I came here after a volunteer event and just to sit down and grab a few drinks with some of the people I met.

The environment is pretty average "korean drinking places" feel, laid back, dark, and lots of tables.  We ordered 2 huge dispensers of BLUE MOON :)  Mmmmm, the only downside was our beer kept leaking through the dispenser!  But they did replace it!  So :)

I only had a few bites of the food they ordered, but it was pretty decent.  I would come back here again with friends for a chill night to drink.

I'm fairly certain that smoking is banned in any establishment in LA, but it certainly seem like it's NOT the case at this place.  If you can stand all the second hand smoke or if you're a smoker yourself, this is your place!  Other than that, they have pretty cheap combos (which makes a night out drinking easy on the wallet)..  everytime I come here, my friends and I order the "beer tower"..  $24.99 for 2000cc Bud/Bud Light and a dish of your choice from the menu... $27.99 if you want Coors/Michelob...   there is the happy hour (which I have yet to try)..

I brought a friend visiting from Korea here and he kept laughing the whole night talking about how he feels like he's back in Korea when we're at this place.. so I guess this place is quite authentic! Hahaha..  o ya.. did I mention there's a pirate theme going on?

didn't really know what to expect- the pirate theme was def interesting...hahaha

I met up with a group of friends who live in ktown and we were there just in time for happy hour which ends at 8pm- the food goes back to regular price and the music is pumping much more loudly...thought i was at a club for a sec...haha

we ordered blue moon...strawberry soju- tasted like juice but still ok..and we had makkgoli which was good

for food: nachos were a-ok, the chicken wings...the WINGS! were my fav....we got it spicy and I was surprised at how juicy and meaty they were- I was expecting them to be small and shriveled up from being deep fried but they were huge..and the sauce was really tasty...mmmmMmMm. the chicken quesadillas were ok too

    service: not too bad...

atmosphere: fun place to hang and drink with your friends...def a good deal to come for happy hr. if you hate smoke, they prohibit it...but every now and then some punk tries to sneak in a smoke or leaves a nasty trail behind him...either way, the workers let them know that is not. ok.

OH! and this place also has korean music videos playing on flat screens if thats ur thing

Not a bad place to go. Service is surprisingly pretty good. Their thing is the beer bong looking pitchers which are pretty cool. Food is def 2 stars, kinda sucked. We got the:

boneless spicy chicken- VERY small portions, way too spicy
seafood pancake- def recommend, big portion and filling
    chicken feet- gross
    shrimp potato- not worth it

So, wouldn't come here to eat dinner. They had valet which was only $2. Pretty roomy inside, can come w/ a couple friends or a big group.

One of the very few places where if I walk out drunk off my ass, heartburn like a mofo, and slurringly belting out rated ARRRRRRRRRR pirate jokes, I'm a genuinely happy man.

This place satisfies 3 of my most inner desires:
    1) Booze.  And lots of it.  Gallon sized pitchers of beer at your table in a tall, bong like beer dispenser.
    2) Spicy food.  Enough to give me heartburn.  There's only 2 places I've gotten heartburn in my life.  Here, and doing the Orochon #2 spicy ramen challenge.  That's it.  I'm Korean.  Heartburn is foreign to me.  But this place satisfies my spicy food craving and gives me that warm fuzzy feeling... in my chest.
    3) Pirate fantasies?  Ok maybe #3 isn't really an inner desire, but where else in this world can you eat, drink and be merry in a pirate themed restaurant outside of Disneyland, and outside of elementary school.  Yea, nowhere.  Only at Crazy Hook.

In the end, the food and drinks are good, the service is good, and the theme is one of a kind.  I don't go to Ktown often, but whenever I do I always end up at CH.

Yeah, Crazy Hook is a comfortable place with interesting decor; I just don't think it's worth paying the extra money for. If you really know Ktown, then you should know that their beer towers/combos are at least a few bucks more than other comparable places. But if people are willing to pay for that, that's cool. I'm just trying to ball on a budget :-D And Ktown suljips have to be pretty competitive since there are so many options.

They do have happy hour until 9:30 which is a plus. So probably a better place to start than to ever come for ee-cha. ( Round 2) And it's got more open space and no smoking inside, if that's important to you.

