Get Your Drunk On with Pirates! Come Here for Happy Hour!
'cause I sure didn't. Missed it by 5 minutes. What a coincidence the waitress took 10 minutes to answer the dang bell. Happy hour is almost half off most of the items.
Appetizers look decent. We had the shrimp rolls. They were all right. Not bad at all.
Soju..16 bucks for a small? wo.
This place has some cool ways to get drunk. They also allow smoking.
Happy hour looks like a deal (over at 8 PM). So if you want to get your drunk on, then this is the spot.
If not, then this is expensive bar food fo sho. EXPENSIVE. So, try and make it to the happy hour. As this is primarily a late night place, there is no trouble finding seating before 8.
AOK, and I might come back to hang or chill with friends. It's an ideal place for that.
Korean Quesadilla? Sure!!!
Half-off Happy Hour with a GIANT bottle of Soju at 13 bucks? OK!
Pirate-Theme-Korean-Hip-Hop-while-old-timer-sport- guys watch baseball on tv?! I'll deal, but really this place is awesome!
Just don't forget to push the button ;-)
This place is awesome! I really should upload some photos. Drinks are good, fruity flavor soju (yogurt and non yogurt) , beer dispenser, lots of fried food. They have this butter toast that is to die for! You have to try this place!
Happy Drinking!
Pirate themed and owned by Koreans sums it up quite well. Think of the Yard House Yard-Sized glasses but with a bong looking contraption that holds beer and a knob to dispense it into your glasses. It's definitely something new that I've never seen before and worth to at least try once in your lifetime. The tables seem to be long and fit a big group so that's a plus. It comes with standard soju and common beers and a decent place to lounge out or get flat out drunk with your friends. Valet was about $2.00 when we went so it's not terribly expensive. Crazy Hook... yarr-you coming?
Pros:
- Unique long bong pipe looking beer dispensers.
- Pirate themed (maybe a con for some? lol)
- Long tables fits big groups.
- Service button.
- Cheap valet fee.
Cons:
- Beer tasted a bit watered down at times.
- Come early or suffer long wait times.
This review is only for Happy Hour, which is from 3 - 8 p.m. on weekdays. They offer a selection of food items for 50% off (maybe 20 items or so?), which is denoted by a heart sticker next to the item on their regular menu. Most of the food items are either spicy or fried. They also have happy hour prices for beer and soju, which aren't too bad - better than paying regular price. They bring you some sweet sliced pickles w/ your meal.
-Beef Salad - Came with regular iceberg lettuce but the slices of beef had a teriyaki flavor. This is probably one of the more "healthier" alternatives on the Happy Hour Menu. Came with a balsamic dressing.
-Spicy Chicken and Dduk - There wasn't a whole lot of chicken in this, and boy was this spicy! So beware!
-Deep Fried Shrimp - These were very good hot - they looked kinda like taquitos with shrimp in them. This dish also came with a sweet dipping sauce.
-Mashed Sweet Potato - This was a mound of mashed sweet potatoes (not yams) - I can't recall the exact name. It came with some sour cream, crunchy bits, and bacon. This would be good as a small side with an entree but too much as a standalone.
As with all K-town bars, they allow smoking. They also have several screens playing sports games on them.

I thought all Korean cafes were supposed to have good food (at least good tong dak), but I was… Read more »
I lived in Seoul for almost 3 years and let me tell you-- this is the authentic Korean bar experience.
Order the seafood ddeokbokki.
I love Crazy Hook!
Yes, the pirate theme might be a little cheesy or silly, and you don't really come here to have super delicious food. You come here to chill with your friends and to have a good time. As soon as I sat down, I was in a good mood because it's such a fun environment!
Drinks: They have a wide variety of drinks compared to other Korean bars. They serve their cocktail soju in cute little patron bottles, and they have lots of cocktails like margaritas, mai tais, pina coladas, long island iced teas, you name it! My fave is the Junebug! If you like Midori, you will love this. They even have fun stuff like huge 2000cc and 5000cc beer dispensers!
