Tourist trap?  Check.

Long waits?  Check.

Drunken LSU fans?  Check.

Even though you gotta go through that whole ordeal, this place is still pretty good.  The food is good and doesn't require you to act proper.  Fork and knife are optional.

Order one of their Seafood Feasts for 2 and be prepared to lay it all out on the table.  We went with the Westport Pot which included about 1/2 a Dungeness crab, 1/2 a snow crab, a lb of clams and mussels, shrimp, andouille sausage, corn, and red potatoes.  I was expecting things to be overcooked, but they managed not to.  I'm not usually a fan of snow crab, usually because it's the frozen stuff that I always see.  But this was probably the 1st time that I ever thought the snow crab was sweet and tasty.  Seasoning is just something like Old Bay sprinkled on after the fact, but it did the job.  Surprisingly, we finished it all, along with the salad appetizer.

Worth the visit, if you like a lot of seafood.

Probably not the best place for a sleepy infant to snooze.

This was one of the worst places to have a gathering of about 12 people.  Although they could accommodate us, we waited almost an hour to get our tables.  Several friends were from out of town and came by car, so parking was a pain.  We parked all the way in the International District because we didn't want to pay for parking.  We were hoping that our walk would help us work up an appetite and also help us after we ate.

This stretch of Seattle, the waterfront, reminds me a bit of Waikiki or the Las Vegas Strip - crawling with tourist after tourist.  That is what the Crab Pot reminded me of.  Just a huge tourist trap.

The seating arrangement was tight and one could not help but bump into servers, tables, or other diners.  While there was a herd of people working, service was pretty poor.  Our glasses went unfilled and requests went unanswered or ignored / forgotten.

I was very disappointed when I walked up the stairs to the bathroom.  I found that the entire upstairs was empty even though there was a ton of people waiting to get in.  On top of that, I opened the door to the ladies' room to find three workers standing around gossiping and putting on makeup.  I could care less if they were on break, it just looked bad.  Women who treat the bathroom like a beauty parlor and talk show always annoy me.  If you want to chat, get on the phone.  Text message?  Seriously, I needed to do two things in this bathroom.  One, I needed to pee and two; I needed to wash my hands.  Sorry to interrupt your preening and gossip fest, but me, your paying customer, would like to get back to my table.

I love seafood. I really like the idea of the pot with corn, crab, shrimp, and so on.  What I don't like is paying a high price to eat little.  The Crab Pot is like Korean barbecue or other things that a group might share.  I always feel that with sharing, depending on who you eat with,  sometimes you never get full enough, or the food is divided according to who can eat the fastest, and that is rarely, if ever, me.  Therefore, I come out a sad, bitter, hungry Jen who feels that she got ripped off and things were not even.  Sometimes sharing is like survival of the fittest.

I just didn't like the idea of sharing the pot.  Well, unless if was with family, which would leave splitting duties up to my mom who would about put a fork through your hand if you weren't sharing equally.  But regardless of my mom dividing things up equally, I am still selfish with sharing (ha, I almost said that I am shellfish!) What can I say, I have a brother and we had our own room, own clothes, own toys.  I need to work on speaking up and the whole sharing thing.

Not wanting to spend too much cash, we both opted for salmon burgers.  I adore salmon.  Maybe not so much in a burger however.  The fish taste was incredibly strong and overwhelming.  It was bland, spice / flavor-wise, and just too fishy.  Ugh, it wasn't good.  I didn't even finish half so I gave it to hubby.  He wasn't jumping up and down like he usually is about my leftovers.  Let's just say that it wasn't because he was still hungry either.

It just felt / tasted too commercialized and chain restaurant-like.  BORING.

But yes, I will admit, that I might have had a better experience if I had the seafood pots.  Sigh...

My friend and I ordered the king crab (so much crab, we couldn't finish the last leg, sadness!) which came with potatoes and corn.  My friend had king crab at Anthony's the previous night and mentioned that the texture was better at Anthony's.  I thought the taste was good, but similar to what I've had at Red Lobster.  The Crab Pot also has a nice selection of beer both on-tap and in the bottle.  The Pyramid Hefeweizen was on tap and delicious.