Generally it seems to me that the Korean-American/gyopo kind of hangout places are more expensive, and the more no frills/real Korean places are a better value...Dan Sung Sa, DGM, Han Shin PoCha, Bbuggugi, Nandarang, Sanjang, etc. Probably less drama too. *cough cough* Unless you like nonsensical fights and princessy behavior. ;)

I chuckled a bit when i walked into this pirate themed bar. The scattered statues of stereotypical pirates and dark interior seemed a little cheesy yet really fun. They staggered flat screens high up on the walls playing kpop and i was sold on the idea. We ordered 5000CC of beer. I have no idea how much Blue Moon that actually even is! Combined with an entree combo and it seemed like the best deal for my beer drinking friends and i.  I loved their spicy chicken and rice cake noodles. It's spicy korean food that really hits the spot! I would eat this dish every late night out after some bars.  Their fried calamari was decent but it didn't take the cake. Crazy Hook was so chill about our intoxicated induced shenanigans.

I only wish San Francisco had a district offering a shockingly low $2 valet.

First of all. What? A pirate-themed watering hole that smells worst than the locker room of the LA Lakers? What on earth is that smell in this restaurant? I read another review about the smell and shrugged it off but holy hell do I wish I'd listened. This place SMELLS so bad that its hard to enjoy the food, which isn't that great to begin with. The waitstaff was nice which is uncommon since we're not Korean, so I gave two stars for that and because the huge beer dispensers are cool.

    Food
    1. I ordered the bulgogi because its one of my favorite dishes. It was under seasoned and didn't taste all that great.
    2. My roommate ordered the sweet and sour chicken and it actually tasted ok.

Tips for having a good time at Crazy Hook

    1. Wear nose plugs
    2. Get somewhat wasted before arriving
    3. Be Korean
    4. Speak Korean

4 Star drinking establishment. The last one is for the theme. Whatever happens with the party, you can always note the Pirates of the Caribbean piracy (hah!)

Whenever I come here, it's always a good time. You see life-size pirate figures everywhere, the roof looks like a sail canvas, wood and netting to add the final touches. With it are large plasma TV's playing Asian pop music videos. Sometimes it matches with what they are actually playing on the speakers, sometimes not - but it doesn't matter. This place exudes ridiculousness in the best ways possible.

We had a great server who hooked us up and even took shots with us - which helped because we ended up with 2 extra bottles. Prices are a bit high, but the combos with the included food make it the most sensible choice.

Potato skins are delicious, as are the nachos. The kim chi pancake is amazing cheesy goodness. The sausage and noodles were decent.

They also have yogurt soju here. Street parking. 21+. Smoking inside.

Usual K-Town party place. Definitely good for groups.

Well, the food here is okay, depending on what you order. Some of the grilled and fried meat stuff is good. Some stuff could be better (e.g. the shrimp pasta is drowning in its sauce; they should call it the 'Shrimp Noodle Soup').

Drinks: The usual fare. Sure they have the beer towers but so does every other K-town bar.

I do not like the cigarette smoke here. Take note of that if it bugs you.

Just like the one in Seoul- everything from the giant beer towers to the service buttons on the tables. Loved it! What's more fun that sitting in a pirate-themed restaurant, watching K-pop videos, and munching on anju (while drinking copious amounts of soju and beer of course)? My only complaint is that my date and I were brought forks instead of chopsticks when we sat down. Just because I'm not Korean doesn't mean I can't enjoy a good Korean meal the proper way!! I lived in Korea for Christ's sake! (I'll chalk it up to the Koreans' good hospitality to "foreigners"... but still!)

The food / soju is a bit pricey if you're not there during happy hour (I wasn't), but all in all it isn't any more expensive than other Korean places I've tried in the area. My dishes had far more onions than actual meat (chicken, octopus), but everything was delicious. Parking is a bit annoying, but then again, this is LA, so that was to be expected. I'll be back very soon... Plan on taking advantage of happy hour next time though!

Crazy Hook is a Korean pirate bar on a not-so-happening stretch of Wilshire Boulevard.  It's decorated with yard sale pirate statues and giant pictures of Captain Jack Sparrow, found in lazy Google Image searches and printed onto cloth banners.  Rope and netting hang from the ceiling, and the theme is repeated in almost every aspect of the decor.  (Between pirate paraphernalia, flatscreen TVs hang on the walls, but hey, why not.)  It's a lot of fun, and I'm not sure why ironic white people haven't laid claim to the place.

