Akemi seems to hit their inventory right in the head.

It somewhat looks seasonal with a section of what's in the latest fad.

Though I don't hold anything against the store, I find their selection lacking and somewhat 5-10% higher than Michael's.

It's good to drop by once in a while and see what can I pre-occupy myself with when I'm bored.

I guess you could say this is my neighborhood craft store.

I've gotten scrapbook supplies, yarn, sewing notions, embroidery floss, vases, candles... even plants and a Betta fish here.

Over the years, their scrapbooking area has gotten smaller and smaller as the fad fades and changes to different paper crafts - looks like the rubber stamp area is growing, so I guess that is coming back into popularity. There are still lots and lots of options as far as paper, stickers, rub-ons, pens, etc.

Since so many different crafts share a limited amount of space, things can be hit-or-miss. Also, there are a lot more "generic" types of stuff - you won't find that one-of-a-kind embellishment here! But, at the same time, it is not as impersonal as Michael's.

Also, if you can get there during their sidewalk or clearance sales, you'll find a lot of good deals - I got a string of flamingo/palm tree lights for just $6 or $7.

All-in-all it is a good store, but I do prefer shopping at smaller stores like Whimzee's and the Knitting Bee for more special items and personalized customer service.

I love Craft Warehouse!  I'm from California and the craft stores near where I live pale in comparison. The selection of quilting fabric is outstanding, but I think quilting must be more popular here than back home.  There are all kinds of other crafts represented with how-to's and everything to make it enticing.  My sister and I visited here and bought so much stuff, especially Christmas type stuff, it was a good thing we drove up from CA because we couldn't have gotten it all home otherwise!  We also happened to be there when they were having a sidewalk sale and wow was everything marked down!!  Give it a try, I guarantee you are going to find something you love!
