A little austere in terms of service, but a real effort. Great tuna melt with a nice little side salad that I had yesterday while studying before heading off to a local appointment. I think the credit/debit card minimum's a bit on the steep side ($10). Small place with few electrical outlets, so best to go during the middle of the weekday when perhaps there'll be less of a crowd. I got the warning that the restroom often goes out of order if you aren't careful and abuse the commode--I thought to myself, that's a business's issue and should not be the worry of the customer, even if I am aware they are looking out for themselves. Oh well. Cute and convenient location across from the San Antonio CalTrain station. I would go here again given the opportunity, especially for studying.

Stopped by now and then while i'd wait for the train. Then I didn't show up for two years. So two years later I walk inside and the people behind the counter said "hey sara!"
Wow....I was never really a regular and i am so impressed they remember me!
And when I finished my sandwich, i found a warm chocolate chip cookie at the bottom of the bag. Aw, sweetness!
I stopped here yesterday before grabbing a train to the city. I liked that they had some pre-assembled sandwiches for grab-and-go; if it wasn't for that, I would have been pretty hungry but the time I got to SF. I picked up the chicken salad sandwich, a lemon bar and an iced tea.
Here's what I liked about Crossings Cafe:
-Proximity to San Antonio Caltrain: it made getting lunch before going to the city quite convenient
-Service: fast and friendly
-Concept: quick, convenient cafe for commuters and people in the neighborhood
What I didn't like:
-Iced tea: it was obviously instant stuff from a powder
-Chicken in the chicken salad: kind of tasted like the canned chicken you might get for your emergency kit
I'd recommend this place if you're already in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
I like Crossings Cafe. They serve a good latte that keeps me pleasantly buzzed for most of the morning. The service is excellent and attentive to details. For example, when I ordered tea, the "barista" (for lack of a better descriptor) inquired if I wanted it with milk. She even heated up the whole milk for a creamy, hot cup of English Breakfast. I was impressed.
This place was really cool. The service was good, food was good and reasonably priced.
3 of us went, on an absolutely perfect day.... not too hot... not a cloud in the sky... a slight breeze.
A friend had a half soup half salad, other friend had the funny chicken sandwhich, and I had the californian.... all were very good.. very fresh ingredients, and decently sized portions.
the staff was friendly, helpful, curteous and polite.
what more can you ask? There wasn't a wait so we got our food pretty quick, and yes. seating isn't really abundant, but there is enough for maybe 25 people.
Go and enjoy a nice day and support a local business

Thanks to yelp we checked out this place. I had what everyone suggested which was wild nutty chicken sandwich and like everyone stated it was really good. Actually I had a half sandwich and some salad (the salad was yummy spring mix with some great dressing). We sat outside as it was a nice day, the only thing is that the train will pass every couple of mins so it was pretty loud.
I want to go back and check out some other sandwiches and the espresso drinks :)
Sandwiches, salads, wraps, smoothies, coffee drinks, breakfast items...this little cafe offers a variety of options for the varied tastes of its patrons. I have only visited for lunch, and while I have yet to try any of the salads, I know that both their sandwiches and wraps are flavorful and wonderfully unique. Most recently I ordered the sun-dried tomato wrap, which was delicious and filling. It came with chips, and even after ordering a drink, my total came out to less than $10.
The cafe has a very open-air feel to it when the doors are open and the sun is streaming in through the front windows. While the seating can be limited on a busy day, the inside has a spacious feel to it. The staff is friendly and attentive, whether on a slow or busy day.

The Wild Chicken sandwich is nutty indeed. We got croissant instead of bread, which has a fluffy texture to it. The finely chopped grapes brings out a unique flavor. The sandwich tastes like no other.
The homemade spaghetti is tasty as hell. The dish is not as rich as the ones you get from Italian restaurants. Great for a light lunch.
Most items on their menu are in the price range of $5 (+/-2). The location of the cafe makes it a nice getaway from Castro!

Local neighborhood cafe directly across from San Antonio Caltrain station. Family run by local couple. Sit inside and read the paper or outside and enjoy the sun. Has both Google WiFi and own WiFi connections. The Nutty Chicken sandwich is the best sandwich on the menu. Prices are ~$5/sandwich.
The medium mocha here is very large, priced pretty low, and tastes really good. The service is fast and friendly. I had my mocha in time to run over to catch my train across the street.
We had lunch there today.
I took the super Greek salad - for $5.75 - a large salad with lettuce, feta cheese, olives, peppers (orange and red), yummy dressing (on the side) and a scoop of their nutty chicken (which is a shredded chicken with nuts, grapes and apples, really yummy). It came with whole wheat bread which was excellent.
Oren took the combo for $6.5 - half a sandwich of the nutty chicken and a soup of the day (barely and vegetables soup which was so good).
They have a lot of other salads. Most of them are $5-$7. They have interesting sandwiches and wraps. One interesting wrap that we saw is the a chicken wrap with guacamole + sun dried tomato paste, sounds delicious. will try it next time.
They have wireless and about 6 tables inside, 3 outside (recommended when it's sunny). The woman who is working there is nice. Service isn't very fast, it took about 10 minutes to get our food.
Very recommended.
The Wild Nutty Chicken sandwich is what will make this place thrive. Mmm, so delicious!
They had tons of drinks, magazines to read, and plenty of outdoor seating. A very nice place to take it easy and enjoy a cuppa.
Everything is good here.
Pricing is pretty good especially.
Food a lot to each and healthy.
The Daily Special: I had the salmon teryiaki with rice (it's good!), their specials are always good and its not something you see on the menu all the time.
Fruit Smooties are good, I like the mango-strawberry -i came up with it, tried it and liked it.
White Chocolate Mocha is great!
Great for lunch and their breakfast is really good.
Friendly smiles, always a pleasure going there.
Great service all around.
Awkward little joint -- as if it was thrown together by people who wanted to run a business but weren't quite sure what kind, or where, or why or how. One corner of it is devoted to a travel agency and there is a staircase that leads up to a residence or something.
It opens too late, closes too early and shuts down all weekend long.
That said, the sandwiches are great and the service is warm and genuine.
Nice service, the sandwich was good. Thats about it.
Great service! The breakfast is great. The sandwiches are good and healthy. It's a nice little place near the Cal Train Station. They have outdoor seating... very nice... especially for nice days.
Great little local cafe that is consistent and has a very addictive Wild Nutty chicken sandwich. It has the perfect balance of cranberries, grapes and nuts - yumilicious. One of my co-workers comes to visit me on days off just to get this sandwich.
WYSIWYG: 5
Quality: 4
Cost: 4 - well priced but can get expensive if you eat there too often...
Convience: 5
Other factors: near train station so it is conveient but can get busy in bursts. Not much seating. Good coffee drinks - yummy Choochoocino - nice to have desserty options in my lunch spots.
This inviting and tasty cafe is hidden behind the San Antonio Shopping center.
The vegetable soup was full of flavor, without being fatty. The nutty chicken sandwich was very tasty, though you should be aware that it's filled with chicken salad, not pieces of chicken. The vegetarian wrap had just the right balance of wrap, sauces and vegetables. All were relatively cheap and served with a smile. Highly recommended for a quick or filling lunch.
