So much cuter on the inside than you might expect! I live down the street and have walked by this unassuming restaurant multiple times without giving it another look. I came across a review for this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try a couple weekends ago. It was delicious and definitely different than the traditional crepes you might get in a French creperie. The specialty crepes have all kinds of interesting ingredients, and you can make your own crepe combo if the options don't entice you. Definitely an authentic crepe though. (Probably due the fact that the French colonized parts of Algeria back in the day...) The interior of the restaurant is very cool with an authentic middle eastern flair, so cute. Also they serve delicious ice cream from Peterson's in Oak Park, a little mom-and-pop shop in the burbs. I went back here the following week and definitely will go again!
Authentic little Middle Eastern crepe shop that seems like it would fit in somewhere on the streets in Europe. I went with my mom and sister and we all loved it. My mom got the turkish coffee and she said it was great. I don't drink coffee all that often, so I got tea which had a nice flavor. It wasn't the kind of tea that you had to dump a bunch of sweetener in just for it to taste decent. I got a crepe that had spinach, sunflower seeds, cheese and a bunch of other stuff in it and it was so fresh and yummy. I totally recommend this quaint little nook for breakfast or an early lunch, or even for an evening snack or turkish coffee or tea.

What a pleasant surprise to find this tasty little place down the street from my apartment.
I normally go to La Creperie to get my crepe fix, but some of my friend's were talking about it and we decided to go. My bf and I split the Chicago crepe (minus cilantro for me of course!) and our server was so gracious to have them actually cut the crepe in half and serve it to us on 2 seperate plates. We also order the strawberry and nutella crepe to split and it was yummy!
To go with our crepes, we ordered the turkish coffee and I'm not sure how I feel about it...it's a very unique flavor that can take some getting used to. Not my favorite, but definitely worth trying.
I love this place! I love the sweet crepes here. My favorites are the banana with chocolate and almonds, and the kiwi and strawberry (I get it with chocolate instead of nutella). The presentation is so pretty and the food is even better. It comes with a scoop of Peterson's ice cream on the side, which is soooo good (I may be biased because I grew up going to Peterson's).
The owner is so nice and welcoming, he always greets you as his friend. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I think every time I visit I've seen people ordering the Turkish coffee.
My only complaint is that sometimes service can be a bit slow, other than that this place is great.
I recently became obsessed with this place....and came twice in one week. The nutella and banana crepe is good, as well as the icosium (savory) which has goat cheese, carmelized onions, peppers, and i think pine nuts. With all sweet crepes you get a scoop of ice cream, and the pistachio was delicious (and im not a huge fan of pistachio ice cream).
The dulce de leche coffee is DELICIOUS. This would be a dangerous place for my waistline if i loved close by! Also, its a good place to have lunch before visiting the Zoo or the Conservatory!

This place is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. Truly a hidden gem! The crepe's are very tasty & fresh. The prices are extremely reasonable. The service is friendly. I recommend take-out during peak times, as the venue is small and waiting 20 min for a table is not uncommon. My favorite is the Chicago crepe, and my girlfriend likes the Paris crepe.
I went here for lunch on my 40th birthday before visiting Lincoln Park Zoo. It was so incredible. These were the best crepes I've ever had. I had the palace crepe. Can't wait to return!

I am a big fan of supporting the local business and this place makes me feel glad that I do. You are in for a truly authentic experience here. What's a little strange is that crepes are French but this place is more Algerian. Whatever it is, the food is excellent. Whether you want a sweet or savory crepe, the food is great. I ordered the Cheka Chouka and it was dee-licous. I also ordered a latte that is probably the best latte I have had in years (and I chin that up against some of the finest coffees). Great service. We went on Sunday around 10am and it wasn't crowded. This is one of the very few places in Chicago that lets you take your time. They don't rush you out--how refreshing.

The best Algerian Crepe spot on Clark between Fullerton and Diversey.
Seriously, good Turkish coffee - it does take about 5 minutes for them to make it though, so make sure you have time to spare. Algerian lamb sausage is pretty incredible.
Waited until they opened at 9:00AM - So glad we did! The service was helpful and lighthearted. The coffee (dulce de leche and turkish) was excellent. I ordered the Greek Crepe. Zesty and filled with exciting flavors (feta, cured olives, Roma tomatoes, spinach, cilantro, garlic). My friend raved about her Cheka Chouka (roasted peppers, carmelized onion, spinach, goat cheese...) and her Dad loved his meal, especially the merguez (lamb sausage). Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded until after 10AM.
Will definitely return.

