I think this coffee place is the bee's knees. It is always fast and SO consistently good. I haven't ever had a coffee that I didn't like there.
I usually brew my own coffee during the week but like to go out for a specialty cup on the weekends. My favorites are their pumpkin spice latte and their peppermint mocha. They are always delicious and always the perfect temperature.
I also really like this place because it's a local joint, not a big corp. like Starbucks [and honestly they blow them out of the water when it comes to a specialty cup.] For being local their prices are extremely competitive. They are at least a dollar cheaper than any drink at Starbucks and Caribou.
If you haven't tried Crimson Cup I definitely recommend you get there and give it a try! Their drive-thru is fast and the inside is quaint and inviting. The staff is always friendly and really knows how to make a good drink! -

I Like supporting places that are local. Yes there is a time in my life that I want starbucks, or caribou, but if a local coffee shop can fill the bill, then I would much rather go there.
Crimson Cup meets this goal, better then other places that I have tried in the place. The coffee is good, better then most places I've tried. The staff is friendly, nice and quick which by itself is enough to keep me coming back here. They have an excellent patio, and plenty of seating for all on the inside.
I wish they were open a bit later, but other then that I don't really have to many complaints. -

No more waffles. I loved those waffles. And admittedly it had been a year since I'd been here looking for them, but I was still sad to see them gone!
Anyway, apart from that the staff is friendly, and the pastries are good. The hot chocolate is especially tasty stuff. I'm not sure what they do to it that makes it taste like a melted Hersey bar in warm milk, but that is the sort of thing I think is delicious. -

Great coffee, great staff and friendly setting inside.
It was good to grab a coffee with a friend, get some work done with the free wi-fi and who doesn't love the smell of fresh coffee? I will definitely be going back. I always chose local over national and this place is every reason why. -

Friendly staff! Great coffee. I would come here again. Parking lot was flooded when I got there..but the staff was taking pics of their rubber ducky. Was a good time. Very helpful on where to park instead.

Taking up half of an old bank (a credit union took the other), Crimson Coffee makes great use of the old ATM - it's a drive through! Inside, though, you'd never guess its financial heritage. A cozy little shop, there's a fake fire place surrounded by very comfy black leather chairs, and a few tables with more typical chairs along the wall and window. The space is very small, but doesn't feel overly crowded even when there are a lot of people in it.
The main thing, though, is the coffee. Prices are actually pretty good - on par or less than the standard Starbucks. (the exception are iced drinks which are higher).
This last visit I got a classic cappuccino which was only $2.75...and one of the best capps I've had in a long while. The milk was truly foamy - almost as dense as whipped cream - and the coffee was strong but not overpowering or overly bitter. I also really appreciated the extra few seconds taken to add a little artistry to the presentation.
Please note that the classic cappuccino only comes in a small and can only be ordered in store. They have a more standard cap if you're on the run, though.
There are also an assortment of delicious looking baked goods, though I didn't try anything this time around.
Overall, if you're in the neighborhood and need a java buzz, Crimson Coffee is worth checking out, whether you're driving through or sitting to savor. -

Crimson Cup is a great spot for coffee drinkers who want to buy local. The Clintonville location accommodates customers in a rush who want to just use the drive thru, couch-sitting couples on a date, or future published authors working on their laptops at a table.
The coffee has a great bite to it and its much better than any Starbucks drink. The staff is friendly and keep the place clean. I only wish they had more baked good to choose from. -

I've only been through the drive-thru, and only for drinks, so I can't speak to the atmosphere or the food, but I have yet to have a bad experience at Crimson Cup. Service is fast and always very friendly, the prices are good and the coffee is fantastic, never weak or overly bitter (I'm looking at you, Starbucks). I am definitely a fan!
Edit 1/2/12: I've been here another handful of times (and have now tried their muffins) and they're still earning those 5 stars! -

I switched jobs and now a good part of the time I seriously consider taking the "long way" to work just to pass Crimson Cup's drive-thru. I stopped often last summer on the way to or from work.
Their Crimson Cup Mocha is hands down the best thing served. Friendly, fast service and they take the local SBB card, which I love.
Only wish they stayed open later. -

