Oh yes, gather around kids for the first ever review of "The Crow's Nest" in Meadview, Arizona.

On a recent mini road trip to the Grand Canyon and some other places we somehow managed to reserve a hotel in Meadview, AZ. The path to this hotel and most of this city in general was a little strange, requiring one to turn off the road onto some strange dirt road and given that it was night by the time we reached this area and Google Maps estimated the location of this hotel very poorly we wound up driving around for 20 minutes with only the glow of our headlights to guide us as I imagined a zombie movie playing out in my head. Anyway, we found it, and there didn't appear to be anyone manning the hotel desk, so we walked 50 yards through the dirt to reach the door of the Crow's Nest.

Upon entering I was pleasantly surprised. I guess I had a preconception based on the surrounding area and the fact that "pavement" is a scarce resource in Meadview but the inside was very clean and it seemed to be populated largely by out-of-towners.

I got some chicken fingers or something and they were very good, but who cares. It was 9pm or something in Meadview and we were in a restaurant that very clearly served cheap drinks so drink after drink came to us. I just realized that this review is going to be basically useless because I'm just telling a story about what happened and I couldn't really taste anything except alcohol after I got through the first half a chicken finger. The service was great, top notch and we stumbled out of the restaurant and went around back to the bar.

We were the only people in this bar on this particular Saturday night. I have no idea how this bar makes any money or who comes in there. There was a picture of some beer model who looked like Famke Jannsen (probably spelled that wrong, but who gives a shit) with blonde hair and the bar was being manned by some woman who claimed she was just living in Meadview temporarily until she could make enough money to get out. Then she said she'd lived there for seven years. After I bought the first round of drinks, someone dressed exactly like Super Mario appeared out of nowhere and rang them up, and that was the last I remember seeing of that person.

We drank a lot and bought several songs on the jukebox and after that it all gets a little hazy. I remember hearing The Godfather playing in the background while I was sleeping, rolling over on one of my friends by accident and then falling back asleep, waking up with my mouth tasting like alcohol and my phone out of batteries. I give this place a 4 just because having no people around or a bunch of fat old dudes in Hawaiian shirts if you're lucky is kind of a downer, but I guess it comes with the territory. We ate breakfast here too and it was decent. So next time you're in Meadview, keep driving and find a bigger city, but if it's too late at night or you're too tired or some shit like that, I recommend you eat here. And you probably will, because I'm pretty sure it's the only restaurant in Meadview
