Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I grew up eating frequently at Cracker Barrel, and while I typically try to avoid chains, Cracker Barrel is still my favorite go to for classic country food! I didn't do a traditional Thanksgiving this year, and to get a taste of some of my favorite sides, my husband and I ordered Cracker Barrel. I always do the vegetable plate, and this time I REALLY enjoyed my sweet potato, carrots, apples, and greens. So delicious, event as takeout.

Food was still hot, so tasty and Cracker Barrel has mastered takeout containers that keep food divided.

It's been years since I've been to a Cracker Barrel and it was our choice for breakfast this morning.

Funny story, all 6 of us aren't from Louisville, KY and we hopped into our rental and put in the address for the restaurant only to learn that it's right across the street from- in front of us!

So, yes we drove across the street and parked lol

Walking into the store front of the restaurant, one can't help but feel like you've walked into a festive Christmas themed place. Christmas trees and festive holiday fare is available for purchase amongst its holiday decor.

At the same time, the aroma of food is wafting through the entire place and we were hungry.

Jenna was our server and was really pleasant. We ordered our drinks and not too long did it arrive.

Food was the same, once ordered it came out to us in a timely fashion.

Biscuit basket was a fave.

I chose to build my own breakfast and it was good.

Scrambled eggs, country ham steak. Bacon with extra bacon, and sausage with gravy.

Everything was good except the h steak was over cooked, dry and too salty.

Hakuna matata, I enjoyed everything else.

We all left satisfied and we were prepared for our day.

We went to the Blankenbaker location on 3/23/24. The entrees that we ordered were the Old Timers Breakfast and the Breakfast Egg & Biscuit. We both had fruit cups.
Jeff was our server and came to our table in a good time frame. He brought us our drinks and he took our order. He did a great job but seemed to be distracted. I think maybe he had three tables but every spare minute between bring Ingram

I really appreciate how Cracker Barrel supports the RVers by tolerating overnight parking in their lots. I arrived here well after they closed and departed well before they opened, so I had no opportunity to eat at this particular outlet on this visit. Sorry!

For the RVers, I would not recommend this lot for parking. It is directly under the end of the runway so that first flight landing at 5:00 am is going to wake you up. As well, it's next to a curve of the Interstate so the trucks using their engines to downshift and slow will also wake you up. Head to another CB if you're staying overnight.

Roast beef was dry and tough. Incorrect order of salad, asked if we wanted bread (said yes), never got bread, finally got napkins when done eating despite asking four times. Second star is because we were seated without a wait.

I met a friend for lunch, we like Cracker Barrel because it is consistent. My friend had the fried catfish dinner and was pleased. I had the roast beef, which was tuff! My fried okra was over fried to the point of being hard. The waiter was nice which made up for the food. Maybe an off day.

I placed a pickup order at this restaurant and also did a retail purchase. I wanted to redeem a reward. The cashier did not know how to redeem it and would not ask for help she would not let me redeem my reward and was very rude about it. She could have nicely said she could not redeem it and I would have understand. However she was loud and rude over the situation and would not even try to help. I would not suggest this restaurant.

4 stars for allowing us to have dinner 4 minutes before closing after the Kentucky Derby traffic jam. They were slammed right at closing with people stuck in traffic after the Derby. We had a loooong wait on food but we were hungry and with traffic at a stand still we had no choice- they did! They took us in. Apologized for slow service as they were not staffed to handle the crowd at 10:00. We waited. Thankfully Got our food and went on our way with traffic all clear. I had no a fail strawberry pancake and date had farmers breakfast.
Servers were tired, and pushed. One helped cooks in the kitchen but they all did a great job making a restaurant full of people grateful. Kudos to the staff.

I stop at Cracker Barrels all the time and this one was like most others. I was seated right way but I was put in a section without anyone else and after 10 min's of waiting I had to track down a server. Once she came to my table, she was very pleasant and efficient.

My food came out quickly, I ordered Chicken and Dumplings and the dumplings were very thick compared to normal, almost twice as thick as they should have been. It was like eating a mouthful of dough. The chicken was tender but not very flavorful. I had to add both salt and pepper. I also ordered corn and mac n cheese and both of those were good.

I like going to Cracker Barrel, I just feel they didn't put in a good effort on the Dumplings that day.

Came here to eat after an event at the Exposition Center and was seated in Bethany's section. She was amazing and gave us the best service. She was such a gem we came back to see her again. Food was quality as well. Make sure to ask for Bethany while dining at this property I promise you that you're in amazing hands!