However, the service was not the best.  Our server said he'd take a picture of us before we started the meal (with all the food in front of us) and didn't come back for a good 20-25 minutes.  At that point, we were so frustrated with the hammers that we asked for nut crackers which weren't provided initially.  He then said he'd be right back with those and another 15 minutes went by.  When we finally got the nut crackers, I was bleeding on one hand from piercing it with a crab shell and we were basically finished with the meal.  Only after we finished, did we have to remind him about the picture he initially promised to take.  I know you have to work for your food when eating crab, but you shouldn't have to suffer for it.

We paid about $55 each for crab, two drinks, tax, and a tip.

Started to write a review about this place - figured it's not worth my time!  Don't go, hopefully it will close and someone will open a real restaurant with more flavor, better atmosphere, nicer wait staff, cheaper prices and a maybe a heater.  I would give it ZERO stars but one is a low as I can go.

We took my father-in-law here for dinner when we couldn't get a babysitter for Brooklyn.  He loves seafood and my husband saw an ad for this place in an inflight magazine.  The hubbie loved the restaurant.  My father-in-law thought it was pretty good.  It is definitely a great place to take kids to (especially if they are like mine and want to throw their food on the floor).  The food was better than I had expected based on other reviews I read.  We ordered Alaskan for 3 people.  Our waitress recommended that she only bring 2 out and see how we did.  She also pointed out that the food would go cold and who wanted to eat cold seafood.  When we decided not to order the 3rd (had to take the toddler outside and let her run off some of her energy) she had no issues with that.

The service was fantastic - would give them 5 stars.  Our waitress was great as was the rest of the staff.  The busboy and hostess were great with helping out when it was crazy.

I'll definitely go back again.

It's fairly simple.  There is much better seafood to be had and at a much better price.  If you want to spend a few bucks on touristy searfood spots on the Pier, head over to Anthony's or Ivars.  The quality/price/ambience/service index is lacking significantly.  I wouldn't spend my hard earned cash here.

Our party had a panorama of menu items ranging from the clam chowder and king crab salad to the seafood brouchette and fish/chips.  Every dish was bland and underwhelming.

Would not recommend/Will not go back.

Roll up those sleeves, get over it and wear a bib and come hungry. We came here for the love of crab. Yes, its not a 5 star place per say and its also a chain but do not let this deter you from enjoying buckets of goodness with LOADS of butter to dip anything you might want into. Dont think about it, just dunk. We came with a group of 6 girls and did some damage.

We ordered 2 buckets with snow crab, king crab, mussles, clams, sausage, and all of them come with corn and potatoes. They dumped it onto our table, gave us some bloody marys and we were ready to roll. The bloody marys were good, very peppery but it hit the spot.

The food was good, covered in paprika mostly but like I said, I think i dunked every morsel into some butter for flavor.  We ordered one more order of just King crab because well thats the best.

It was a lot of food. We were stuffed but had so much fun. Our waitress was super friendly and enjoyed in the fun of what we were doing. "Go to town with it girls!"

The prices are about $25-$35 per person per bucket. Its reasonable for the amount of food that you get with sourdough bread and butter as well.

We sat outside which was really nice, inside smells a bit damp. Come here for a craving to just eat with your hands and have fun. This is not gourmet, its called the crab pot.

We left with a messy table, and pots full of the aftermath. I would recommend this place and would return for more.

This place is fun with a group of people! We ordered the Alaskan, which is basically a huge bowl of crab legs (King Crab and Snow Crab), shrimp, mussels, clams, corn on the cob, potatoes, and slices of sausage. The crab was tender and delicious, and the corn and potatoes were the perfect sides to go with it. I don't even like mussels and liked these ones :)

The whole experience was a blast! You each get a bib, wooden board, and mallet, and they lay out a sheet of butcher paper on the table. When they bring out the bucket, they pour everything out on the table for you to dig into.