Oh, right.  It's also supremely Korean.  The music is strictly provided by bands with names like 2NE1 and Shiny, and if you go on a festive night, you will hear a Korean pop "Happy Busday" song every half hour.  The menu consists of Korean bar favorites, and when you want service, you press the good-old button.  Your servers will not be busty wenches, but skinny Korean boys in their twenties.  The crowd is likewise almost 100% Korean.  Expect lots of Korean chatter, loud drinking games, and a hefty dose of cigarette smoke.

But if you're Korean, or if you feel comfortable in a Korean habitat, Crazy Hook is a great place to spend a revelrous night eating and drinking.  There's always plentiful seating, and stuff is pretty cheap.  It requires zero advance planning and there's no hassle or crowd once you get there.

I haven't tried much of the food, but I've liked what I've seen.  As soon as you sit down, you get things to snack on that go great with beer - sweet fried wonton crisps, and pickled cucumber and radish.  You can order food a la carte, but there are so many ways to combine it with your alcohol that price-wise, you're better off getting a set deal.  To give you an idea, a 3000cc tube of beer with your choice of any one dish goes for $41 with tax, a few dollars cheaper if you opt for the bottom shelf.  I've had the sweet and sour chicken stir-fry, and it was pretty damn tasty, with moist breaded chicken and lots of vegetables and sauce.

And yes, about that 3000cc tube.  If you wander into Crazy Hook, you'll notice that most tables feature cylinders of beer hovering over the heads of the seated.  The cylinders are equipped with little spigots that allow you to fill up at will.  It's a fun way to drink, and 3000cc is good for about ten full beers.  You can also get larger and smaller sizes, depending on how much beer you can handle.  I like the Blue Moon, which comes with a bowl of orange wedges, but there are a few other options on the menu.  Nothing fancy, but serviceable.

I've only been to Crazy Hook a couple of times, but I have a lot of fondness for the place.  I love the atmosphere, and the food and drink are good and cheap.  Every city should have a Korean pirate bar, but I'm willing to bet we're one of the lucky few.  We should all take full advantage.

One of my go-to places in ktown (the other being gaam). They're a pirate themed korean barrrrrrr. Their beer towers are cool and keep the party rollin. As long as everyone is down to drink, go for the 5000cc.

The workers there are really nice (especially the super tall bouncer) and often hook us up with a complimentary bottle of soju, etc.

Food-wise, the korean sausage dish and kimchi fried rice are tasty! The servings aren't as generous as I'd expect, but they make up for it with their service.

A pirate-themed Korean restaurant. ONLY IN LA.

One word describes this place. HILARIOUS. Tacky print outs of pirates of the Caribbean. The cool thing about this place is that they serve beer in these plastic tubes that look something out of a chemistry lab. The food I wouldn't really call Korean persay, it's more American than anything (pasta, chicken, seafood). It is definitely a great place to kick it with a few friends and drink!

After a 5000cc tube of beer paired with shots upon shots of soju, I found myself walking down Wilshire at around 1AM staggering, laughing at nothing, and almost breaking my ankle in a pot hole... but at the same time thinking shit I had a good night.

So every time I hit up Ktown to visit my friend I pass by crazy hook thinking here is another lame pirate themed place, but a couple of nights ago I found myself drinking in a place of sheer irony.  To my surprise I walk into Crazy hook and find Korean's greeting me and taking me to my table.  I look around and it is apparent that it is a Korean owned pirate themed bar, WTF?

So the best part of this place is the liquor it was 45 bucks for the large tube of beer and 25 bucks for two bottles of Soju.  Not bad considering that you get a free food item accompanying your liquor purchases.  As far as food goes I don't remember how good it tasted but all I know is that it did hit the spot.  When I am drinking my only requirements for food is that it is greasy, salty, and served to me ASAP.

Our drunken night was a mere 25 bucks each for the four of us, not too shabby.  With the money I saved here I really could have sprung for the 2.00 valet that they offered, rather than walking blocks and blocks searching for my freaking car.  One thing that I saw while leaving Crazy Hook was the "C" rating, how did I miss that when I was walking in?  But than again you are so distracted by the pirate crap that is adorned to every corner of this place that I guess you can overlook the rating.  I will come back again but more for the liquor than anything else.

Unfortunately my rating for this spot went down after witnessing several customers...uh, volating California's law in a dining establishment, and the staff didn't seem to care.

However the vibe's cool, the food is interesting.  We ordered the sweet potato gratin... yum. And the sweet and sour chicken.

I'd come back for the happy hour (50% off food) and go for one of their drinks.