Food: They give you these yummy chips in the beginning which are so addicting for some reason! They're really light and kinda sweet and taste super fattening but so good! I've also had their cheese corn (who doesn't love the delicious simplicity of cheese corn?) and their sweet potato fries which are really thin and stringy and covered in powdered sugar. Not the best I've had, but it'll do.
Downside: People smoke in here so you're kinda surrounded by smoke all the time. And their water is naaaasty. My friend described it as melted ice that was sitting for days in a really old ice chest. You'll gladly order a drink!
Valet is $2.
i like this place... or at least i think i do.... i dunno. i get pretty trashed here every time ive gone. just about all the anju are solid. you wont be disappointed with any of the food items... however, i just read on some other reviews here that they have budaejjigae. i will make sure to order that next time, bc thats my most favorite korean dish of all time.
actually, come to think of it, i love this place.. why else do i keep going back??
the 4 stars is for the happy hour only.
overall would be 3 stars, just because the music is kinda loud at times, so it's you gotta scream a bit to talk with other people. it's a bar, but just a tad lower would be nice to be able to talk comfortably.
anyways, happy hour is until 8pm on weekdays. they got many food items on special, the big plus is that most of their drinks are on special too. even the flavored sojus. happy hour is 50% off.
we order so many dishes, it was a big group, and none of them were disappointing. if i had to choose one dish that i didn't like too much was the kimchi pancakes. they made it kinda like a pizza, with melted cheese on top. just not what i expected, and you can't taste the kimchi too much.
most of the fried dishes were good. the rice cake with the chicken, kinda like duk pok kki, was very good. the fried squid and fried gizzard were good also. there was a duk and chicken skewers, which was a little dissapointing, since there were tiny pieces of chicken and big pieces of duk. (duk are the rice cakes, it's not mispelled for something else)
good place to hang out with friends, happy hour was great, i ll prob try to go during happy hours so you can try many different dishes.
This place is a fun joint to hit up when you and your friends want a little bit of crazy, but not too much crazy.... as in, getting drunk at some club and getting kicked out after slurring your explanation as to why you're acting like an ass to a pissed off bouncer.
They serve beer in those mega CC tubes.. the price was actually decent. If you're a strong runner, be sure to detox beofore you hit a trail or a treadmill b/c the carbon monoxide from all the smoke here will take a toll on you. But drunkenness, cigs, soju, and bulgogi DOES make a great mix.
As to Jonathan D's post, they didn't place the caucasians in the back like you mentioned. We had a great salad bowl sitting next to us. No pun intended.
This is a good place to wind down after leaving leaving one of those nearby clubs. If your'e looking for a gourmet meal... you will not find it here. It's just a place where you can kick back with some friends with beer food and drinks.
It's not very loud, and definitely not a place to mingle. Like I mentioned earlier, it's a place to kick back with friends post club. That's about it... I have never been there any other time. This is not the type of place that you'd specifically plan your night around.
Kimchi Fried rice with melted cheese topping?!?! Omg, it's so genius and absolutely delicious. Don't knock it until you've tried it. Their fried chicken wings are dang good too. Not to mention you can order huge towers of beer or soju ala yardhouse style. And you can talk like a pirate and blend right in.
I think I first heard of this place from the L.A. Times and I've been wanting to visit this Korean owned Pirate themed bar who serves Michelob beer as their house beer since. You get carded right when you walk in and when you order so you never forget that this is bar not a restaurant. I thought the place was gonna be tacky(in a good way), but it wasn't it was actually nice and quiet. We ordered the 2000 c beer special with the cheese katsu and a order of kimchee fried rice, the food was good. I cheese katsu was like a pizza katsu, panko crusted chicken with melted cheese and other pizza toppings, and it still came with katsu sauce. The amount of food and beer was perfect for the three of us with a few leftover pieces of chicken left. Cheap beer and good grub.