We also ordered the fried prawns and chips. Best I've ever had! Perfectly battered and really fresh fish. I'm sure the fish and chips is awesome, too.

There's lots of natural daylight in the covered outdoor area (which is nicely heated). Definitely a nice find on the waterfront!

A group of my friends came up from the Bay Area for PAX weekend, so this night somehow turned into a Man vs Food night - some of us came here to Crab Pot to tackle the feasts, while some others went up to Beth's Cafe to do the 12 egg omelet challenge instead. I'd say the only highlights of the feast were the snow crabs, potatoes (the seasoned ones anyway), and the corn (while shrunken and slightly dry, the seasoned ones were still good). Everything else was either mediocre or just plain bad: the oysters and mussels were just okay, the shrimp hadn't been cleaned and was overcooked and tough, and the sausage was dry and rubbery as well.

While the food that came was dumped into a steaming pile, it cooled far too quickly, and lukewarm seafood is mediocre at best. The dull wooden mallets we were given for the crabs seemed awfully inefficient, considering other places I've been to give you spiked mallets and/or nutcrackers. And for the $30 or so I ended up paying, I felt that I could have gotten a much better meal elsewhere. But hey, at least the service was okay, and I was in good company.

This place is such a tourist trap, but the location is quite nice, so no complaining about that. The atmosphere is chill, you are next to the waterfront. It's a good place to come and enjoy some seafood after walking around seattle. Gives you time to stretch out your legs and have a lovely view.

The service was excellent. The waitress was such a sweetie, she made sure we were accomodated. My glass of water was filled every five minutes or so it seemed like! I really appreciated that because I was beyond dehydrated.

I would have loved to have ordered the seafood bucket just to play with the mallet & let out my cave woman savageness, but it seemed like way too much food for me, so i grudgingly ordered the blt salmon "burger". Damn fine "burger" I must say... even though it was more like a sandwich! The bread was hearty and it seemed like it had pesto which made it extra delicious because I love me some pesto! Yum. The salmon itself was intensely flavorful and fell apart from how tender it was. I ate the whole thing in one sitting. I didn't even need the bacon because the salmon and fillings were sufficient but the bacon was nice and crispy. It was a good addition.

The best part was looking at everyone go savage on some seafood if they ordered the buckets. So if you enjoy some people watching, come here. It'll be a real treat, believe me. Here you can witness some grungy big looking men eating with bibs and looking like babies. It's cute, really!

I imagine that this is a place every tourist goes. My family loves seafood and I cant always win the restaurant choice so we have to go once in a while. I pretend that I only do it for them but the truth is, I really enjoy it. They do actually dump the food right on your table but I guess that's part of the appeal.
It's a great family outing and the food is pretty good. If you have never tried it, you should but bring a camera...

It's nice to try the first time around, but I never went back after that.

The bucket of seafood was nice in quantity but the quality is OK. The seafood wasn't really marinated well (if at all).

Go here for some seafood grubbing with plenty of money.

Each of my three visits to Seattle has been accompanied by a trip to the famous Crab Pot here on Alaskan Way. And honestly, it hasn't gotten old. There aren't many places where you get a huge bucket of seafood dumped on your table while you brandish a wooden mallet and wear a bib. It's worth coming here for the experience alone. The seafood is pretty average, however, and the wait times can be pretty long.

Overall, a Seattle experience that's worth doing a couple times.

Summary: 3/5 stars
+Mallets, bibs, buckets, and butter!
+Love the location

Wow..this place sure did suck. I remember Man vs. Food dude saying the crab was so fresh and blah blah...more like frozen and tasteless. The best thing I had out of the Snow and Dungeness Crap boil was the red potatoes. Even the corn was dry and shriveling.
I did enjoy the bustling atmosphere and our server was nice enough. The two little mallets are fun for busting the crab up but food is priority one and this place really drops the ball. Never coming back.