I agree both that there are better crepes out there and that this place has a very distinct charm that can make your morning. The service was really nice, which was surprising considering my companion and I were the only two in the restaurant. Often that can make it awkward thinking that the server can hear all your intimate breakfast details, but ours did a good job keeping distance. Most of all though, I was impressed that as we ordered coffee he mentioned that he would like to brew a fresh pot so would we mind a 7 or so minute wait. Of course not! Thank you for being so upfront about wanting to make us a nice cup of coffee.
My butter and sugar crepe was nice enough and very large. I would have liked a bit more butter, but adding it after having arrived to the table solved all woes. My friend had a sweet crepe that was also nice, but vastly outdone by the pistachio ice cream. Most likely that should really be seen as an endorsement for having ice cream for breakfast.
All in all, a fine place for a crepe and coffee.
We decided on this place for a light breakfast and we both had a craving for a crepe. We found parking right away and didn't have to wait to be seated. The staff was very nice and service was quick.
We ordered a ham, egg and cheese crepe and a Crepe D'Amour which was filled with fresh raspberries and nutella. The D'Amour came with a little scoop of ice cream too, and I also got the most perfect cup of Dulce de Leche! Man was it good. The ham, egg and cheese crepe was also really good and perfect for breakfast.

I haven't tried all the crepes yet, but I'm well on my way. My current favorite is the Greek crepe with the Algerian lamb sausage with a scoop of green tea ice cream.
Oh and the Turkish coffee is not to be missed. It's the only coffee in the entire city where I don't feel let down, over priced, or boring when I go out for a cup.
I love this place! Breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert...it's wonderful. Usually I get the Chicgo or Incosium Crepe for lunch or dinner & a Dulce de Leche. However, I also love building my own crepe so I can have whatever I'd like.
The Algerian mint tea is also delicious & the service is usually great.
One of my favorite places to go in my neighborhood :).

This place is really cute. It looks like a whole in the wall from the outside, but when you enter - i was surprised to find a small cosy little restaurant. The service was absolutely amazing - they were very personable with us.
I went on a saturday afternoon. We both got authentic Algerian savory crepes and it was unlike anything I've had before (in a good way). If you don't like to try different things - then maybe this place isn't for you. They came with a small soup which was good too. I got a south african tea which was excellent. I will definetly come back to this place and recommend it if you're in a cute lunch date type of mood!

I went to Crepe and Coffee Palace on a recent visit to Chicago with my boyfriend. We were there for lunch and had a great time. The place was surprisingly empty, but I guess it was a week day, and it did start to get more crowded as we were leaving.
The food is Algerian, with a touch of French: mostly crepes, but with Mediterranean/North-African ingredients. We shared the Palace Crepe (roasted peppers, arugula, caramelized onions, tomatoes, pine nuts etc..) and the Crepe Marrakech (almonds, raisins, spinach, cream cheese, tapanade...) and both of them were very tasty and filling. So much for our initial intention to get dessert: we were just stuffed after finished our first course. We had some mint tea, and it was great.
Not to forget: the service was extremely friendly. I'd definitely go back.

I love this place!
From the outside, this place seems random and a bit of a hole in the wall, but it's so good! This place is not about the ambiance but the delicious food and good service. The owner is always nice, and even remembered my friend and I after our first visit. Both times I've gotten the Egg&Cheese Crepe, and the Aziz (nutella, straweberries, and kiwi). I love how they serve cucumber water, and decorate the dessert ones with a umbrella :) I love it, and I really want some right now!

My friend recently went on a trip to France, and she's been craving crepes like crazy. (Say that last part three times fast.) So after a delicious dinner at Sage, we headed over to the Crepe and Coffee Palace for dessert. Yes, we were feeling indulgent that night. Despite how full we were from pasta, though, we completely devoured our crepes (she had banana/nutella and I had the d'amour). They were absolutely delicious! And our server was so helpful and attentive. This is such a great little spot and I look forward to coming back. I may even try the savory ones the next time around.
I love this place for a quick breakfast or lunch. Everything is very fresh and the service is friendly. I never get the sweet breakfast crepes since I don't have much of a sweet tooth. The others I have tried have all been great. The crepes come with a soup, I recommend the vegetable. I also love the water with cucumber in it. It just seems to add a little touch of freshness.
I came with four girlfriends for dinner one night. We all ordered different crepes and we all *LOVED* them! I had the Chicago crepe at the waiter's suggestion and was not disappointed. But I am looking forward to something new on my next trip there because there were so many yummy sounding options. Our waiter was very attentive (it was a week night, and I think there were only 1 or 2 other tables there). He noticed us giving birthday gifts to one of the girls and surprised her with this adorable & delicious dessert crepe. He even decorated it with those litle boat drink umbrellas and birthday candles... it was so cute! I can't give it 5 stars because the decor is nothing special, so the ambiance is pretty limited, but food & service were awesome. I'll be back for sure and can't wait to bring my hubby!