I don't remember who first took me to this place but it's so much fun! I haven't been for happy hour but going during their regular hours is not pricey either! One thing that I love about this place is that one of the choices for beer in that big tall dispenser thingie is BLUE MOON. My favorite beer :) ANDDD whenever you order those, you get free food! Anything you want from the menu. Beer + Munchies = Happy Me :)

Do try the mango flavored soju. You cannot taste the soju AT ALL. Which is both good and dangerous at the same time. You know what soju does, you feel fine sitting down but once you stand up, you are buzzed and you don't even know it lol

The bathrooms are a bit gross but not bad compared to other places in Ktown. So if you can, don't let the seal break!

Valet is $2 or $3 but you can also find street parking if you go around the corner a bit.

50% off almost everything on the menu for Happy Hour from 5-9pm daily! The specials are awesome! Great place to drink and snack for cheap.

Food: I don't know what is considered pirate food, but i know for a fact that they have nothing of that nature here. There are a lot of spicy items on the menu and a majority of the menu consists of Korean food.
    1) Spicy Chicken Wings - The spicy chicken wings are really good here. It was my favorite order for the night
    2) Corn Cheese - staple dish at many Korean bars and as the name indicates, it's cheesy corn. It's pretty good
    3) Jumbo Bread - warm, soft, bread that's slightly sweetened with maple syrup and powdered sugar. Very unique and worth ordering during HH.
    4) Shrimp and Potato - cheesy and bland. not worth ordering.

Alcohol: No rum or rum cocktails considering it's a pirate bar...
    1) Soju - Korean Rice Wine
    2) Flavored sojus - pineapple, peach, lemon, strawberry, apple, yogurt (spelled "yogrut" at the restaurant), and a few others.
    2) Beer - Coors Light, Bud Light, Blue Moon, OB, Hite, and a few others. You can actually order beer in a beer tower that can hold 2000cc to 5000cc!

They were out of peach soju, but the lemon soju was a good subsitute. Definitely safe for 'asian flush' sufferers like me, so drink up!

I've passed this place several times and always thought the theme of Pirates is pretty awesome for a restaurant so one day I decided to go with my Fiance. As we approached the door I was a little hesitant to go in because they were graded a "C" but I was starving and we were already there so we said what the hell lets try it.

We ordered the spicy chicken, tofu salad, a seafood platter, and a rice plate with korean bbq on it.

we first got our beer which was blue moon in one of those 2000 cc. That was awesome! So good

All in all we paid 46.00 for everything because it was happy hour. so we basically had 8 blue moons and the meals.

The food was amazing I was very impressed with it all and I will def be going back

Happy Hour Review - Daily, 5-9pm, 50% off most food menu items (and there are lots!)

Well, shiver me timbers, I'm just catching on to the Los Angeles pirate bar craze. A couple years late, but hey, is it ever too late for a pirate bar?! Recently, I made my first foray into this magical world at Crazy Hook and their off-the-hook Happy Hour in Koreatown.

I had been looking for a later Happy Hour in the Mid-Wilshire area to stop by before a friend's short film premiere (it's awesome, btw, check it out!). I had three friends from three of social circles in tow - Ad-Bot of the WeHo Connection, TG from work & play, and my flame-haired boozin' buddy, Booze - and I needed to find a place that everyone would enjoy. Luckily, I came across great Happy Hour reviews for Crazy Hook's 5-9pm Happy Hour on Yelp and knew I had my winner.

So, I picked up the gang and didn't tell them where we were going until we got there... SURPRISE! The whole group was stoked, they hadn't been to a pirate bar either. And besides the awesome décor, we were even more impressed with the phenomenal Happy Hour prices. From 5-9pm daily, all food (sans a couple special items) are  1/2 off. There are no drink specials during HH, but Crazy Hook has you covered with their mega-tube dispensers of a wide selection of beers.

Our gang ordered 5 food items and 2,000cc of Blue Moon ($19.99) and ya'll - we only paid $60 w/ tip (or $15/person) for all that stuff!! Ad-bot got the fire chicken for $6.59, and us girls shared orders of the Happy Hour-priced $4.99 items: shrimp spring rolls, sweet potato fries (we thought we had ordered the Sweet Potato Gratin dish, but were fine with the Sweet Potato fries we received instead!), and the Ultimate Nachos. We also got a $4.99 order of a delightful carb-filled treat I'd read about on Yelp - Jumbo Bread, oven baked white bread topped with honey butter and maple syrup.