My favorite part about eating here are the bibs and little wooden mallets they give us. AH! Ordered a westport for me and 3 other friends along with a pitcher of hefeweizen = PERFECT COMBINATION; YUM-O! The corn was absolutely deeee-lish as well as the crab and the andouille sausage. I'm not a huge fan of butter but when I tried the crab in butter, oh my WOW, my mouth went crazy!

Luckily, we beat the rush of hungry crowds and were seated at their other part of the restaurant; about a 30 steps from their main place. The view was so pretty because you get the "we catch this fresh" feeling.

The wait was indeed long. The food does look appealing. After 75 minutes of waiting, we finally got our chance to try this place. The atmosphere was definitely a plus as it is located on the waterfront and giving you the opportunity to look at Seattle's ports. I thought it was unique that you order like an Chinese family style.

Given that I've been to Boiling Crab, this place doesn't even come close to comparison. The taste though is very different, but it can be a lot better here at the crab pot.  Maybe its Seattle's style of taste?

Anyways if I ever go back to Seattle, I just may give them another try to see if it was just a bad night I went to on my first visit.

Crab pot??? Really???  No how about renaming it to "let's just boil the seafood in a hot pot and then take them out and throw them into one pot and throw some dry rub spices on it..."

Come on!  I can't believe we waited in line for all the hype and it turned out to be the worst seafood restaurant we've ever dine at.  My girlfriend and I were on vacation in Seattle last month for the first time and we read the reviews and all the flyers.  Trust me, this place was not worth the money.

I think all they do is they get their crab, mussels, clams, oysters and they boil it in water.  Then they put them in one pot and sprinkle seasoning over it.  There's no pre-seasoned or marinated taste.  So bland, so overpriced and so over-rated.

Save your money and go somewhere else!

This place was a total bummer.  The staff was crap, the management was meh... and the drinks were weak.  I took a bachelorette party there since it was the only thing requested by the Bride and the staff treated us like crap.  They sat and re-sat us like 3 times  and once we did receive service our server was totally not friendly or helpful.  I mean this was a big night for our bride to be and they totally put a damper on the evening.  Lame.

The food was pretty good and it was fun having the food on the table.  But this tourist trap was not worth the money, stress, or time.

If you want to get down to your primitive barbaric roots while eating (with out the hunting gathering part), this is the place to be.

This time we had the huge Alaskan feast and it was delicious!  Well, for $35 you get a bunch of crab, clams, mussels, corn on the cob, potatoes...

It was a lot or work to eat it all, literally.  But it was good! and fresh! It wasn't too heavy of a meal because we worked a lot to get to eat it.

The biggest recommendation I would have is to toss the seafood feast in something more flavourful. The potatoes were too bland to eat :(. And the seafood would have been better in some garlic or chipotle sauce. Or if they had a choice of sauce/flavour to toss them in .

Came here with a friend who was visiting. We had to wait about 45 minutes, but were able to sit at the bar for cocktails and apps. (oysters were yummy & fresh!) We got the seafood combo that they dump on the table. The crab was amazing! I think next time I will just get the crab instead of all the other stuff (clams, mussels, & shrimp).

After seeing the Crab Pot on Man vs Food, the wife wanted to check out the place (as a side, I was interviewed at Red Mill on the episode).  I've been to the Crab Pot twice over the past 12 years, with neither visit being very memorable, but we went anyway in honor of the show.  As we were going for the seafood feast, we didn't get any starters for the group.  They had Trummer Pilsner on draft, which was a plus, so we started off with a pitcher for the table.  Our table opted for the Alaskan, which is what Adam Richman had on the show and contains Alaskan King crab, Dungeness crab, snow crab, shrimp in shell, steamed clams, pacific mussels, andouille sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes.

Overall, the steamed crab were all excellent, with the King being my favorite.  The shrimp was ok, although not cleaned.  The clam and mussels were overcooked a bit, so the texture wasn't that great.  The andouille sausage, however, was a nice touch, esp. with the clams and mussels.  Four orders for 4 people was way too much food, however, and there were enough leftovers to easily feed another person.

We sat outside, which is probably a better choice, given that the inside seemed a bit dark, crowded and dirty.  Not sure if I will return soon, but seems like a popular destination with visitors and has survived the test of time, as there was definitely no recession there.