I have mixed feelings about this coffee shop. I love the coffee. I just hate the atmosphere of the shop. Maybe I'm being superficial and picky about something that's really stupid. Maybe it's the color red that the inside is decorated in initiates a feeling of anger and discontent within me.(yes, I'm aware it's CRIMSON cup coffee......duh)
Anywho.......the house coffee is good and strong. Thumbs up from me. My favorite drink here though, is the frozen lite white mocha. It's like a dream. Super good.
I guess I would probably give Crimson Cup 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that the location is kinda bad(hard to get out sometimes) and the fact that I don't like the interior. Hence the drive thru is amazing! -

I love supporting local coffee shops over large chains, and this is as good as it gets!
Their products are sold across the US by many coffee shops and restaurants, but this location is the only one actually run by Crimson Cup.
Crimson Cup's coffee is really great and I find their mixed drinks are usually great. I don't find their tea terribly good, unfortunately, and hope that they upgrade one day.
The sitting area itself is quite large and offers a lot of different seating arrangements (great for both meetings and working on your own.) The only problem I occasionally run into is that it gets pretty noisy in there around the time school lets out, as neighborhood kids stop by for a drink on their way home from school. But it's not really THAT bad. Still a worthwhile place to hangout! (And they have free WIFI!) -

It's hard not to fall in love with Crimson Cup. The experience is excellent from start to finish. There's plenty of parking, so you never have to stress while you're trying to get your coffee fix. The staff is super friendly and laid back. Seating is ample so it's a great place to meet a friend or get some work done.
Crimson Cup gets bonus points for the patio and being an awesome local business. I'm fairly certain the mocha has magical powers. Whenever I have one I seem to fancy myself Wonder Woman and take down my to-do list.Listed in: Measure Your Life in Coffee…

Solid coffee. I had the vanilla latte and a raspberry white chocolate scone, both were very good. nice atmosphere, wifi, and a nice patio out front that looks out on High st. The staff is very friendly.
The coffee has a very mellow taste without any hint of bitterness or aftertaste. There is a typical pastry menu, scones, muffins, etc... The drink menu isn't as extensive as some area coffee houses, but what they have they do very well.
A nice vibe here, not as morgue-like as some due to all the headsets :) Another great asset for our wonderful Clintonville community.

Easily the best coffee shop with a drive through in Columbus!!! Lately I have been accused of always ordering the same thing everywhere. When it comes to coffee shops I order a mocha or hot chairman lattes.
So the past two times I have tried new things here. The first was the iced chai latte and the second was the crimson mocha. The crimson mocha is not a typical milk or dark chocolate mocha. This is a mixture of white chocolate and caramel. I have to say it was quite amazing. On the other hand I felt like the iced chai tea was like drinking cereal milk. cinnamon toast crunch cereal milk to be specific. If this is your thing, you may love this drink. not me. But I am not going to ale away a star due to.personal preference!
Crimson cup is consistently fresh, sting and great flavored coffee!! Friendly and prompt service rounds out service both inside and in he drive through!!! -

Stopped in for the first time today and got the traditional cappuccino which was very nice. Based on that I give the product 4-5 stars. The one problem I have here is the ambiance. The inside has that Starbucky corporate feel, although the quilts on the wall with all of the childrens' drawings help give it a homey touch. Not a fan of the music they had playing which was a bunch of generic acoustic singer-songwriters.
The view outside is of the parking lot and a drive-thru bank: blech. There is a patio there, located between said parking lot and their own drive-thru. The coffee is quality, but the setting isn't all that great. For that, I can't help but compare it to the Cup O Joe down the street which offers the best of both worlds. -

I love Crimson Cup! They were the first local business that really interacted with me in stores and through Twitter. I love their coffee (LOCAL, people!) and it's fun to sit in their shop and work or read.
Pros:
1. Drive thru
2. Great coffee
3. LOCAL
4. Great atmosphere
5. Outdoor seating
6. Pretty convenient (near 315 off Henderson) -