The food was all delicious, seriously. And the scene was way fun all the way from the pirate statues to the billowing sails-ceilings to the call & response waiter system to the Asian-style pop music playing in the background. It's a shame that Koreatown takes 45 minutes to get to from the Case de JB & JG during Happy Hour commuting - otherwise, Crazy Hook might become a regular Happy Hour to take visiting guests to! Also, wish it was closer so we could make our next pirate bar stops at R Bar & downtown's Redwood Bar sooner!

The first time i was here, it was just another Korean bar but I had a good time with good food last night.  We ordered the spicy chicken and the fries, and BOTH were great.  We practically inhaled the chicken because it was so good.  The fries were perfectly crispy and stayed that way even when it got cold.  I usually hate cold fries but these fries were still good!  We were eating so much I almost forgot about my alcohol. =]

Oh the decor is pirate themed, so it is interesting..  For the beer drinkers, they have those really tall beer things that you put on your table and pour, but I don't drink a lot of beer so I didn't order that.  The only recommendation I have is to please clean the bathrooms...

Pirate themed korean bar?  Sounds awesome! And it's pretty cool when you walk in and see the decor and the tall bong-like beer towers.  But the waiter's aren't dressed up like pirates, the food/soju is more expensive compared to other places :(  Fun place to check out but I don't know if I'll be a regular here.

I always fail at korean bbqs because I fail at ayce and I usually end up doing my own little aycd. And yes, I detest soju, but for some reason kbbq's make me love it (until the next morning).

Either way, we had just come from dinner at Moodaepo II and I had done a good share of getting my soju and beer on, and my roommate decides to take us to this place called Crazy Hook.

I had never been there, but I knew it was going to be a pretty awesome night when I walk in and come face to face with a pirate statue. A pirate! Oh man was I entertained. Though I know it must have been the soju talking, I loved the decor, no matter what, you can't possibly go wrong with pirates, drinking and bar food.

No matter what I was sold.

And once the beer tower came out, I was sold even more. Though I don't remember much of that evening, I did know that I'd be back to Crazy Hook - it would only be crazy not to be hooked on it. And no, I'm not drinking soju now.

This place is perfect for those who have fetishes for Korean pirates.  Korean pirates don't drink rum....they drink cocktail/flavored soju and listen to kpop.  Korean pirates eat traditional korean food as well as quesadillas.  Korean pirates don't say "Arr! Look alive, Ye Scurvy Scalliwags!", but rather only speak Korean.  In sum, nothing besides the decor, has any relevance to pirates.

The main attraction of this place are their 5000cc (that's over 1 gallon) towers of beer.  Apparently they also used to serve their cocktail/flavored soju in Patron bottles, but ours were only served in pitchers.

The foods alright.  Their happy hour is half off of EVERYTHING that's on the menu....except for the last page.  Stars mean its their recommended items.  Chili peppers indicated spicyness (even 1 chili pepper sign got me sweating).

The men's bathroom's has these tears in the wall right above both urinals.  My guess is that they installed it a little too high for some short Korean men.  Fortunately for them, their short stature is compensated more than enough by their egos.

I just wish I understood what was happening.  I stumbled upon this place via yelp, and was sold at the term "pirate themed korean" and "happy hour". Yeah, that'll get me anywhere real quick.

My dad and I swung by after checking out the Getty Villa (gorgeous!) and it was COMPLETELY empty at 6 on a Sunday. Granted, it was Superbowl Sunday, but still. It was a little eerie.  My dad and I got a big roomy booth in the middle of the boat, er, I mean restaurant.

So let me break this down part by part.

As far as the atmosphere, what the hell? I am incredibly confused. You're inside of a boat, but there's pirate broads hanging from the ceilings? and there's sheets and lots of wood everywhere. I can dig it, but I'm a bit confused. I like themes.

However, there is a lot conflicting with the theme.  The food does offer some traditional Korean food... alongside potato skins and quesodillas.  Now, I figure that they anticipate lots of drunk kids running in needing some quick classic food, but I am a big fan of Korean, and offering nachos at a Korean restaurant is just confusing.

That said, I wouldn't go back unless it was for happy hour.  Apparently, from 5-9 (if I'm not mistaken) ALL food is 50% off. That makes me nervous.

Now, here's the reason I'd go back.

If you check out the pictures, they have gigantic tubes of beer. That is what I want.

