I love Cracker Barrel. This one happens to be about an hours drive from my home. Usually a great experience with a friendly waitress and lots of vintage things to look at on display hanging on the walls.
I also love browsing the shopp that has all those old fashioned and country items, from Yankee Candle, Old style candies, toys, and clothes.
Be prepared, this is not fast food, so you'll be there a good hour, but the taste and experience is worth it, very relaxed atmosphere.
The real reason I love this place is the Grilled Chicken BLT sandwich. Delicous and juicy, with thick applewood smoked bacon. And of course, thier hash brown casserole is a treat as well... Comfort food in a comfy country atmosphere. -

We were hankering for something special for breakfast today! So we headed out hunting for a place to chow down. Stopped at one place that Yelp lead me to and found out that they were closed on Sundays. On our hunt for breakfast we drove past the Cracker Barrel..and decided what the heck!!
Glad we stopped. Today I had the most delicious French toast I have ever had. I ordered their seasonal special: Apple Streusel French Toast, it came with 3 pieces of FT, eggs to order, and 3 thick crispy chewy strips of Bacon...Yum!!!
Oh my the Applie Streusel FT was so delich!! Just the right amount of sweetness and savory. Topped with a thick cinnmon apple syrup, it was so thick that the French toast did not get soggy. See my picture...doesn't that look tempting...mm mm!!!
I enjoyed a bottomless cup of hot Java.
Our waitress was on the ball. She never let my coffee cup get empty and repeatedly asked my wife if she wanted more hot water and tea bags.
I Cracker Barel were to keep this seasonal dish on the menu it would make me a very happy camper!!! -

A good lunch stop for that really hungry day. It will probably take your entire lunch hour, but you'll be so full that you won't care and just want to sleep afterwards. Also perfect for those days when you just want to eat some breakfast food no matter what time of day it is. Just be hungry when you get there!

Always one of my favorite I-95 meal spots, I never fail to stop at a Cracker Barrel when I take a road trip. But hey, imagine my glee when I saw that there was one next to my hotel when I was out of town on business!
This time I broke ranks from my normal Cracker Barrel Sampler and went for the Chicken Fried Steak with Turnip Greens, Hash Brown Casserole, Green Beans, and a house salad. Honestly, it didn't disappoint - however this time the only disappointment was the lack of space in my stomach to accommodate the trimmings. I ended up tapping out and taking half of it home - but hey, that was just one more occasion to enjoy the food.
Since it's my last night on business, I think it's time to head over there once this NCAA game is over... -

I came here this past friday and the service was great. Our waitress was helpful and worked with us to get us the most for our money. Awesome!

I love their veggies, mostly because they're heavily laden with pork fat. That's right, if you're a vegetarian, you can't eat anything here, except maybe the biscuits.
I don't even try to eat anything else here, mostly because when a dish starts with the words "country fried," my arteries start to ache. They have a breakfast dish my little bro has renamed "Uncle Hershel's Heart Stopper." Enough said.
They also have entirely too much useless crap in the so-called Country Store. Sure, it's nice to have a distraction while you're waiting for your table at the restaurant your mom dragged you to, yet again. But does anyone really need a small stuffed dog dressed in drag as a witch??
Mostly, I dislike having to eat here because of their history of intolerance of employees who aren't white, male, and heterosexual. Firing people who are gay is so uncool. Evolve already! -

Stopped to this one on our way to DC. I usually go to the ones in CT so it was nice to hit a southern Cracker Barrel. We had the breakfast at 1pm and the prices were good for what everyone ordered. Actually our only complaint was that we were pressed for time and it took over a half hour for the food to come out.

My family loves to eat here because the food is good and not expensive. Depending on the time of day you come the wait can be pretty long to get in. Once we are seated though it never takes too long for us to get our food.

What can you say about Cracker Barrel? At least they are consistent. My experience here was better as an eat-in customer rather than carry-out. The food isn't great, but above "not bad." I'd probably rate them at slightly above an Applebee's or TGI Friday's.

I visited this restaurant several times while I was in Maryland. The service was great and the food was good Southern comfort cooking. I tried the fried okra once and couldn't touch it again. Maybe I'm spoiled on fresh okra, but this okra was too lightly breaded and not fried enough to really crisp the coating. Sometimes the turnip greens aren't very good and sometimes they are great, so it's a real hit and miss side dish. The meatloaf was actually really bad, so order the meatloaf with caution. The catfish however was excellent both fried and cajun seasoned. I missed the Friday fish night, so I didn't get to try the cod, but the catfish was so good I'm sure the cod was as well.

Stopped here during a roadtrip when we didn't feel like going to a fast-food place. I hadn't been to a Cracker Barrel in years and was pleasantly surprised at how low the prices were. 2 Entrees, 1 dessert plus tip and tax was only $21. I had the grilled catfish which was pretty decent and had a good bit of spiciness to it. On the other hand, my wife's Chicken and Dumplins' (their signature dish) was really just chicken with a whole bunch of gravy. Maybe my northern, Yankee upbringing prevents me from truly understanding what dumplins' are. The store that they have upfront also has some nice things to look at if you have to wait for a table.