Crimson Cup's coffee can be found at multiple locations in Columbus. I was first introduced to it at Spinelli's Deli on Neil Ave in 2008. The locally-brewed coffee comes in a variety of flavors, ranging from the traditional dark roast, the neighborhood blend, and seasonal blends, like my new favorite, Winter Wonderland (light roast cinnamon deliciousness).
However, it wasn't until last month that I ventured to the homestead of Crimson Cup Coffee, located on High Street in Clintonville.
I already knew that the coffee was fantastic, but I found that the store itself is actually pretty fantastic as well. One word best describes the feel inside Crimson Cup Coffee: Cozy! There's ultra comfortable chairs, a fireplace, and a nice, rustic feel. It is a great place to sip some brew and read a book (which is exactly what I did when I had a day off on Veteran's Day). I walked home with a $10 1-pound bag of freshly ground coffee (the aforementioned WInter Wonderland) since I don't live all that close to the store. This way, I can enjoy the goodness of Crimson Cup at home!
Crimson Cup is inexpensive, tasty, different, and LOCAL. It beats the over-priced and over-hyped Starbucks ANY day! -
Review from Matt W.
I've only been into this location once, but I was charmed by the comfortable seating, relaxing mood, and of course the delicious coffee and snacks! It's absolutely worth a stop if you're looking for a cup in Clintonville.

I moved from LA so I am a pretty harsh coffee critic. I am a Peet's girl all the way with some Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf thrown in for god measure. I do not like Starbucks or many of the other coffee shops. I tend toward mom and pop shops and one offs so Crimson Cup is right up my alley!
They have actually been around for close to 20 years (I think...) but just opened their brick location within the last 2 years, and boy an I glad they did!
Not only do they have killer coffee, but they have healthy coffee drink choices as well. Since they are small, the staff gets to know you and greets you by name! It reminds me of my days in LA, I highly recommend it! -

My morning cup of joe usually comes from Tim Hortons, but if Crimson Cup were a little closer to my morning route, I'd switch my loyalty in a snap. The coffee's richer and stronger than Timmy's, the folks working there are friendly, and I feel good about supporting a local place.
I can only speak to two items from Crimson Cup, and they are coffee and iced coffee. I have been drinking black coffee for years, but I used to use cream in my iced coffee, because it was just too much otherwise. But after a few visits to CC, I began to ask for less and less cream, and finally started drinking my iced coffee black as well. The coffee's so flavorful, I don't need it... and complex, too; sometimes I swear I taste a hint of dark chocolate in the aftertaste.
It's a nice touch how they put the straw in your drink for you, yet leave the paper covering the part your mouth will touch.
I've only set foot inside CC a couple of times, but it looks like a great, comfortable place to hang out. If I ever get the urge to grab my laptop and surf the Intarwebs from somewhere other than my couch, CC is the first place I'd think of. -

The friendly Crimson staff makes this place one of my favorites.
There's nothing better than receiving a smile along with your cup of joe in the morning. The CC staff consistently supplies that extra little boost I need to turn my frown upside down.

I've been wanting to visit this coffeeshop since it's just up the street from where I live in Clintonville. So when I saw that they were offering $1 drinks all day today, I decided to stop by. At the door I was offered a free water bottle! The employees, though very busy, were cheerful, friendly, and seemed to be enjoying the bustle. I got a medium chai latte, usually $3.40, for $1! It was decent, although not spectacular.
Although it looks pretty small from the outside, the inside is pleasantly decorated, with several small tables, a hearth with five armchairs, and plentiful outlets and wifi for laptop addicts (like this one who is currently Yelping).Listed in: Library student + chai tea…

My go to place for coffee and work. The coffee is great, I've never had a problem finding seating, and it's quiet enough that I can get work done on my laptop. It's also got a drive through, which I love during the winter, and ample parking when I go in for a drink.
They also have Pattycake Bakery muffins there, which are delicious. -

