I like Crate & Barrel. I like their overall design. I think the quality and price match up. And, I like this particular store...why? It's big, so you get to see, feel, and test out a lot of stuff.

Also, the sales people are nice here. They're helpful but not in your way (are you listening, The Door Store?).

Plus, and you'd think that every place would be like this, they're on top of things. If you're looking for something, they won't just point you in the right direction, the sales people will go get it for you. They'll see how many items they have in stock. They'll go get however many you need.

It's a simple thing, but a little service goes a long way. And come to think of it, it's the service that gives this store the five stars.

New York, Chicago or Boston, regardless of location, CB is always busy, hectic and crazed with shoppers trying to grab their favorite home goods.  I love the simple designs and affordability of CB items.  Their seasonal items are festive without being overdone.  I wish I could get all the different place settings, but I have nowhere to store them!

Flatware here is just ehhh, ok.  It doesn't have the same feel as Pottery Barn or Williams Sonoma.

I wouldn't buy appliances here as they are overpriced... but they do a great job of merchandising their Cuisinart mixers!   Better to get them at a Bed, Bath and Beyond.

I'm sure this store is insane during the holidays.  Love CB, but this store doesn't compare to the Chicago flagship.  It seems a bit cramped.

My favorite store! Every time I walk past, it is a must for me to go in even if it's just to see and touch the pretty household wares ... heh heh. The store is so pretty and neat in there plus everyone is so friendly and helpful, I want to buy everything! :o)

Now this C&B is beautiful and grand. Great layout and it just makes you feel like you've stepped into a catalog. This is probably one of my favorite C&B's.

Service 2, Selection 3.5, Quality 4.

Ok, I was spoiled, I mean seriously spoiled by their Chicago store.  If you go to the one on N. Michigan Ave, and then walk into another CB, you WILL be disappointed.

Sadly at this store, it wasn't just the selection of merchandise that they lacked compared to the one in Chi-town, but they had this CB attitude that oozed out of their pores which made them seem like, dare I say it, PMs!!!  I tried to find someone to help me, and after about 10 minutes of searching, I finally find someone.  This person was wonderfully helpful, even let me come behind the counter to scour their website to find what I was looking for.  She directed me downstairs and said they could help me further... umm, ok, but you could see if you have it in inventory there right?  So, I mosey on downstairs where I find someone within now 3 minutes, but this person was annoyed that I asked for their help.  They rushed me over, gave me short answers "no, we don't carry", "uh, yeah we have it in the warehouse, but we are going to need to charge you delivery". "oh, I think the delivery charge would be between $40 and $60"... WTF, 1) duh, i know you will need to deliver it (even if in stock I ain't carrying that 20 blocks) 2) you think it cost that much, can't you oh, do your job and look it up.

I despise places that just because they have a name, they assume they can treat their customers like crap.  Yet, I don't want to give them 2 stars because that's being too harsh and, that 1 lady before was nice.

I'd say to come here to look, but, buy from the web - they're friendlier.

Sean Approved:  Ok to look, but don't touch :P

I just have to give my ol' friend 5 stars. Not only do I feel like I am heading home every time I pass those delicious revolving doors, but I rarely ever leave without buying something. Maybe it's because I want everything in it, maybe it's because of the expansive layout with couches, recliners, king sized beds and cozy accents which none of would fit in my studio. Maybe it's the martini glasses or cook books or mini-prep Cuisinart for $29 bucks. Interior decorator....... here I come!

Yeah, this place has it. As far as glassware and table service goes, this place is pretty nice and ain't all that expensive. It's not Weber's, but it is a good step up and is similar as far as being quality/price ratioed. I have gotten practically all of my glassware and a few bowls from here, it's really good in that regard. The pieces are all delicate and large, and they mostly suit my needs just fine.

They've taken over the building where my dad used to work, but I don't hold that against them. Times change in NYC and I guess people need glassware, cookware and furniture more than they need factors, huh? Sad, yet true.

Anyhow there is great glassware here at not a wallet busting price. This is so much better than budget places like Fishes Eddy. You can come here, get some elegant, delicate glasses and if one breaks a few months later, you always have a place to come and get a replacement.

C&B is a terrific place to come to if you want to visit somewhere for decorating ideas or just for the utilitarian supplying of your apartment when you might ordinarily be inclined to check out a place like ABC downtown.  Even still, C&B ain't necessarily slouchville compared, though.

You'll end up spending a little more $$$ than the bargain basements, but will still get a decent value.