Now, my dad was not in the mood to drink and was driving, so I just got the small beer, but it is a great value for how much booze you're getting. I love me some Blue Moon, and will gladly drink it out of a
    novelty tube.

That being said, the food was barely mediocre, but the prices and beer tubes saved it from the worst.

when i heard it was pirate themed, i was really confused. i thought it mightve been like a dress up halloween place for some reason? with waiters and waitresses wearing costumes and fake birds, but no. there is one fake pirate man who sits in the entrance, but aside from that, it's actually not THAT pirate themed so no need to dress up folks! lol

anyway, this place is really chilllll. definitely good for groups. they have yummy soju (i dont even like to drink, but it did taste good). their giant yard/foot/meter whatever of beer. some yummy foods though!

bring a deck of cards and maybe place some dice games, because you'll probs be there for a while!

First thing I have to say about this place is that they allow smoking. While some of the patrons were considerate enough to go outside to smoke there were people who didn't seem to care about the people around them and kept puffing away in the restaurant...for this reason I would never go back.

Went here for a birthday party and couldn't stop staring at the cheesy pirate pictures on the walls and hanging from the ceilings. Also found an interesting mix of people in the crowd from Korean to hipster.

That said, the first thing the group did was order the 5000ml tower of beer and some food dishes. Since we had so many people/dishes I dont think I could go through the list of what was ordered but everything was great. The spiciness level was pretty high but I loved it...it seemed to much for others in the group so be warned. If you're a chicken wing fan...order them...they were excellent.

The tower of beer was cool when it showed up but not something I would go back for or order again. Unless you have a lot of people ready to fill their cups, all of that beer is simply sitting on the table getting warm. The other thing is everyone keeps saying what a great deal these towers are but they are more expensive than going somewhere else and ordering pitchers of beer. The $20 2000ml is about 7 oz more than your standard pitcher which you can pick up for about 12-15...do the math.

So unless they stop allowing smoking I wont be back. If I did go back I would go with a group of friends for the atmosphere and food.

I've driven by this place many times last year when my friends use to live a few blocks down, but finally went here for the first time recently for a birthday dinner.

    Pirate themed restaurant/bar?  Sounds interesting.

They clearly go all out for it in the decorations. Everything from the wood floors to the pirate statues make you feel like you're on a ship, matey.

But once I took a look at the menu, i realized this place is more bar than restaurant.  They have a good, long happy hour and so prices for almost all food were cut in half. It still was fairly pricey though. The food was common Korean dishes like bulgogi and so on. But not much choices. Good enough, but their menu was obviously geared towards selling drinks more than food.

And that's the main draw (and probably the inspiration for the pirate theme). Alcohol. Sure they sold some drinks like vodka by the bottle (with some food) but since it's Koreatown, it's all about the Soju and its various flavor varieties. We ordered about 5 out of their 6 or 8 flavors and agreed the best flavors were the strawberry and mango ones.  The kiwi and other ones were decent too, but not something we would order again.   The servers were nice enough to make us their guinea pigs for their new "coffee" flavored Soju and gave it to us for free.  To put it politely, my friend described it tasting like medicine. I think it could've used a little more....creamy taste behind it to add to what was just a little black coffee flavoring and soju. Definitely needs some tweaking to work. Keep at it, Crazy Hook.

So koreatown is like our new Hollywood. It's not the oc. It's not the valley. It's not Hollywood.
    Damn it's fun!
Crazy hook is our regular spot. Because gaurenteed drunk within 45 minutes every time.
Why we are regulars. Because it's mellow it's a resturant style bar. They have delicious mango and yogurt soju and a server named tae I lust after.

Booze are expensive but where is it not.
Chamesul fresh and hire pitcher that's the way to go

    Like:
    - Food well priced compared to other Korean restaurants
    - Spicy Squid and Rice cake
    - Pancake
    - Flavored Soju
    - Television played ESPN!

    Dislike:
    None

    Note:
This place is decorated with a pirate theme. I was hoping to see the waiters and waitresses dress like pirates and dames and ask "would you like some kimchi, maitees."

GREAT place for small (4-5 people), medium (5-12 people), and large groups (more than 12 people). Just an OKAY place for a date because although the decorations are fun to take pictures with, the theme of this place is only cause for about 2-3 minutes of conversation.

    Parking:
On Wilshire Blvd. Meters are free after a certain hour. If you park on the street, be careful of the buses that zoom by!

