I visited the Renaissance Toledo while on a work trip.
The room was nice, I've stayed in a couple Renaissance (not a huge fan), and this was by the far the nicest one I stayed at. The entry was absolutely beautiful. Once you get upstairs to check in there several places for lounging, there was a restaurant onsite (I've done a review on that as well) All of which were very nice. The bed was comfortable, the pillows soft, the room was large. And I could smell how clean the room was when I walked in.
The strangest thing happened to me during my stay, that made me not as comfortable as I would've been otherwise. (This is NO way to reflect the hotel or my views on it.) There was this hotel patron checking around the same time I did. And this guy was WEIRD! We were on the same floor, he spoke as I walked by, I spoke back (okay normal) then he proceeded to say what room are you staying in and followed me to my room (odd). I wouldn't open the door and told him I wasn't comfortable with his behavior, he stated that he was trying to see if I was in a suite or not, but then he was able to show how you would know just from the door. Hence why do you need to see inside. He finally walked away and once I got into the room; he called me from his room. From then on, I was uncomfortable.
The parking lot was off to the side, I didn't like that with sometimes leaving extremely early and coming back late but it well-lit and security was on patrol.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 518172311Dec 1, 2023
Came here for 4 nights on a business trip. Overall the location is great and the staff are friendly. I gave them 4 stars because of the room quality. The walls are thin as paper. I can actually hear word for word the conversations next door. Outside of that we enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was perfect for our one night getaway. The hotel itself and the rooms are very nice and we had a nice view of the river from our room. While the lobby bar was closed, they offered complimentary sangria and coffee in the lobby which was a lovely touch. I was happy to see that the bathroom in our room had a magnified lighted mirror (since I am very nearsighted and use one at home) but I was surprised that the bathroom lacked certain amenities such as makeup remover or shower caps.
Since the parking situation is only valet (and $22 per night) and it was very cold, we decided to eat at The Heights in the hotel. With everything else in the hotel being closed, it was crowded, but the food was very good.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 27, 2022
The hotel offers valet parking which was convenient when checking in. Quick & easy check-in.
Our room was clean, cozy & spacious. It had a nice view of the river.
We had some appetizers and drinks at "The Heights" which is one of the few places to grab a bite conveniently located within the hotel. Drinks, food & service were fabulous!
It was a great experience and highly recommended!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 28, 2022
We stayed a couple of nights in Toledo to do the tagabrew trail. There are tons of breweries in Toledo which makes the experience super fun. We also found a lot of great places within walking distance from this hotel. What was great is that it is only about an hour drive, so commuting to work was easy. This hotel was gorgeous and the staff was very friendly. You only have the option to valet park, which, if I recall, was about $40/night. If you are staying in the area, I highly recommend this hotel. We had a magnificent time!

I would give it more stars but I can't because my room services that I got was not good, my room was not nice at all. But the last time I was there it was really good. I wanted to know who did my room and I heard her name was Delana. I just wanted her to know she did a good job!

So first of all I would like to say how extremely grateful I am for the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel because I had a extremely comfortable stay amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic. We had a family emergency and I had to stay away from vulnerable family and friends to keep them safe so I book a room literally 12 hours in advance before I arrived.
I love the location of this place since it was close to everything: the Toledo Museum, coffee shops, bar and food was already here! I got there and got valet parking because this was a one day trip and had to get driving around to get things done! The attendance were so nice and courteous, and they gave me a drink voucher due to my room being 8 minutes late! I was patient and didn't mind but they insisted! I got to my room of the 7th floor and that view was so nice! It's cool to see my home town that high.
The room was gorgeous! King-sized bed, reading lights, a large screen tv with my name on it to greet me! That was so cool! It was easy to get dinner and come back and I redeemed my drink voucher at the Heights Bar and I went in ready to get two drinks for one. But wait! They covered both my drinks due to the wait! What?! That was so nice! So I played virtual scattergories with friends and family online with my drinks and Chinese food.
This was a nice experience despite all that was going on. My family is doing well now and I am glad I came down. 5 stars for the staff making the situation easier!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 13, 2022
As Marriott Bonvoy members we have stayed at Marriott hotels all over the country and this one in Toledo excels at the Marriott reputation. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and have all the amenities you need like a refrigerator, toiletries and blow dryer. The fitness center is spacious, clean and well equipped.

If you are a loyal Marriott elite member (Annual Titanium and lifetime platinum here) don't expect any special treatment from this hotel. When I arrived I asked if there were any upgradable rooms available and was immediately told no, without even looking at the pc. I was able to log into the Marriott App and it showed there was several suites available. When I brought this to the clerk's attention he finally said let me look. He looked at his pc this time and said yes we do and he changed my room. However once I got to my room, it was not a suite. I went back down to the front desk to let him know that it was not a suite. The clerk actually said "the app and website are wrong. We unfortunately do not have any suites available and often overbook suites and rooms. So just because it says it's available online the rooms are not truly available". WOW!!!
So either this hotel does overbook rooms, which is completely ridiculous or they do not value loyalty. Needless to say this is the first and last time I will stay with this hotel. I would recommend you find another hotel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2022