OK, so I made have made a mistake ordering the cheeseburger from this place when I went there but I'll be honest and say I went here for the Trumer Pils they had on tap, not the food.

I had just finished running a marathon so seafood wasn't something I was really able to hold down.  I needed some meat to replenish and some beer to refresh!

The service was meh.  I guess you are walking up to a serving line and ordering but the guys behind the counter seemed a bit disorganized.  Also, they questioned why my brother and I wanted to order two beers each at the same time.  Well, maybe we're paying with credit cards and don't want to have to swipe twice?  Maybe we just ran a marathon and know we're going to kill the first round and don't want to have to get back up and walk to the line to get another round?  Maybe we know it's going to take 15 minutes to get our food so we'll need another beer by the time it gets there?  Maybe...ALL OF THE ABOVE.  Anyway, the server called over a manager who looked at us like we were youngin's who may be ordering an extra round for some under-agers.  Give me a break.  If it was some law in WA to not serve more than 1 drink per person at a time he should have said so.

We explained that we had just run a long race and just wanted two beers a piece to go with our food.  The manager said something to the effect of "that's great!  Well I tell you what, go ahead and order those and the next round is on me."  The guy ringing us up looked at the manager a little puzzled as he rang us up...did he charge us for 2 beers or 4?  Well, they went ahead and charged us for 4.  We had to get up to get our second round ANYWAY, it was not delivered with our food.  Then, when I went up for said "round on us" the manager proceeded to tell me I misunderstood him...as did his employee I guess.  Weak.

The burger was good but the service was kind of weak.  You never like to feel as if the employees think you are lying or trying to sham them or doing something shady like serve beer to minors.  That was not staying true.

1 star for location, 1 star for raw ingredients. How can you mess up seafood on the harbor? Do they have an afghani chef? Why would you put thick sliced onions in a seafood bisque? I don't get it. I could reach down into the sea and grab my own crab from where I was sitting. FIRE THE CHEIF!
Also, don't act like you are taking down my oder if you are not. Waitress had the nerve to ask what we ordered after waiting for our food for 40 mins.

Located on pier 57 this is one of the best places I have been for a bucket of fresh steamed seafood. They dump the whole thing on your table and provide you with a mallet, cocktail fork, and most importantly, a bib. No plates for you. It's all very caveman like as you grunt and crack the shell off your crab and pick the meat out. It's a very fun, messy, experience.

There are a couple different seafood feast options. I had "The Westport" which is Dungeness crab, Snow Crab, Shrimp in the shell, Steamed Clams & Pacific Mussels, Andouille Sausage, corn on the cob & red potatoes. It's all seasoned and served with lemon and butter. There was also Tabasco on the table which was nice for the clams and mussels.

The crab was so sweet and the mussels buttery. The shrimp came whole so had not been cleaned first. If you can get past that they do taste great. Everything else lying on the table was really good I just found myself going back to the crab.

Good food, service and location.

Being at the Pier, the restaurant has a nice view. During the warmer months, they have outdoor seating as well. It's a great place for a large group, when people come from out of town, and things like that. You eat here for the experience, not the food. The quality of the seafood is ok, prices aren't much higher than average, but the restaurant has a fun atmosphere.

I just wish they offered more flavorful options since their only sauce is melted butter on the side, and the only spice is a dash of dry cajun seasoning sprinkled on top.

I had a lovely time, didn't have to wait long, even though my husband and I went there for dinner on Labor Day. Our hotel was within walking distance of the Crab Pot and when I called ahead, they wouldn't take reservations and I was told the wait would be 40-50 minutes. We waited for 5 minutes and were seated. Ordered the Alaskan Feast, which is pretty much a bucket of Dungeness crab, Snow crab, mussels, clams, shrimp, andouille sausage, corn on the cob and baby red potatoes steamed with spices and then dumped atop a sheet of butcher paper onto your table and you, the diner, armed with only a wooden mallot and board are expected to attack your food. My 4-year old son had fun dipping the delicious seafood into melted butter and my husband and I enjoyed the fresh taste, his dark lager was great, my iced tea was weak and the waiter took 17 minutes (I timed him) to bring me a refill. The food was fresh, well-prepared and delicious, although for some reason we had a bunch of empty clam shells with no clams inside... ;-(
The walk back to the hotel on a balmy summer (ok, end of summer) night was perfect, we left sated but not over stuffed.

