Anybody who doesn't like Cracker Barrell needs to be warped upside the temple. The food is always freaking good. There is a reason people are always lined up around the building. Its like crack in food form. Portions are sometimes small (I usually get a veggie plate) but the food is always the bombdiggity. I could be blindfolded and point at something on the menu and I know I would be happy with whatever it turned out to be. My standard favorites are the green beans, hash brown casserole, mashed potatoes and brown gravy and dumplings. If I was a dude, I would have just gotten wood typing that.

I've been going to Cracker Barrel for years. It's a wonderful place for breakfast, and decent for dinners. The best thing about Cracker Barrel is that they're extremely consistent, not matter where you visit, even down to the floor layout. They're all almost identical to one another....
EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE. This floor layout is the exact opposite of every other Cracker Barrel I've ever been to. It was so strange. We walked in and got really turned around.
That being said, the food was good. The service was so-so, but they were really busy the day we went, so it's understandable.
It's still the best place around the immediate area for an anytime anyday breakfast. -

I normally don't frequent Cracker Barrel, but the family wanted to go here for brunch on the weekend I was visiting Memphis.
Food is always good, and our server was very attentive, and a little bit nutty, made for an overall great meal. I always enjoy the chicken & dumplings, and their fried okra, and especially the cornbread rolls slathered in butter...
The only thing that I could say that needs improvement at this location are the restrooms. The few times I've been to this location through the years, they always seem unkempt... -

This store would easily get five stars from me if it didn't get so crowded sometimes.
The pot roast is really very good, and if you're not the type to get a home-cooked meal in very often, it's a close second. With carrots and mashed-potatoes or green beans, it's a little bit of heaven. If you're a biscuit person, you should give them a whirl with butter and honey.
I love playing the triangle golf pin game at the table while I wait for my food. We have tournaments, and it's fun to look forward to.
I also wind up spending at least five bucks on old-timey candy, like cinnamon drops or the like in the attached store. -

The cashier girl said to me, "Too bad there's no Cracker Barrel in California." And she was right. Cracker Barrel is awesome!!
It's an 'Old Country Store' because there's a huge store as you enter the restaurant. (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) Nik-naks and random finds. This place is very entertaining.
Homecooking done the Southern way. Mmmm. Basket of corn muffins and biscuits. (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) The corn muffins were more grainy and less sweet as ones we're used to. Biscuits were good, but not as good as Corky's.
Had the Chicken and Dumplin' Platter with sides of corn, macaroni and cheese and hashbrown casserole.(http://www.yelp.com/bi...) Never had chicken and dumpling before, but I'm now a fan! Sooo tender and flavorful. The mac and cheese had the right amount of cheese and milk. And the hashbrown casserole had a great layer of crunchiness on top. Mmmmm.
My friend had the Sampler Platter. (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) Ham, meatloaf, and dumplings with sides of corn, mashed potato and macaroni and cheese. The meatloaf was very good. Very ketchupy and moist. MmmmMmmm.Listed in: MMMMemphis!

I didn't eat here, I just needed to get some Goo Goo Clusters candy. I asked some of the ladies where to find them and was directed right to them on the shelf. Everyone in the store was so nice to me.

We were on a cross-country drive and we needed to go somewhere other than a McD's for breakfast. It was cold and dark and we needed warmth. That's what we got. We were welcomed into the cute country store, stocked with all sorts of little knick-knacks. We were walked past a huge fireplace with a nice, crackling fire and seated. Our waitress was very nice and rushed to get us some coffee. The food wasn't anything to rave about. Just a standard breakfast of some eggs and bacon. Their apple butter was good though. I think it was the warm service and environment that gave us the cozy feeling. If we ever land in Memphis again, we'd probably stop by.

I loved this place,
When you walk into the Restaurant, you first had to walk through this old style country store, with lots of nick knacks, and things you could take home. Lots of garden items, and things for the home, just like a general store from back in the day.
Then you get taken to your table, and you await a great breakfast.
We were there for breakfast.
I had the country boy breakfast, it came with grits, fried apples, country ham, eggs and hash brown casserole, it was soooo good.
Cracker Barrel is definitely not somewhere you go if you are trying to eat lite! -

This place was packed when we arrived for lunch...prepare to wait!
Don't be disappointed though...while you wait, you get to browse through their store which has awesome goodies throughout (toys, candies, books, clothes, house items, etc.).
I had the chicken & dumplins which was excellent. The sweet tea was also GREAT. Everyone enjoyed their food...great Southern cookin! -

i am done with cracker barrel.
thanks to a certain waiter whose name begins with an M, i will never eat at any cracker barrel stores ever again. in life.
this was a horrible second experience, although i am not quite sure if it was worse than the first. Mar-- i mean, the waiter was inattentive and forgetful. he never brought us any biscuits. or water. and when we ordered our drinks, he didn't bring us any straws. we had to remind him twice. a person in our party ordered an entree and didn't receive any cornbread. again, we had to remind the waiter again and again.
i ordered a cold mug sundae and didn't see the ingredients on the menu, so i asked Marcus-- ooops... i mean, the waiter... what was included in the sundae. he told me, "basically what was on the menu"... well, smartypants, the ingredients aren't on there which is why i asked you!
btw, the sundae wasn't anything to write home about.
so in conclusion: boo on you, cracker barrel. i have yet to see what everybody raves about. -

Cracker Barrel is crack for the homegrown southerners. I'm not kidding. Amazing. Order everything! Again, not kidding. You may very well gain 5 pounds in one visit but it's so worth it.

Crack Barrel is OK. I'm not use to southern style food. Fried just bout everything you can think of like Fried Mac N Cheese, Fried Okra. Introduction to sweet tea, eww wee..sugar Rushhhhhhh! I must say I did like the homey feeling I got and the friendly service. They also have these games you can play while waiting for your food and that was entertaining. I really liked the shop, cool stuff. Might try it again and give it another chance. We don't have Barrels of Crack back in L.A.( see picture)

I eat at Cracker Barrel quite a bit and have always had excellent service and great food. On this visit, something wasn't right about my meal (I can't remember what now) and when asked if everything was okay, I mentioned it. The manager came over and insisted on comping my meal. I felt kind of bad about it and objected but the manager insisted. My point is simply that Cracker Barrel seems to go out of their way to make sure their customers are satisfied and I supposed that formula has a large part in their success.
