Yes, the price was right, using the entertainment card discounted rate. The location was almost ideal for the business I had the next day. Parking was Free!
Most importantly, I slept AWESOME, the beds, sheets, blanket combo was perfect. I stayed in the executive tower, 6th floor.
I didn't eat here, or even attempt to eat here. The food didn't have a good vibe and it seemed best to skip it. There's lots to eat at the chain restaurants about 4 blocks from there.
This was the first time I'd ever seen a full desktop computer with DVD and free internet in the room... wow!
We walk in from parking garage into the Crowne Plaza and I would have to say we were completely surprised at how beautiful the interior set-up was. Huge atrium with free standing glass elevator. Pond that runs underneath the eating area for the buffet. Huge open areas by the elevators to take in the entire wonderland. The room was spacious and plenty of room for me to throw all my clothes about as I rushed to get ready. Just all the right amenities and for me, the right price of $95/night. The hotel was in right location for where we needed to be and a good place to rest our heads away from our own beds.
THAT IS ALL.
We picked the day where a wedding and another event were occurring. We couldn't go to the lounge downstairs because there were so many people that they were actually doing cover charges. When my man and I came back from the City we witness a girl yelling at your sister's boyfriend about how bad he was. And I had just paid to be entertained. There were drunks everywhere. People walking in failed drunk-driving fashion. And the paper-thin walls ... well we heard just about every fool and fight coming down our hallway at 1am.
Wow. Now we know were to host our next hotel party. We'll ghetto this place nice and right.

My review is based on the STEAL I got from http://priceline.com. We paid $50 a night for a 3 1/2 star hotel. The inside and room were as nice as an Ayres Hotel. The pool area, spa and workout area were great too. Free parking is a plus.
What holds this place back is no complementary breakfast or manager's reception.
It does matter what side you are staying on because there are a lot of events and it can get loud at night.
Didn't stay here, but went to an event that included a reception and dinner. Inedible food and terrible wine. Really! The ambiance is just like every other chain hotel in this class . . . very vanilla but at least not offensive if you don't look at the fake plants too hard.
LIKES: the beautiful fountain/pond in the lobby, the cute little sleep kit they provide that included a sleep mask, lavender linen spray, ear plugs and a CD with sleepy sounds like the ocean and shit like that.
Big, comfy bed, fresh smelling linen (believe me I sniffed it thoroughly), the bergamot/ginger facial bar (I am still kicking my ass for not raiding the maid's cart as I left. Damn it!)
They had movies that are still in theaters available on Pay Per View for only $12.99..not bad.
DISLIKES: The room had popcorn ceilings and some sections were scraped off (hello asbestos). One of the glasses in the bathroom was dirty and the mugs didn't even match. I know that may seem shallow but, everything in hotels should match.
Their dreadful TV programming system sucked huge donkey balls!
The local channels were buried deep deep beneath the shit you had to pay to watch. Porn cost $34.00...are they fucking crazy? Then, when I couldn't sleep & wanted to watch some TV; wouldn't you know it..their system went down and all I got was a blue screen. I needed my insomniac TV time!
All in all, the hotel served its purpose for what the night called for, which I absolutely refuse to disclose. It was all legal...OK not 'all' of it but mostly legal & nobody got hurt..at least I didn't.