My boyfriend brought me here and I fell in love with the Crepe Aziz. Strawberries, kiwi and nutella, how can that be wrong? He prefers the non sweet crepes but it works out and we share. I definitely recommend!
If I'm not mistaken, this space has been a creperie for over 3 years...Anyway, the current twist on crepes (Algerian) is pretty good. I had the Icosium Crepe (red bell peppers, roma tomato, basil, goat cheese, fresh basil, pinenuts), which was the most "authentic" (considering the colonial history of Algeria) according to the waitress. I forgot how much I really hate goat cheese, so that ruined the crepe for me.
Anyway, the portions are great, ingredients high-quality, and decor fun. Oh and the crepes come with a small (it is pretty small) soup. I got the "vegetable" soup- obviously a translation error. It did have veggies- some kind of squash with cinnamon and something else. VERY yummy. I'm still uncomfortable with the price tag for lunch- $8.95. But, I'm cheap.
The Algerian tea with honey was yummy too. They even put fresh mint leaves for garnish. Nice touch!
All in all, nice place if you like crepes of all sorts.

I came here for dinner with friends one evening and really enjoyed my savory crepe. The service leaves a bit to be desired, hence the 3 stars instead of 4. I had some kind of crepe with pine nuts and tons of spices. Yum! Next time i'll save room for a dessert crepe as well. Hopefully the service will allow me to bump this rating up next time.

I absolutely loved the savory crepes.....Small lil place in Lincoln Park area.... I really enjoyed reading off the walls while waiting for the food and chatting w/ friends.....Have been there only once, but I liked it.....
The gentleman who was serving us was nice...he made sure we were satisfied with what we ordered.....
The best thing I liked about this place was "Build Your Own Crepes"
I'd definitely visit again...

I discovered non-dessert crepes when I lived in Singapore and started looking for them ever since I moved to Chicago! Didn't really find much until this place!
They do great non-sweet crepes and I think if you're really fond of crepes, definitely check this place out!!!
I had their veg soup - large portion but very very good! And then the recommended crepe - I think it's the Icosium. And to end with - great coffee!!!
I didn't wanna leave this place and wanted to keep eating more, but had to get back to work (and I had already stuffed myself as much as possible)! ;)

VERY smoky front room (hello smoking ban!) and the food is enjoyable, but not novel. The crepes are all pretty standard, and the presentation is nothing to get exicted about. However, if you're in the mood for a darn fine crepe in a relaxing, no-frills environment, this is the place for you. Pretty cheap, too!

Friendly service, delicious crepes and great coffee. I like the sweet crepes much more than the savory. The owner is on-premise most days, and is such a nice person!

We found this place while walking down Clark one night and we always go back! Their entree crepes are really good for really cheap and their dessert crepes are AMAZING!! We always eat half of our entree crepes and save room for dessert. I would recommend a nutella and belgian chocolate crepe with some kind of fruit (it comes with ice cream for free.
Faboooo. I had never had a crepe before coming here. A group of friends and I were walking by while looking for a place to hang out. They wanted Crepes and I wanted Coffee. However, I decided to try the crepe with fresh strawberries, kiwi, nutella and whipped cream. WOW! I couldn't believe how cool and good it was. The presentation was great. The portion was perfect! The coffee was even really good. Awesome service. Brought me plenty of cucumber-ade (water with a slice of cucumber). If you are in the area, stop in for some crepes and coffee. A refreshing cousin to the pie and coffee.

Yum yum. Crepes here are awesome, but it's the coffee that keeps me coming back. The owner is from Algeria, and the coffee is imported from somewhere around there (can't remember exactly where), and it's unspeakably good. Crepes are served with a bowl of soup, which is a nice accompaniment.

