Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel
3 reviews for Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel
admittedly my expectations were low. and for the most part, the food met my expectations. grease instead of taste, fat instead of finesse.
but the rooms themselves were actually quite nice, with an expansive view, comfy beds, and free wireless
I've never stayed here, but I have been to the bar and restaurant, Top of the Five, on two occasions. It's a dimly-lit affair, with live jazz on weekends (think standards that are easy on the ear). It's a nice place to take your folks for a night on the town, or a place for a date if you're looking for something a step above the common bar (literally). Service was horrible on one occasion, although I doubt this is the norm.
I had a definitely sub-par stay at this hotel. Check in is a bit odd. There is a very small area for parking check in and the valet was not to be seen. You need to take the elevator up to the second floor to check in. The check in staff was courteous and competent as would be expected for this hotel tier. The room was appointed nicely but the beds were definitely below par considering the current hotel bed wars that Crowne Plaza normally fairs well in. Perhaps it was because they did not have my requested king room. The doubles just didn't seem to measure up to other Crownes. The internet service was free but absolutely awful. It was insufferably slow and kept dropping my VPN connection. Room service was prompt however after being assured that my tuna would be very rare and lightly seared, it arrived cooked fully through and very dry. The replacement did arrive quickly (how long should it take to sear a slab of tuna) and was very tasty. I did think it was a bit odd when the delivery person told me that the replacement order was "no charge". Would I stay here again? Maybe. Would I recommend it? Only with reservations. Maybe the standards are just lower out amongst the corn fields.