Aye, I rove Crazy hook!
What do you get when you mix K-town and Pirates of the Caribbean? A really bizarre ride. Seriously I couldn't believe my eyes when I stepped inside Crazy Hook. You enter and are greeted by 3 life size replicas of pirates. I was almost expecting to here "yo ho ho ho, a pirates life for me" playing in the background. But of course, we're in K-town so it's more thumping Korean dance club music.
I give credit to the consistency of the theme. All the booths are wooden to look like the inside of a ship. High up on ceilings hang banners of pirate faces, and one very closely resembling Johnny Depp. It's a little ridiculous but makes for interesting atmosphere.
So aside from the pirates, the highlight of this place appears to be the table top dispensers of beer. They fill it to the cubic centimeter of your choice (2000, 3000, 5000 cc) and with the beer (Budweiser or Michelob varieties) of your choice. It's entertaining and a great way to share beer.
We also tried some corn with cheese. Literally it is a plate of canned corn topped with some mild melted cheese. Strange sounding mix, but it works. Sweet and slightly savory. But really, at the end of the day, it is canned corn.
You do get some complimentary cinnamon sugar tortilla chips and pickles. Again strange combination but nothing in this place makes sense.
So heave ho, batten down the hatches, and prepare to get three sheets to the wind, matey!
Pirate-themed bar that will host a night of drinking for you and your friends? Sounds arrrgh-some! In the middle of K-town? Seems questionable. My friends thought there was going to be people swashbuckling with eye patches and plastic swords.
Unfortunately there was none of that. While the decor of the bar WAS pirate themed, you're not going to see your servers joining the ranks of Davey Jones anytime soon. They'll look like normal Korean servers. What you will find here however, is the option of getting a 5000cc "dispenser" of beer and a delicious soju translated to be called "Just like your first time..." Finishing that 5000cc dispenser with your friends is like finishing a really long relay race: pure awesomeness, pure adrenaline.
Also the food here is not bad. Sweet tortilla chips are novel and their ultimate nachos are delicious to share. Next time I go back, I'm trying the fried wings, which I hear is also great.
Service here is prompt because, like most efficient places in Ktown, they have ringers at every table, and servers that respond promptly when you ring it. On the other hand, street parking here is not. If you can find a space on the street in a reasonable time you're one lucky SOB. If not, you'll have to pay for valet which I am not particularly a fan of.
But if you're willing to overlook the parking situation, you and your friends are going to have a blast playing drinking games, trying to kiss the pirate mannequins, and hitting on the dime stacks that keep giving you the "bedroom eyes" (or was just at me?)
Came here once. Was not impressed. Felt like I was in a part of Disneyland... drinking soju... Just doesn't make for a good comfortable experience.
Service was pretty good. Food was average. The place was too gimmicky for me.
Unimpressive. If you're Caucasian, you will be seated in the back. Everyone smokes at their tables. You can order draft beer that's served in a giant tower dispenser, which is the only positive I can think of.
The hostesses have always been friendly, and the place is well-decorated to look like a pirate ship, but for your money you'll have a more pleasurable nautical experience at HMS Bounty down the street.
This place was a ton of fun and definitely different than your typical Korean bar. I didn't come here with the intention of eating any of their food so if you're looking for a food review, this isn't it. I came here to have a good time with my friends and to get a little intoxicated. What I enjoyed most about this place was I didn't feel like I was in a straight up Asian joint (well, that's a lie, 99% of people here were Asian)--BUT, they do an excellent job of carrying out the pirate theme all throughout their restaurant. Everywhere you look, you're surrounded by the goodness of pirates.
My friends and I ordered about 5000cc of beer and it came in this HUGE looking jug with a dispensable hose. Cool thing about this was that you can dispense your own beer as you please without having to bug the waiter/waitress. Along with that we also had several bottles of Soju. They also complemented our drinks with pickles and sweet tortilla chips, which are a great addition to the drinks by the way.