This place is very crowded, and people are even waiting outside for a seat! Staff is friendly and helpful!

My boyfriend and I ordered Clam Chowders, Crab Dip, Fish and Chips, and Clam Strips and Chips. I usually love clam chowder, but their clam chowder was really runny and tasteless. The crab dip was disappointing, and my fish and chips was dry. It was not a meal worth the calories.

I'm pretty sure this is a great place to go if you are a seafood fanatic and want to pig out on those buckets of crabs while wearing those bibs. But since that is not my type of cuisine, I probably ordered all the wrong things. Everyone else around me seemed to be really enjoying their food though!

Overall, I think it's a fun place to go if you're in the area!

This is the ultimate tourist gag, but for me (a tourist) I couldn't be happier with the night.  After seeing it highlighted on The Travel Channel, I just had to come here and eat a whole table worth of seafood.  And I did.

On a summer day, Pike Place and the waterfront area is bustling with tourists, and at 6pm the restaurant was already quite full with a wait for an outside table.  We opted for an indoor table and were seated immediately.  The couple at the table next to us said that it was their 30th time eating there, and that they recommended either the $24.95 seafeast or the $34.95 Alaskan seafeast that comes with Alaskan king crab (prices are per person).  There's a minimum of 2 people for each seafeast, but really why else are you going to this place?  Order it. Everyone else does!  The bib, mini-mallet and personal wood board are perfect picture opportunities, and the giant metal bowl full of steaming seafood, sausage, potatoes and corn make it a messy but memorable night.

They have a rhubarb cake for dessert that a couple of tables ordered, but it is literally a full-sized loaf so be warned.  My group was so full from the seafeast that we opted for a nice brisk walk up the steep streets for dessert instead.

What made me give this tourist trap 5 stars was the atmosphere of the place.  It's right on the pier, the sun was shining, everyone was happy, and the soft sounds of mallet hitting shell is quite musical to those who love seafood.

This is definitely not a date place, and don't even think about wearing nice clothes.  Oh, and for ladies with long hair- don't forget your hair tie or clip! A girl a few tables down had her long hair hanging in front of her bib, and I shudder to think how much crab juice now paints her delicate curls.  Heaven forbid your hair AND your fingers must smell like seafood afterward!

Note: after consuming so much seafood, you will get a sea-food coma.  But it is a beautiful thing.

The crabpot is a good seafood restaurant. If you are a big seafood person, this is the place to try out. I'm not into seafood anymore, since I found out that I am allegeric to seafood. How sad....:( I came here with a huge party of 18, and no reservation. It was a hour wait, and the weird thing was, this was on a tuesday night. Overall, everyone loved it. Even the non seafood eaters like me gives kudos to crabpot.

Their clossal burger was good. It is a half pound burger with bacon and cheese. How delicious, too bad I won't be eating like this anymore. :)

I give kudos! Give it a try!

WhooooHooooo! Y-U-M-M-Y! I know I use "yummy" for everything but I love seafood, especially like this: steamed in yummy goodness, spread on the table, mallet, and hands!

The wait was a bit long - for us about an hour and a half....

The staff wasn't very nice or accomodating...

I'm sure there was something better in Seattle but this place was advertised in every tourist brochure so we went for it!

Saw it on Man vs. Food, thought it looked like a fun Seattle-touristy place to eat and that was exactly what it was.  Would have skipped it if I had realized it was a chain and that I live less than 1 hour from 2 other Crab Pots.  Oh well.  Had the seafood 'trough' (as I'm calling it).  Crab, clams & mussels were tasty, shrimp were tough and veined (not deveined).  My drink was stiff and my husband's local brew (amber ale) was yummy, so that balanced out the average Joe's & Bubba seafood.