So I'm in love. Crimson Cup Coffee is amazing. Based right here in Columbus, the company has been selling coffee to independent shops around the country for 17 years. They also help folks set up their own coffee houses. To the best of my knowledge, this Clintonville shop is the only "official" Crimson Cup Coffee shop in existence.
Coffee-wise, things are on the up-and-up. It's darn tasty. They have all the mainstays on their sizable yet not overwhelming menu. They have some tempting eatables too (rice crispy treats with fruit loops!).
As far as the coffee house itself goes, it's great. The atmosphere is amazing -- so sleek and new without seeming corporate cookie cutter. It sorta has something for everyone. They have shelves filled with tastefully arranged books and games as well as a muted (!) television on the wall. The TV's presence is completely negligible if you don't like that sort of thing in your coffee house experience. Comfy chairs and a couch round out the interior. They have spacious patio. Oh, they have free Wi-Fi also.
The employees were all very friendly and helpful the day that I visited. In fact, one of the company execs was working when I stopped in. It was very cool to see him "in the trenches." He even made all of the customers samples of a mango smoothie!
This place is it. I can't wait to go back. -

When in doubt, I go to Crimson Cup. I'm no coffee connoisseur, but I know what I like. I'm not a fan of Bux, on many levels, and always feel warm and fuzzy when I think of heading up to Crimson Cup.
It's a drive, but their service is stellar and their drinks are great. I love the prices because I feel like they are right on and very fair. It's also a great place to do some work as it's quiet but not too quiet. I like their redesign and the fact that they got rid of the terrible flat-screen TV a few months back.
Best Pumpkin Latte in town - hands-down! -

Three words: frozen hot chocolate.
Ok a few more words - I think this is the most underrated coffee shop in Columbus. The coffee is roasted in Bexley and sold out of this fantastic coffee shop in Clintonville - hello local!
Also, they have a drive-thru, which looks like a bank drive-thru (because part of it IS. It's weird.)Listed in: Coffeeeeeeee!

I used to live in Clintonville and still love it when I get the opportunity to spend some time there. I've had several people mention Crimson Cup as a nice place and so when a friend who I hadn't seen in a year suggested meeting for coffee near her Clintonville office, I immediately suggested Crimson Cup.
It was a nice, warm, and sunny day so I got an iced chai latte to drink out on the patio. The staff wasn't really what I would call friendly, but they were efficient and got my drink fairly quickly. I also had to wait quite a while before anyone acknowledged me when I went back in to get a 2nd cup. Even though they had cars in the drive through, a nod of the head would have gone a long way.
The patio is small but it is clean and comfortable. There are a few umbrellas to keep out of direct sunlight and so you can see your laptop screen while using the free wifi. Even though it was nice to sit outside and reintroduce my deprived skin to the sun, it was difficult to have a conversation with high street traffics constantly going by. Patio would be nicer for independent work and save the convos for inside.
The chai latte was well mixed but I would have liked it to be a bit spicier and less milky. I may be able to request it that way. Next time, I would like to try one of their coffee based drinks as I have heard they are really good!
All in all, someplace that I would come back to and I'm intrigued by the idea of the drive through with the bank. I would try the drive through just for that! -
Review from Brett P.
The Crimson Cup brand of coffee is my favorite (and local, too!), so the brick and mortar business for it couldn't help but please!
I have been drinking Crimson Cup coffee for a while, but the first time I went to this store it was actually for their waffels. A friend and I were on a hunt for authentic Belgian waffles and couldn't get to the North Market for those little pieces of heaven, so we tried here. On Saturdays (and possibly Sundays) they sell Belgian-style waffels for about $5 each. The waffels were average, but the atmosphere was great, the coffee delicious, and the staff helpful.
I went back a few days later with my laptop to do some work. There is a great little corner with comfy chairs and power outlets that made a perfect coworking spot. The only complaint is that the couch was so comfortable I would have rather napped than worked!
Crimson Cup is a perfect place to relax, get some work done, have a date, or enjoy friends' company.Listed in: Burbalicious (So delicious)

Best White Chocolate Cherry Mocha in the city!
The authentic Belgian Waeffuls with sugar chunks FROM Belgium in them are the BOMB! They look small, but are very rich, but not overly sweet. Only on Sat-Sun.
Doggy friendly-business and patrons on the patio.
Very social and pleasant coffee house. -

I came in this morning specifically to try their oatmeal. It comes with brown sugar, diced fruit, and chopped nuts. All of those are optional, but I got the works. lol Today I skipped my usual hot chocolate but I've had that plenty of times. It's a nice store and relatively close to my home.