I would tell you about the prices had my friend not been a nice guy and paid for all of our drinks, but for now, this spot gets 4-stars for their great service, great ambiance, and just for being different from your typical Koreatown bar. I had a great time here so I can't complain, and I'll definitely come back to check out their other offerings. Check it out!
CONS
(1) I had my birthday celebration here in the private room and it was HOT!!! Like no air conditioning with 20 bodies in about 300 cubic feet! Plus when you drink, your body temperature rises so it almost makes you not want to drink anymore since you keep getting hotter! ALMOST.
(2) I came with many non-Korean friends and even though the menu was in english, when the food came out it was not what they were expecting. Example menu said tempura and my friend was expecting fried veggies and shrimp. What came to the table: a bowl of soup. No one claimed the soup because they were expecting fried goods!
PROS:
(1) Cheap beer! I believe for the 5000 cc's of beer it was $34.99 Selection: Michelob, Michelob light, and some dark ale I cant remember what the name of it was
(2) MOST EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! I have been to many a Korean establishment where you will ring that service button and they wont come. They were always there in 10 seconds!
Food: Cheap beer eats. But don't let the price fool you. Tasty, quality food here that pairs with either soju or beer. Don't order the fried food though, below average. Soggy would be theme.
Drink: Usual selection of soju and macrobrew beer. Get the funnel if ordering beer. Adds to the spirit of the party I say.
Service: Average. Nothing good or bad to say about it. Take orders and bring out food.
Ambiance: Definitely the strong point of the establishment. This bumped it up to 4 stars from 3. Good for groups of hard drinking, fun-loving people. Be as loud as you want cause people around are just as loud anyway. Waiters don't actively try to kick you out either, so stay, eat, drink, talk at your own pace. Has that college crowd vibe so don't invite someone for a romantic night over here.
food ok
interior ok
dont like their waiter's attitude
nothing makes me to come back there
Pirate Theme K-town Bar/Restaurant
Beer and Soju, korean food, st. parking
Oh, crazy hook, the adventures we've had.
It's mostly all been said, so here's my Caucasian's guide to the 'Hook!
IMPORTANT: You have to push the button on your table or else no one will come to take your order, and you'll get treated badly if you just flag a waiter.
Vegetarians beware - even if it sounds like a vegetarian dish, it probably isn't. Korean food often features combos of egg, pork, or minced meat as a garnish, so they don't list it in the description.
No dishes come with rice - but it's only $1 a cup.
Cheap beer bongs! It's not a literal beer funnel (although that would be a great idea for a bar.. hmm) - just a giant tower of beer for a goodish price. Pours a terrible glass, but it's fun.
Ssssshhh but you can smoke inside after like 9.30 or 10. You won't get any ash tray, but use one of the little side dishes you get, with a wet napkin in it.
Beef bulgogi (Barbecued beef) is tasty enough, and mildly spiced.
$2 valet -never had an issue.
Reasonable soju. For K-Town n00bs, soju is a rice liquor with the alcohol content of wine, so you can take tons of shots before you're sloppy. If you're new to it, beware unflavored soju. It tastes like fire, and will make you feel like the spot between your lungs is attempting to evolve dragon breath without your consent. Try the lemon, cucumber, and believe it or not, yogurt flavors. If you want the authentic experience, chant so-JU, so-JU, so-JU! before you all take shots of it.
BREAD FORTRESS! It's a castle of sponge cake, doused in maple syrup, with pine-nut-like crunches in it, with whipped cream and maple syrup. I forget what it's called on the menu, but you'll know it when you see it.
Ou-Sam special. You can get a bottle of discounted soju with a dish called ou-sam. This is grilled octopus and kimchi (pickled cabbage), and be warned: it is SO DARN SPICY you will be tingling. The salt and spice of ou-sam may lead you to drink too much just to quench your mouth, which to me, makes it all the more fun.