Our very first meal in Seattle and it was DELICIOUS!

We called a few days in advance to see if we could get reservations b/c we heard the wait was LONG, but they didn't take reservations. Upon arrival, my friends dropped me off so I could wait for a table while they searched for parking but I was seated outdoors immediately. We ordered their famous crab cakes and their special of the night: crab stuffed mushrooms for appetizers (we were STARVING) and then had their signature seafood fest for two (which three of us couldn't finish).

If you plan to eat here, be prepared to get down and dirty with your meal. You will eat with your hands, crab will be in your hair, and you will leave a buttery/crab shell mess! They give you a cute little bib, an entire roll of paper towels, a little cutting board for a plate and a mallet and you are on your way. Don't forget to ask for a crab cracker b/c that mallet is cute, but it won't break through any crab shells! They come out and pour out your crab pot on the table and you just start grabbing, cracking, peeling, and chowing down!

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. My girlfriends and I couldn't even talk during our meal b/c we were so busy chomping away! I thought the seafood was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and you get a good variety of crab, shrimp, corn, sausage, etc. so you get a well rounded seafood meal that seemed very "Seattle" to me. Personally, I would've liked less shrimp and more crab! When you're this busy eating, I appreciated the server for constantly coming back to check on us and give us refilled drinks. You also get a big mixing bowl to throw all your scraps in - which was very useful. Get all the garbage out of the way so I can EAT! :)

I would say this is a great place for groups, nothing intimate/romantic. It's a fun and delicious meal and was a great way for us to start our Seattle weekend right!

Was in town for a week and friends said I had to try this place.

Went there on a friday night and waited about 30 minutes for a seat outside.

They dump a bucket of seafood right on your table to tear away at.  For the amount of money per bucket, you don't get much crab.  I'll admit that the dungeness crab was really sweet.  The food overall was pretty good and I'd probably go back but the service not great.  The waiter was friendly but hard to reach.

I'd recommend this place as it is a tourist stop but would try some of the other restaurants on the pier.

My boyfriend's mom is in town from middle-of-nowhere in AZ and on a mission to experience food she hasn't had much (or any) access to since she moved there.

Pick of the night? Seafood. Mostly because I remember having one of their feasts (at the Bellevue location) and there's just something I love about putting on a bib and eating with my hands (and tools outside the usual silverware).

So after bearing with horrible traffic for about 1-1.5 hours (instead of our expected 15-minute drive) we finally arrive on the waterfront. It's about 7pm on a Saturday evening. There's no free parking, so we end up paying $10 at a lot. Then we walk in.... it's a little smelly, very packed, and not as nice looking as I thought it would be. Oh, well. So we go ahead and put our name on the list.... and then ask what the wait is. Answer? 1-1.5 hours. Whaaaaat!? I wonder if that's the norm, cause.... that's ridiculous.... and yet we see a LOT of people waiting it out.

We end up going outside, calling the Bellevue location, and finding out that we'd be able to get in and seated right away. So... that's where we went.

I'm guessing the food was probably the same (which, in my opinion, is "okay/pretty" good but not... orgasmic), but.... I prefer the Bellevue location because I think it's a little nicer, still on the water (the elusive Lake Bellevue--- it's surrounded by buildings), and we didn't have to wait.

Loved it! I went here with my family while we were on a road trip. My little table of 5 spent as much as my other family's table of 10. LOL. But a table full of crab legs, clams, mussels, corn, and sausage, why would I complain?

Just take your mallet, start smashing and enjoy! Well worth what we paid. I think it was my favorite meal during my whole vacation. Who says you can't play with your food.

Feast! I left feeling full and satisfied. Service was good and food was great. The food did cool faster since we were sitting outside and they won't reheat it for you... But other than that, good. We had the Pacific Clambake: dungeness crab, snow crab, oyesters, mussels, clams, salmon, halibut, corn, andouille sausage, and potatoes.
