I really like the homely feel of this little restaurant.
Seems a tad bit disorganized by the way they run things here, but the food more than makes up for it. I ordered a kickass roast beef sandwich with horseradish ($7.50). So fresh and so lean lean. Lol.
For dessert, I got some homemade ice cream in a chocolate chip cookie ice cream cone ($4 altogether). Creamy and refreshing. Juan was eyeing it with jealousy. Puhahaha!
As a to go souvenir, I got specially made bread - pistachio bread (mmmm moist and interesting flavor with the sea salt and slight sweetness of the bread complementing the pistachio flavor) and another that was flavored with coconut ($1.25 altogether).
They have outdoor seating for enjoying that Florida breeze from the sea.
Cravings will definitely be one of my frequent stops in Vero.
Great ice cream and snick snacks! The perfect ending (or middle or start) to a day of shopping on the beach. It's very tight quarters however so I couldn't imagine eating a meal here, but a quick snack on the patio/sidewalk is great! And the smoothies are made with a mix instead of fresh (or at least the last, and only time I ordered one)
So the last reviewer seemed upset. Eep!
I've only been a few times but loved it. Went for breakfast one time and had excellent service and a wonderful sandwich and coffee. One time I stopped in for the Florida-made ice cream and loved it. They have you pay by weight, a little odd, but it was still cheaper than BR. They have free wi-fi so you can sit indoors or out (enjoy the ocean breeze even though you can't quite see it) surfing the net and munching. The first time I went I was full of questions about the area and was up to causing a ruckus. The man behind the counter was very kind, answered all my questions, and didn't scoff at me as I was intentionally making a fool of myself. I love a guy who will laugh along.
Oh and the baked goods look amazing.
My family owns a condo about a 20 minute beach walk from Cravings, and me and my father do daily morning walks to cravings whenever we're in town. It's so refreshing to walk down the beach and up across that nice, green park, just to sit down and enjoy some fresh baked treats! I usually get the ham and cheese croissant, which is just to die for. That, along with a coffee or an Indian River orange juice in the little plastic bottles, and it's a perfect breakfast. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here, from the pastries to the funny novelty candies to the ice cream. The patio is a great place to enjoy the food, listen to the waves, and lap up the beautiful Florida warmth. I love Cravings!
I stopped here at a local shopkeeper's suggestion for coffee and ice cream with my family in the late afternoon- very good and pleasant to sit outside! a great selection of yummy things including brownies, cookies, muffins, drinks and ice cream- would def visit again if I was in the area :) but I will say the seating was a little rough around the edges, prob because it's such a popular place...
ice cream, coffee and other delights. totally deadly. but the owner has a major 'tude and kicked out someone who spent a lot of money in there because apparently, the customer is never right.