Korean bars often feature bottle service for the likes of Johnny Walker, Grey Goose and Patron, and this is the same. Pricey, but good for an occasion.
Overall, CH is actually a decent intro to Korean bars for any of us whiteys in K-Town! The proof is that the majority of the clientele is in fact Korean. Half the fun is watching and learning from them, so try out CH with an open mind!
Our mistake was showing up here at 5:05pm. You see they open at 5pm and therefore are not ready to service people. We were led to our table, which keeps the scurvy pirate theme going: sticky and had some kinda left-over film over it. Possibly some other pirate disease. Anyway, no one bothered to come talk to us for 10 minutes. I went outside to make a call. 5 minutes later my co-workers come out, "no one ever came to wait on us so we're out."
So yeah, they're rude like pirates, too.
Yarrr, me thinks next time ye be visiting the fate of the Spanish Armada.
This place deserves 4 stars alone for those tower beer dispensers. It could be a run down shack without any pirate- themed decor and I'd still give it 4 stars. We came after eating the All-you-can-eat at Tahoe BBQ, so we didn't get a chance to try anything of the food on the menu. Sad. But, the sugar tortilla chips were delicious. Our table ordered the beer towers and a couple bottles of soju. We got some lip from the waiter when we contested a charge on our bill for an extra bottle of soju we never received. I don't think they understood what the problem was until one the guys in our group explained it to them in Korean. I guess if you don't have a Korean with you, tough luck. But, that's the general rule of thumb when in K-town.
You can walk to the crazy hook from yang san bak... it's only like 6 blocks away. This place is cool, the beer pipe is crazy fun 3000cc's is enough for 3 people, the soju is kinda pricey but it's good fun. The service is good, most of the servers speak decent english so it's not at all a bad experience.
I did leave there a little annoyed after hearing the "happy burtsday" song 100000 times!!! Seriously every 15 minutes the music was replaced by a very annoying "happy burtsday" song.....
Crazy hook is Crazy fun! At least that's what I remember from my soju and beer induced haze.
This place is not like any korean bar i've ever been to. first, its decked out top to bottom in pirates paraphernalia. We're talking fully dressed pirate mannnequins, fish nets, a boat... the works. Its actually a little overwhelming, but whatever.
Secondly, and more importantly, are their big beer and soju jugs. You can order it in the amount you want and then just refill your glass from there. Genius!
The food is your typical korean fare. I was sad they didn't have cheesy corn, but their chicken wings made up for it because they were lip-smackin' good.
Had a great time here on a busy Friday night with some old friends. Lots to eat and drink paired with great conversation and laughs is never a bad thing. Only thing that was a bit of a buzzkill is when of the girls asked for service (fruit plate) which is suppose to be free... they tried to charge us for it and then decided to take it off our bill later. Whatever, it was still a good night!
OK for one thing you have to go just for the CC's of beer and Soju Lemonade and push button service's( you have a button at your table and it will call your server to you) the food is OK but then again I never go here to eat we order a few appetizers like the nachos and get the tortilla chips with Cinnamon with Pickles mmm..... But its an all around fun place to be. Ask to be seated int he corner room away from everyone and you practically have your own private room all to your group. they have mixed drinks and other beers too try it even if its only for the 5000 cc's of beer you will drink with your friends :)
I was heartbroken when Green Belt closed down. I really was... I didnt want to give Crazy Hook a chance, but Im glad I did. They have a pirate ship theme going on and its pretty cool..
Their food is okay. I dont think there is anything there that is fantastic, but its not horrible either. But who cares? Its a soojib. You go here to drink!
They have these tall towers of beer and soju! Its so cool. They dont have a great beer selection, but its quantity over quality here.
Its a great place to kick back after a long day of work and just have fun. Its not some fancy shmancy lounge, so you dont even have to dress up! Unless you can find street parking somewhere (kinda tough), it is valet only.