I knew I was in for a good night when I found out I was going to a Korean pirate-themed restaurant/lounge what have you. Supposedly they have a really great happy hour and hopefully I'll get to partake in it one day.

Don't expect to be getting beer from a boring old bottle/can. Think Yardhouse. They are dispensed into a tall beaker-like contraption and you can drink as you please. Pretty cool idea if you ask me but I'm thinking it's because the wait staff is trying to make it easier on themselves by not having to come by the tables so often. I'm not sure if I was hit with the mango soju or not but I think this place serves up the best dukbokki I've ever had. We got the seafood dukbokki and that hot sauce was the best thing I've ever tasted. It was sweet but it was definitely spicy at the same time. Unfortunately, there wasn't much of the rice noodles so I ended up ordering a bowl of rice after and just poured the hot sauce over it. You get mussels, a bunch of squid and seafood pancakes inside. It's like you're fishing for seafood because the bowl is so deep.

Guess what? You can also smoke inside. It's like you're living in a darn ash tray. That's the one thing I don't like.

Perfectly accommodating and affordable for big groups!  50% off during Happy Hour from 5-9pm!

Long story short: We had 11 people in our party, arrive at 8pm on a Saturday night, got seated immediately, ordered a LOT of food and alcohol, bill came out to less than $200, and we got out of there before 10pm!  You can't ask for a better deal than that!

They have a huge selection of alcohol and I am not officially addicted to their STRAWBERRY SOJU!  Omgosh, this is my new favorite drink!  They have like 6-8 different flavors of soju - we tried both mango and strawberry but strawberry is sooo much better!  I wanted to try cranberry too but they were out of it unfortunately.  The guys got one of those huge beer bongs - it was like 3 feet tall!  Very exciting to watch when the server brought it out.

As for food, we ordered deep fried chicken gizzards, habachi beef, korean pancakes, spiny top shell, bacon wrapped mushrooms, bulgogi, deep fried squid, dukbokki, some spicy sausage, some spicy chicken, and a whole bunch of other stuff.  There's a LOT of spicy food on the menu so if you like spicy food, you will definitely be satisfied.  I don't eat spicy food at all but I still had a lot of choices from the 10+ dishes we ordered.

Overall, this is a great deal to order happy hour from because everything is half off before 9pm.  They have a very cool pirate theme too - the owners definitely put some money into this restaurant.

After switching back and forth on what bar we wanted to go to Saturday night, people finally decided to go to Crazy Hook in K-town, simply because they were in K-town eating earlier.

So my friend and I drove a couple of us from Westwood over. Luckily we found parking right outside. Extremely lucky, parking can normally be quite difficult if you aren't willing to make the walk.

I walked in and it was all pirate themed. I wished the people actually dressed up more like pirates too add more to the atmosphere, but no such luck. We found our friends at one of the benches, sat down and ordered the hell out of this place.

    What you need to get:

+ Flavored Soju - Mmm delicious, good flavor, too much ice (they didn't mix it all the way in.) I preferred the yogurt soju and the peach soju; the mango soju was just.... okay.

+ Tower of Beer - Good deal. We got it with blue moon (I mean, if you're with a big group, why get coors when you can get blue moon).

So after 4 pitchers of soju and 2 beer towers shared across the table, at least I, was feeling really buzzed at the end. We even got a free dish out of it because we ordered so much. Great place to go for a good buzz. But overall, I wasn't wowed or impressed by anything. No specials on tap, just the typical beers to choose from. Solid 3 stars.

Totally a fan of this place.
    - Easy to get seats for large parties on weekends too!
    - $2 Valet Parking right in front by the alley
    - Large Beer Pongs
    - Great for bdays, include song and allow cakes
    - Great for your Ktown dinner and drinks for the night
    - Themed Restaurant, rRRRRrrrr!
    - Service is awesome, they actually pay attention to you or hear you out even if you ain't Korean!

    Cons
    - Expensive for certain foods
    - Decent good side of food
    - Probably best for those that love spiciness in their life
    - Parking, if its full you're crapped out of luck cause street parking is hard to find.
    - Most staff knows english pretty well, only some are limited.

Great for Bday gatherings. They take RSVP. The front more secluded room fits up to 30 people. If you have more people, they can reserve the outside long table closest to this room.

Food: Spicy foods. Rice cake dish is good and other more korean dishes. Not much main stream food except for chicken wings.
