I needed so badly a manicure and pedicure after days upon days scuba diving in Kauai and Oahu because as all scuba divers alike know too well that salt water is wickedly evil to your skin and hair!
Before hiking up to Diamond Head State Park, I stopped by Creative Nails and Diamond Head Beauty Salon to see my hairstylist, Camille Ano which both business are located in the same shopping center.
FYI: The BUS stops right in front of both Creative Nails and Diamond Head Beauty Salon.
I had my manicure and pedicure done first at Creative Nails whose manicurists all pay strict attention to manicuring details. Please keep in mind that Creative Nails is definitely NOT a turnstyle nail salon, so please do allot for ample time to obtain the most outstanding, relaxing manicure/pedicure for your money's worth!
Relax in the spa chair and get that much needed shiatsu massage. Also, all Creative Nail manicurists give outstanding leg, hand and arm massage during your manicure/pedicure session!
After receiving my manicure/pedicure at Creative Nails and my hairstyling by Camille Ano at Diamond Head Beauty Salon which is located in a very cool, convenient neighborhood in Waikiki on the way to Diamond Head State Park, I felt tranquil, very relaxed, feeling wonderfully refreshed looking forward to my 760 foot climb to Diamond Head!
Heads Up! You MUST bring ample quantities of snacks, no less than 3 liters of water in your Camelbak and a quart-size water spray mister for your hike up to Diamond Head because you will need every last drop to cool you off and ward off hunger for almost a 2-hour hike one way!
Open Mon-Sat 0900 - 7:30
Sunday 0900 - 5:00
Found out about this place from one of my many cousins. She lives within walking distance, although she insisted on driving here. We arrived about 0930 on Saturday morning, as a walk-in. Althought the a/c originally was not working when we got there, they had it on within 15 minutes. The spa pedicure was great. Included was exfoliation.
They passed around a tray of sample designs. I got coconut trees on my big toes! See pic! Fun in paradise.
The manicurist was a man (not the most gentle). He started out nice enough. I showed him a cracked nail. I wanted it cut. He wanted to glue it. I didn't want to take the chance of it ripping again. Especially since the chances of it coming off were going to increase when I started packing my suitcases & boxes. I got him to cut it, but not much. I didn't want to waste time in an argument, especially on vacation.
I asked him to shape my nails exactly how they were when I first got there. He agreed. Although he shaped them differently. I showed him my other hand. He did it the way I wanted. Although he turned into mr. grumpy, for the remainder of the manicure.
I'd go there again, for a pedicure. I would however, choose a female manicurist next time around.
It's probably best to drive here, as it rained heavily when we left! I forgot about tropical showers. Either that or bring an umbrella. After giving it some thought, maybe not, it would most likely mess up your nails, after pressing the release button.