This place is aaarrrrrr-some! The moment my friends told me we're going to Crazy Hook, I immediately thought of the song "yo, ho, ho, ho, a pirate's life for me!" and I was hoping for some pirate costumes on our waiters, talking parrots, and eye patches, too. Instead, I found out we were going to k-town instead, so I didn't expect much except for drunk and loud people w/ smoky atmosphere and some music from Wonder Girls.
My friends love this place because it's one of many Korean bars where you can smoke, drink, play games and eat some anju (korean bar snacks). The beers come in this tall plastic casing and it's super cool, because you have your own beer tap on your table. We ordered around 10 bottles of soju, 1 bottle of yogurt soju and two of those beer taps along with nachos, sweet potato fries, and ssang-gyup ssal w/ kimchi in a sizzling plate. All were quite tasty.
Service is great. In a touch of a button, your pirate, I mean, server will be happy to assist you.
I'm looking forward on returning again with my friends.
Haven't been to a Korean bar for a while and came here with another couple and had a blast :) The Pirate theme was interesting and fun!
Loved the BIG plastic tube of beer.
We had the Spicy Octopus with Noodles and Korean Kimchee Pancake with Cheese and both were excellent.
The sweet chips and Pickles was different and good from the usual peanuts or what not.
We will definitely come back here :)
When my friend initially told me about this place, i thought to myself, "I wonder what type of weird fetish shenanigans is Kiddy taking me to again?". But this place is a legitimate sit-down environment with nothing but bar like foods and drink.
Mostly everything is fried, which is great for late night partying. Nothing is particularly great, but who the hell cares, you're eating fried sh!t. The beer comes in large quantities. It is a great place to hang out late at night. O, it's also pirate themed and owned by koreans. Makes no sense...love it!
one of my girl friends mentions a pirate themed bar and the rest of us were [suprisingly] intruiged and we had to check it out!
i dont think there is much street parking, but the valet is about 5 bucks or something. right when you walk in, you're greeted with 3 life size pirates! arrgghhh they have all this random decor, like pirates of the carribean posters but say crazy hook on it instead and random fake pirates hanging from the ceiling, which was quite distracting because i kept thinking there was really someone there. they have loud korean music playing that was actually pretty catchy where you wish you understood what they were saying so you could sing along too.
they greeted us in korean and when we gave them blank looks, they asked the same thing in korean again. hahah after they figured we werent korean (i get it a lot) they asked us for our IDs and then they really knew we werent korean. they sat us in the back and didnt come by for a long long time. my one friend that is korean was late and i felt like maybe if she were to get their attention, they'd give us attention =P we even buzzed the little buzzer on the table several times and no one came by =P bah.
most of our party ordered food but it was hectic and disorganized on the ordering. only half of our party (4 out of 7) got to order and then the other half had to get the waiters attention as he rushed by like 10 min later to put in the rest of our order.
we ordered a 5000cc beer tower for $35. i was excited about the beer tower because ive always wanted one. 5000cc is roughly 10 pints btw. you only get to chose from budwiser and michelob prroducts. the beer tower comes with these real frosty mugs that made the beer oh so delicious. we also got some random pickles and tortilla chips that had some brown sugar on them.
the bf ordered the bulgogi. it came on a hot plate with tons of rice. the bulgogi was okay. it was a lot more tender than i had expected but a little lacking in flavor.
one friend ordered the oriental salad or something and it was like a bowl of chopped napa swimming in dressing. did you want some napa with that dressing? the dressing tasted pretty good though.
another friend ordered the vegetable pancake or something. it was kind of like a japanese okonomiyaki but with no cabbage. pretty good. and HUGE. like bigger than a steering wheel.
another friend shared the nachos. it was also huge. i didnt get to try it but it looked decent.
they have flat screens every where with sports playing. it took a while for us to get our check. they give you pens with plastic spoons taped to them with smiley faces drawn on them. we found that entertaining, but maybe that was the beer tower talking.