This is our most favorite place in the whole of Lincoln Park. A savory crepe - I usually go for build my own crepe - (Organic mix green, roasted peppers, olives, sun dried tomatoes tapanade, cilantro, ikosium dressing, cashews) and this has never gone wrong in the past 2 years !
I love the Crepe - Amar (belgian chocolate with strawberries) for dessert.
'n nothing to beat the Dul ce Leche for a cup of coffee - mind you, two can share that one.
Also, if you're looking for something light after a heavy meal, go for the mint tea..its really really refreshing !
The staff has been as friendly as can be, especially when the main guy - Abdul's around. He treats us like family now ! The crepes are perfect - never overdone, and they may not be the conventional crepes ( I tried La Creperie once, and really did n't like it) but they make an awesome 'n hearty meal.

This place was amazing! I had a non-dessert crepe and loved it. Very different. Super fresh ingredients! For sure a great place to try if you are willing and looking to try something unusual.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in the neighborhood. It's charming and quaint with friendly service and, most importantly, the crepes are awesome. While I've often found the chicken overcooked, nearly every other ingredient I've ordered has been fresh and delicious. The soups, which are included with crepes, are light and intriguingly spiced yet subtle, unlike the salt water that passes for soup at most restaurants. Because the griddles are at the front of the restaurant, it can get pretty warm inside, but that makes it a perfect place to go in the winter. One of my favorite places to meet friends for lunch and/or to take visitors. Oh, and did I mention how reasonable the prices are?

Holy crepe, this place rules.
Like Julia, I've never really ventured to the sweet side of the menu (although I'll have to indulge in the Belgian dark chocolate crepe one of these days), choosing instead to explore the selection of savory crepes (my fav is the Crepe de Paris -- roasted garlic, brie and escargot -- oui, please!).
They also serve some pretty darn good Turkish-style coffee (which I was totally schooled in when I didn't let the grounds settle long enough before drinking -- take the lesson from me, and you'll save yourself from getting a mouthful and a bit of TOTAL MORTIFICATION).
And since it's down the street from the Landmark, it's a nice place to hit up before a movie.

Crepes with Nutella... I dream of them sometimes. After having crepes in Paris off the road.. I dragged the husband here. Poor guy , he is resigned to my chocolate fixation.I was a bit disappointed with the crepe I got. Was too crepey! (not sure if there is such a word, but makes my point) And I felt like there wasn't enough of my favorite crack, Nutella. The owner was really sweet, asking us if we knew the Indian guy who owned a hookah place down the street. I don't know why when you say you are from Mumbai, people assume you know someone. My husband finished the crepe and loved it... at least it didn't go waste.
Went for weekend brunch, and wasn't too crowded at 11. The savory breakfast crepe--ham and cheese--was pretty average. However the dessert crepe--raspberries and Belgian chocolate--was yummy and satisfying. Service was friendly and overall great for a low-key Saturday morning!

The look of this cafe is definitely unique. It is brightly colored and the decor inside is pretty eclectic (maps & hookahs etc.). I tried two crepes- the egg & cheese and the raspberry & Bavarian chocolate. I have to say both were good, but I definitely prefer ed the dessert crepe. I was a little disappointed because the crepe was thicker than I've had previously, but still tasty. I was originally really excited about the prospect of trying Turkish coffee for the first time, but then I wimped out when the waitress told me it was like espresso. I did get a regular coffee, which came in a huge mug and took me quite a while to finish. Prices aren't too bad and the wait staff was attentive. Overall, I had a good experience, so I recommend it if you live nearby.

Love this place. Such a unique restaurant, especially in the area. I used to live right around the corner, which meant that I stopped by often. Now that I live much further away, I really miss this place. I can't get crepes like this anywhere else. Absolutely delicious. My favorite is the Crepa de Roma. Mmm, capers on crepes. The atmosphere is pretty cool too.

I have no idea what everyone's raving about. I went here to get a non-desert crepe, and it was disgusting! I got a Greek crepe, which had feta, spinach, olives, garlic (too much!) and tomatoes. It also had another ingredient, parsley. Lots of it. I'm not kidding, there was about 3 cups of parsley in my crepe and on top of my crepe. I tried my hardest to pick apart the thing, but with the feta cheese not melted and in 1 inch cubes, it was a bit hard. I finally gave up and scraped the thing clean to eat it plain. It still tasted like parsley and garlic.
Two stars (not one) because I do want to try a sweet crepe.
Best crepe place in the city! Very pleasant place, the owner is a sweetie who seems to know all of his customers. They have the best coffee drinks out there. Wonderful sweet and savory crepes to choose from and daily specials thrown in. Interesting decor and calming arabic music in the background. And who doesn't love having the daily paper to read while sitting over a fresh, hot breakfast crepe. Ahhhh it's heaven! Oh yeah, I never have to wait for a table, now that's perfection in my book.