We love this place!!!! Always clean, great value, they have computers in each room- a plus too.
We some times go here for just a weekend close to home, but away from the kids.
The beds are really COMFY TOO!!!!!
OK sports fans ever want to get away from the family for a couple hours on Sunday well get you face paint and wallets out BC you are not going to believe this. the CLUB HOUSE BISTRO located on the first floor inside the crown plaza. It's the best sports bar on the peninsula. When football season rolls around it's fun and packed with lots of TVs that carry almost every game. the food is a little expensive but the fans make up for that. If your a die hard football fan then you would want to come to this place.
P.S. there is a special section in the corner of the sports bar on the right hand side for cowboy fans so if your a cowboy fan then come and represent
So, as this is Yelp! I am giving this hotel its review solely on food services and not hotel rooms, never spent the night. They do cater events. Which I have been too, a lot. (Work)
So, story goes we used to go to some other hotel for our once a month dinner meeting, with groups of 50-75 but the other hotel charged like 40$ per person for a 3 hour dinner/continuing education class. That was pricey, and they had a minimum booking of 40 so i we had a slow month and only booked 25, to bad we pay for 40.
SO, we went to the Plaza, they have a minimum dinner booking of only 25 people and their price for dinner/rental and appetizers is decent.
For the first few meetings we had some adjusting, explaining we have lots of last minute so even if we say 50, please add 10% to that number just in case people show up with out signing up.
As well, we had some audio issues, but after the kinks were all fixed up, and we got ONE guy we work with all the time I would say they throw a good event.
The food:
solid appetizers - usually mini quiche or potstickers, always a meat and a non meat, but pass on the veggie platter, no one eats veggies at fancy dinners, and the meal comes with a side of veggies anyways.
The dinner comes with a salad, roll, entre and 2 sides, usually a veggie and a starch.
The salads = 4/5 awesome. Sometimes its a tomato mozarella, mmmmm, sometimes a vinagrette, sometimes something new like berries on spinache, aways fresh and good, except for the blue cheese salad, too much blue cheese, to thick dressing.
The Sides, always tasty, always good seasoning, sometimes mashed potatoes, sometimes a ravioli, sometimes a rice of some sort, I always have eaten it.
The veggies, almost always either beans, asparagus, carrot cooked meddlely, solid tasty and always different sauces so it doesnt get borring.
The main meal, well last time it was rock cod w lemon sauce, omg to die for, they fix fish really well, they do chicken often, sometimes breasts, some times a bit sweeter or spicier, their menu is always very good and suprizingly full of good spices.
I dont think Ive had a bad entre, the portions are large (I NEVER finish)
THEY ALWAYS offer a vegetarian dish as an alternative, and sometimes they are better than the standard. Cheers for pollenta.
Dessert - almost forgot. I rarely eat the dessert, not big on sweets, but They have great ones. Personal sized fruit/custard tortes, lemon cake with whip, flaan. Always a light to medium dessert, never anything heavy because the dinners are quite heavy.
The wait staff is never anything but helpful and puts up with us eating outside the convention room in the hallway (our employees are reclusive)
Always ready to bring a special item and quick to serve and clean up.
(note: they have set up a table (like got a table from somewhere added chairs, settings centerpiece and candles) of ten when we had hella walk in come in less than 10 minutes)
So, yeah, compared to the other hotel Crowne aint bad, but just this one, I had issues with the Palo Alto Cabana Crown Plaza.

I stayed here over the summer for a conference, left for a few hours, only to come back and find that the overhang in front of the main foyer had COLLAPSED and that my room (two floors right on top of the overhang) had been evacuated.
Smooth move, Crowne Plaza architects and engineers, smooth move.
I was moved to another room where I wound up sleeping on a couch bed. This made for a very grouchy Devon the next day. Nooooo good.

I've never stayed at the actual hotel, but I've been to their downstairs sports bar cum nightclub a few times on ill fated quests to find thrill on the Peninsula.
The drinks are strong, but pricey... considering this was a nightclub in the middle of Foster (freaking) City, I'd say that's about right for the captive audience. I mean, who wants to drive 25 miles north to get your freak on when you have real live honest to betsy freaks right here in this wealthy suburban town.
The appetizer sampler is very well priced at $12 for a giant plate of greasy fries, quesadillas, calamari and chicken wings to shove down the old liquor chute.
They've got two old scuffed pool tables with matching set of crooked and broken cues in a side room with old couches and monitors playing sports that you can score if you get there around happy hour and before the party crowd start filing in. The tall jocular manager of the bar comes around frequently to make sure people are happy with what's playing, and if anyone needs the channel changed.
Whenever I leave, I half never expect to be back, but I've been wrong almost every time.

OK, so i lived here for about 5 weeks. All was well and good, util I started getting bitten at night. EWWWW. Homie don't play that. I complained to the desk and they didn't seem to give a shit. Great. Complained the next day after seeing ants all over my room. They said they would change my room. I came back after work and no one knew anyting. I packed up my bags and went downstairs to check out. They started insisting that I pay for the extra night, I refused, pointing out the there were freaking BUGS in my room that were biting me. They gave me a $100 refund for the night before. I left.
Now the manager is leaving me messages that are so freaking long and I just want to tell him to piss off. He leaves me messages explaining that it's ant season and that it happens. Dude, I was on the fourth floor. And now I'm at the Westin. And you know what? No bugs. No problems. And no I will not be understanding or return to your hotel when your staff does not give a shit about the fact that I have nasty bites and see ants all over my room. I don't care that "someone dropped the ball on this one"
However, it was all well and good for the first four weeks, so I guess the moral of the story is simple: don't stay long. But seriously, there are so many other hotels in this areas, why bother taking the chance at the Crowne Plaza?

Attended length of service award at Kaiser, held at Crowne Plaza past Tues night.
Pretty descent hotel......ordered hurricane sour to the bartender and just look at me funny. He doesn't know how to make the drink. I just ended up ordering a glass of Merlot. They don't have much of a selection but their price is cheal $6.50.
Plenty of parking and good for business traveller in the bay area.