we left, but not before taking pictures groaping the pirate statues. those guys got the most action of the night!
we went NO-RE-BAN-ing (karaoke-ing) in the next building (palm tree la- on the 4th floor of the white building) and came out at about 2AM, to find that crazy hook was closed and our cars were parked in the front with no valet attendant in sight! but where the hell do we get our keys?!?!?! dang i swear i broke out in a cold sweat at that moment, trying to think in my head who i would call to pick us up. all the people who i would call, were already with me! hahah luckily crazy hook had just closed so we banged on their glass door until someone came to open up and they had our keys behind the counter.
overall, okay. i'd go for the cheap beer towers and for preparty before karaoke-ing. just be careful about getting your car out of valet before crazy hook closes!
First, I know what a cc is. I know its metric, and I know it stands for cubic centimeter. However, after a long evening of drinking...I'm not about to pull out my phone to use the calculator to do some converting.
In any case, the place is great to hang out with friends and drink. The beer is cheap, the food is terrible, everything you expect from a korean pirate bar. Theres also the added bonus of occassionally seeing some guys who've had a little too much to drink act tough in front of their girls and pick fights.
Good times.
Cute pirate theme place. The well decorated inside makes you feel like you're on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. They have the large table beer tube, also super cute, I haven't seen this since my trip to Taiwan. Variety of food, beware of the spicy-ness. Cute place to hang out with your friends in a table sitting and enjoy greasy food.
Beware of the drunken people on the street! My friends and I came across a randomly drunken guy trying to start a fight for no reason at all. Crazy hooks people really need a security guard, because instead of trying to break it up, they just ignored the problem and locked their doors. Very irresponsible of the bar to let some random guy harass my friends. The guy ended up running up to my car and banged on it and chasing my friends down the street. Scary!!!
No, the food isn't that great. Yes, people smoke in here. Yes, the beer selection is quite quite limited.
But they serve it in beer bongs! 5000cc beer bongs!
And it's almost campy-reincarnated! With life size pirate mannequins hanging from a rope suspended from the ceiling ...
I love the cheesy, the campy, the kitschy. So there.
The first time I stepped foot into Crazy Hook, I felt like a void had been filled that I didn't know was missing.
White sails draped from the ceiling, wooden everything and tall bongs of beer... this place is like the Peter-Pan-Captain-Hook dreamland for 21+ year olds. Instead of handfuls of colorful Neverland pies and cookware noisemakers (though I'm sure that could be arranged), there's tall bongs of beer, assortment of fried goods and a projector showing the latest sports news.
A great spot for drinks after dinner, I only tried a few things from the menu which I thought were decent but not spectacular. I'll definitely be returning here the next time I get a craving for copious amounts of beer and childlike fun... RUFIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
This place is pretty decent as far as korean bars go. They have valet parking at only $2! It was very convenient and fast. Crazy Hook is huge so you get seated promptly and I liked the large interior with the high ceilings. Service was pretty solid. We ordered the 8000 CC beer pipe thing and it was huge!
Do not order the octopus dish (nak-ji-bok-eum). There was like maybe one leg of octopus in there cut up into 4 pieces. Everything else was noodles, cabbage and onions for $12.99. Totally NOT worth it. The chicken wings were decent though.
Great ambiance. Mixed crowd - they put the non-koreans in the front of the restaurant. They even have a halloweenish Captain Hook in the front. They play the Turbo happy birthday song like they do in the korean clubs.
Every time I come to Crazy Hook, I always have a great time. The food..ehh..not so good. but the soju and the crazy beer bongs are soooo worth it. The decor can definitely throw you off..or just make you feel like you're in Neverland with Peter Pan. Prices are good for the amount of alcohol you get...and I love the "at the touch of a button" call service. reminds me of home sweet home: Asia.
Great place to go just to kick back, drink, and hang with some Jack Sparrow look-alikes.
