Best buffalo shrimp in the world!!!!! We are regulars at this dive and have never been disappointed! My mother loves their long island iced teas as well :)

The Blue Crab appetizers were exceptional.
We landed on a nite when they had Flounder & Trigger as catch of the day.
You can get it baked for an extra $1.00.
This place is VERY casual...hope you don't mind eating out of a basket and
using plastic forks. -

Crab Catchers was suggested to me by a business owner in Calabash, NC. We went for dinner with my wife's family and they all seemed to really enjoy it and have a great time. I felt bad, because I KNOW I'm a seafood snob raised on fine seafood dining in Charleston, SC. Personally, I would have given Crab Catchers 2 stars, but due to everyone else in my party loving every bit of it, and their enjoying it to a four star level, I have to average it out to 3 stars.
The atmosphere and ambiance was not to my liking: plastic utensils, paper towels on a roll instead of napkins, and paper plates. Again, I am admitting that I am a snob and I probably shouldn't let those things influence my rating, but they do. Very casual atmosphere, a little too casual. One of the waiters (not ours) was wearing street clothes and a Braves hat. A little more professionalism would be nice...
The food was okay. The family had crab legs, I ordered the grilled shrimp and scallops. Neither were exceptional, but I got the feeling this restaurant was more about fried seafood and not so much grilled.
To wrap up, if you like a laid-back atmosphere and lots of fried seafood, then this is your place. It's got that and from what my wife's family said, they love it and will be back. For those of you who are self-admitted snobs and enjoy pure seafood, grilled and lightly seasoned with the choice of a good wine...then no...this is not your place. -

This is my update review. I'm just going to share to you guys how my second visit here went.
So my friends and I went there to eat for dinner. For appetizer, we ordered chicken wings, it is served with wing sauce, blue cheese and celery. Just by eating this appetizer, I can't wait for the main meal. So for the main meal, I tried the seafood platter. From what I remember, it has fried shrimp, crab cake, crab, oysters. It was a good meal! I finished it all up. And after eating I was so full and satisfied!
Not all seafood restaurants offer good seafood meals and I think this is one of the best seafood restaurant I've been. A must try! :)1 Previous Review: Show all »

PROS: For an outdoor place, excellent location on the IC Waterway. Great breeze and view and I'm not one for heat tolerance. Blue crab bites are excellent! Good drink and seafood choices.
CONS: Not many broiled/grilled options. Most things are fried. -

Hands down the best seafood place around Myrtle Beach worth a drive. Reasonable prices for incredible food. Sit outside and enjoy the view. First time I had fried corn... so good. Huge fried scallops with light southern style breading were perfect.

I just love this place. Maybe it's the fact that I'm from Michigan and I love eating on the water. Maybe it's because it's so darned casual and I'm on vacation and relaxed. Or, maybe it's because the seafood tastes as if it's been fished an hour before you eat it! YUM! I love the oysters. Love them. The grouper is so fresh, it melts in your mouth. Yes, most of the fish is fried, but it is so reasonably priced and so good, you can't wait to return to eat it again! Don't bring your kids, this is really not a great place for them. If you are fussy about plastic silverware and really casual eating, go somewhere else. I for one, love Crab Catchers and can't wait to return. Next time I'm in Myrtle Beach, I think I'll go at least twice!

I was invited by a friend to this hideaway spot a few years ago. Delicious spot to get fried fresh seafood cooked to order and the scallops are as big as your hand! SERIOUSLY! Never seen anything like the size of the scallop........ There is a bar in case you want to go somewhere for drinks only too.
If you are big on atmosphere and buffet, this is not the place to be. The place is small and sits on a marsh land. You get to watch boats and yachts pass by if you are on the deck though which is pretty cool.
Definitely, a great hideaway to relax in an ADULT, come as you are, atmosphere! Sorry, not a place for the kiddies! So, please don't destroy the mood by bringing them because this is an adult getaway! :)
Next time you are in North Myrtle Beach or South Myrtle Beach, drop in to the non-dieters FRIED seafood shack! Planning on eating here again on my return to Myrtle Beach, SC. -

This place is amazing. My grandpa is from Biloxi, MS, so I grew up eating lots of great seafood. The food at this place rivals any seafood I've ever had.
The atmosphere is almost as great as the food. They've got a deck that sits out over the water with great music playing all night. There's also an outdoor bar that sits in the middle of the deck. There are boats and alligators passing by every few minutes. The waitstaff is very friendly and laid back.
This is the place to go if you want to get away from the standard Myrtle Beach hot spots, and get a taste of how the locals kick it. -

Tried Crab Catchers this weekend for the first time, Won't be my last..
I love water so eating out side was a treat. The peacefulness of the Inter
Coastal Waterway plus fishing boats tied up 30 feet from the front door means your close to the source your fixing to eat!!! We didn't wait long
for our table, which was on the roof. Our waitress was very attentive, this is always a Plus..A roll of paper towels on our table no frills here, a rustic
old place made our visit even better. My wife had the fried shrimp, this came with two sides, one choice was deep fried corn on the cob, Not bad.
One of our friends had grilled shrimp.looked good, she ate it all must have
been good. I had the catch of the day which was flounder or grouper. My
flounder was thick pieces , fried just right. Came with hush puppies, A
relish type slaw, I thought was good, and baked potato, just right..Our
glasses never went empty. The portions are not huge, but good,I'm a big eater. A night away from the crowd's was very pleasant. I bet we'll slip back as soon as we can.. -

Sunset Beach, NC
The last few times I've been here the food has been way too greasy. They have been much better in the past & need to return to their former fried glory. The 4 star rating is very generous considering how poor my latest meals there really were & is based entirely upon my previous experiences.
If you don't like fried seafood, this is not the place for you. So please don't say I didn't care for their grilled this or that. Yes they will grill it, but that's not what they really do. They fry it.Listed in: Favorite Restaurants, Best Casual Lunches

Cary, NC
Very laid back seafood restaurant on the waterway in Little River. Like anywhere else in this area, parking is difficult, thanks to the casino boats. These places can get kind of crowded too. However, once you get a table, the food here is good and the outside waterfront seating atmosphere is wonderful. Very casual place, though. Sit on a picnic bench and paper towels on the table kind of place, which never bothers me.

To be fair, I'm writing this review as a vegetarian. My girlfriend and I both are in town visiting family over the holidays and everybody else is a seafood lover, so we went here. As far as veggie fare, there are a few things to pick from: salad, baked potato, deep fried corn on the cob (which was pretty interesting). From what I observed and overheard from the rest of the table the seafood was pretty good. Might not want to make it your first choice if you aren't a seafood fan (duh, right?), but you can certainly make do if you have to go. The wait staff was very kind and courteous.

This place is the BEST! I lived in South Carolina for five years, and now every time I come down to visit, I have to eat here. The deep fried corn is probably one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. The seafood is fresh, and I love the atmosphere. This restaurant has more character than most five star restaurants I have been to. The southern hospitality shines through, and I am never disappointed. Crab Catchers always makes me want to move back to South Carolina.