Upgrading from 3 to 4 stars. This hotel has grown nicely on me. Compared to, say, the Holiday Inn Express in San Bruno, this Crowne Plaza is luxurious (although reading Irene F.'s post makes me itchy).
Rooms and bathrooms are big and clean. Beds are the most comfortable I've slept in yet. Sheets are clean and pillows abundant.
Free wireless and wired Internet access in room. Same free wireless in the lobby.
Front desk staff generally friendly and welcoming.
Japanese restaurant, karaoke bar, and full-service restaurant all on ground floor.
Decent fitness center on 4th floor.
Great location. Close to Bridgepont Shopping Center (http://www.cityofsanma...) and dining.

I went to the Foster City Crowne Plaza. It's a nice enough hotel, and the price was definitely right at $50/night. You can't get that in the Bay area for a 3-4 star hotel.
However, it's got a lot of noise issues.
First, it's got a sports bar that always invites the wrong kinds of people which then results in having the police over.
Second, it also hosts a lot of celebrations and conventions. The last time I was there, it was hosting a sweet-16 party. There's nothing like having a bunch of teenagers acting and looking like they're 25. Can you say underage drinking which then results in shouting and hollering until way pass 2 AM. Ohh, to be 16 and completely clueless. Priceless. NOT !!
The management is supposedly sympathetic, but so far nothing is done. I definitely can't recommend it.
The Clubhouse Bistro located inside the hotel is a nice low key spot for a Friday or Saturday night. They offer a full bar, a dance floor with a DJ, and plush booths and sitting areas for kicking back. The waitstaff was efficient and friendly.
The prices, I thought, were a bit high and it seemed like it appealed to a slightly older set (maybe mid-late 30's). Otherwise is was comfortable and a good place to dance and drink and hang out with a group of friends.
EDIT TO ADD: I recently went again and had dinner for the first time. It was SO GOOD. I had the clam chowder and it was delicious. The staff was really nice and everything was brought in a super timely fashion. The prices of food were not bad at all and it had enough variety to satisfy our entire group. They get an extra star for the great food!
We have to say that the Clubhouse Bistro is where it's at ! They have huge big screens and black lights and disco lights too. The Karaoke is the best you'll find in the bay area. The sound is great and loud. The KJ / DJ "Chris" is very good as well. If you want the big time best around for a fun night of singing or dancing then the Crown in Foster City is it !
I recently had a block of rooms here for my wedding weekend. From the booking to the actual day, there was nothing but problems. Slow to return calls IF they return calls, screwed up reservations for almost all of my guests including myself and my husband, staff that didn't really care that the reservations were a mess...I could go on and on. I would not ever return and/or trust them with an event that is special to me.

First things first: I am giving the Crown Plaza five stars to offset the goofy reviews who are rating a hotel based on the food. Hey, I have a novel idea. How about rating it as a place to stay? On that note, my real rating would be four stars.
I selected the Crown Plaza through a package I bought through Hotwire (can I say that?) The location was convenient for my needs, and it was easy enough to find considering I didn't use a map. Check-in was fast and courteous, and my family was provided with a comfortable room on the ground floor facing a quiet street (the desk clerk said rooms facing the highway were noisier.) We were provided with a mini-fridge when we asked for one, as my mother has medications she needs to keep cool. The beds are more comfortable than the average hotel room, with a plusher mattress and more pillows. They also provide a sleep kit, with earplugs, an eyemask, and a meditation CD. Rooms have high-speed internet, and also internet tv (for a fee.) I don't have a laptop, and didn't want to pay for internet, so I used the free internet at the business center. The bath has a better than average shower head, and we had no problems with water pressure or temperature. The pool is just off the lobby; I did not use it but I did use the hot tub. I can't comment on room service or the restaurants.
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay, and would absolutely consider their services again the next time I am in the Bay Area.
I just had a company offsite there today. They served breakfast with stale/hard bagels, stale pastries, rotten/over ripe fruit, and cheap OJ/Grapefruit Juice. Oh, and the cheapie mints they had on each table.... most of them were open and wet. Very, very disgusting....

The food was actually the highlight of the night. It was the service that really wasn't up to par. My college group was holding a dance there and reserved a banquet room and at least ten rooms for us to stay in.
The problems started when one group of four found out that they had been set up with a room with just one queen size bed. They were told that they were overbooked and all they could do was give them a roll away. When the roll away arrived we saw that it was really only big enough for one.
Later when our party started it felt like the staff was waiting for all hell to break out. They even called the cops 20 minutes into the event just to tell them, call us if anything really happens.
A couple of us forgot stuff in the room to find out that they had completely disappeared in the morning. We were first told that the person that is in charge of the lost in found wasn't there.
do not stay here! we just had our xmas party over here and the food stinks...the bread they served was cold.