I had no idea this was here! But I couldn't pass up a new coffee drive-thru (that happens to be attached to a bank). I ordered a simple decaf coffee, nothing added. I waited for a few minutes which is longer than I would have expected to have to wait, but I noticed right away why there was just a moments wait. The taste was amazing! It tasted incredibly fresh and even had a bit of froth left on top.
I adore coffee but have been trying to cut out caffeine. Seeing as decaf does still have some caffeine in it, but tasted so right on, I will make an exception to my new rule. No more coffee, unless it's Crimson Cup. -

I have an addiction problem thanks to Crimson Cup. Frozen Crimson Cup Mocha. Good all year round. Good every time I go there, which is often. Best part, I was talking with one of the super nice baristas and she told me how to ask for my favorite drink in its "skinny" version. I wondered aloud if my addiction would make me gain weight and she explained how the drink could be made with less calories/sugar/fat. My butt thanks her.

Another great Clintonville coffee dig (technically speaking, Beechwold). Initially when this place opened it was sitting at around a 3-4 star coffee shop but recent renovations and improvements in consistency have transformed this place into one of Clintonville's elite. The atmosphere is definitely a high point. Although the decor borders on corporate at initial glance, it actually has a very classy vibe with a unique ceiling. The biggest plus is the availability of lounge furniture designed for the coffee drinker/pastry eater in mind.
Overall, the drinks are always high quality. The baked goods are some of the best. The muffins are to die for. The 99 cent cookies are some of the best deals in town.
Only complaint would be that the hours are a bit lacking compared to other coffee shops. But, overall, one of Clintonville's elite coffee shops. A model for the independents! -

Maiden voyage a couple days ago, and I was impressed!! The two-top tables are extra long so that a couple can share one table and still have room for their laptops and other nerd-gear. Of course the coffee was fab, but I knew that already.

Crimson Cup is the newest coffeehouse addition to Clintonville. Feeling disloyal to Starbuck's, I ventured over to CC for my morning cup o' joe and for some leisure reading time. A nice front patio seating area can be found adjacent to the parking spaces that CC shares with CME Federal Credit Union. The decor is really spacious, feel goodie, and artsier than some of its counterpart over in the Short North district. In fact, all types of artwork from amateur to professional can be found hanging pretty much everywhere. CC also boasts comfortable sofas and an LCD TV for those who just feel like lounging. Tables are spaced far enough so as to eliminate the claustrophobic feel that one may get, say, at Cup O' Joe. Typical coffeehouse music can be heard in the background, but at least it isn't blaring from the speakers, which is always a plus; I can actually hear myself think. 4 stars for study potential alone.
Drink offerings right down to the to-go cups reminded me of Seattle's Best Coffee, but CC's coffee tastes much better than SBC's, imo. The tea selection may be limited, but it beats Sbux's line of Tazo teas in a heartbeat. Prices are comparable to those of SBux and Caribou. CC offers a decent variety of pastries, but I can't comment on it since I've never ordered anything from the bakery case. (Coffeehouse desserts and pastries have never really been my cup of tea.) Employees are enthusiastic and energetic... definitely peppier than I'll ever be at 6 in the AM.
CC rarely gets a full house which is another plus. I don't have to loom over random strangers and intimidate them enough for them to surrender their seats.
Free wi-fi (along with ample electrical outlets--very important!) secures my patronage. You might even find me Yelping on my laptop there.
P.S. Drive-thru available for those clienteles who are willing to consume the extra calories that come with whole milk, whipped cream, and ten different syrups in their lattes but who are unwilling to take the few extra steps to order it inside.Listed in: Bean there, Javaed that!

Hands down my favorite coffee shop in town. Excellent coffee, of course. Friendly service. Interesting music without being either sleepy or annoying. Crimson Cup has the best coffee in town, hands down. I always go through the drive thru so I'm not familiar with the inside area. My GF gave me a pound of Armando's Blend for Christmas last year! Hopefully, I'll get it again this year.
