Cozy Noodle is, by far, the best delivery Thai food I've had in Chicago. I'm eating it as I write this from my couch. Fresh, authentic, consistent. Fell in love with Cozy living in the neighborhood and going into the quaint, kitsch-filled dining room for 2 for 1 entree deals we found on our Jewel receipts and on delivery menus. If you live in the hood, keep your eyes peeled for coupons -- they give out so many you will start to feel guilty for using them, I promise.
The restaurant itself is tiny, tables are small, and the style of service is somewhere between traditional noodle shop and dinner at your friend's parent's house. I have read other reviews talking about reservations and service... not really what you go here for. My experiences have been all over the map, but maybe it's because I am a server I can overlook the failings by having reasonable expectations. At least one person smiles at me every time I go in, the owners are very sweet and have remembered my boyfriend for years, and I'm not disappointed I can't have more in-depth conversation with my server. More importantly, the food....
We are both guilty of ordering the same thing at Cozy for months at a time, if not longer. Staple orders include, but are not limited to:
-- Pad Khee Mao (delicious soft wide rice noodles, a lot of fresh vegetables, spicy! and I want it every day)
-- Golden Noodles (we order spicy -- Cozy Noodle single-handedly converted me from heat-wimp to red chili flake lover)
-- Broccoli Beef (light almost broth-like sauce with al dente broccoli, tender beef and LOTS of shaved fresh ginger root... awesome)
-- Noodles Panang (creamy, lightly sweet curry with a hint of spice, menu dish comes with large crispy noodles that aren't great for delivery, so they happily replace them with soft rice noodles upon request)
-- Tom Kar (spicy, perfectly done coconut milk base, I go mixed vegetables, so good)
The curries are good too, milder and mellow. Tom Yum soup, bright and refreshing and really good. Only thing we usually skip are the appetizers. The Crab Rangoon are the best I've ever had (though cream cheese belongs on bagels and not Asian food for me), but all the rest are golden fried, semi-bland sauce vessels for me. And, of course, that sauce is excellent.
Delivery is affordable, friendly, and fast (29 mins today!!), and I have yet to have an issue with my order. Cozy Noodle is fresh, delicious, and healthier than ordering a pizza. If I don't get my weekly Cozy fix, the cravings get out of hand!! I love you, Cozy Noodles and Rice. -

We had a horrible experience here. I made reservations for a party of 10 for a friend's birthday. We were going to a comedy show in the area so planned the meal with enough time to do both. Our reservation was at 8:00 but they told us they had us down for 8:30 on accident and we had to wait. So at 8:30 I asked when we would be seated and she told me IT WOULD BE ANOTHER 45 - 60 MINUTES.
So I asked what was the point of making a reservation 2 weeks in advance and she said "we take reservations as a guideline. That does not mean we will actually have a table"
Wait. What? Isn't that the point of a reservation? So after standing there for 30 minutes already we had to leave. There was no way we could wait and still make our show.
SIDENOTE: I have eaten here before and it's good thai - but Joy's and Penny's (where we ending up going and they were super nice and accommodating) have WAY better food and aren't rude to customers. -

Best Thai in North Chicago. They are always packed during evening hours. So you might have to wait. In the summer they have outside seating that is nice.
Their Tom Yum soup is the best I have had in all of Chicago.
Great even on a Cubs game day. They even have a great money saving special on a game day. -

Lunch for $1.99? That actually tastes like food? You gotta be kidding me, right?
well, if I have not had it myself afew times, I would not have believed it ...
Have I mentioned intersting decor?
Enjoy! -

Great funky BYOB dive with stylish interior and very inexpensive Pan-Asian, good service, casual.

Review from Ben B.
Awesome decor, mediocre food, poor service.
I loved how it was decorated. It felt like eating inside a toy store. Lots of old tin toys and robots. A giant Elvis statue. Vintage signs on the brightly colored walls.
I ordered the Dumpling Noodles (Stuffed shrimp dumpling, Chinese broccoli, bean sprouts, egg noodles and BBQ pork. Served in clear broth). The pork was tough and leathery. Didn't taste "barbecue-y" at all. Some of it was gray, which I don't recall being a good color for pork. Eeesh.
The waitress failed to bring one of my friends the soup he ordered. And she never checked up on the table to see if we needed anything. The table didn't have any silverware where I was seated, so I spent a lot of the meal wiping my mouth with my bare hand.
It's a shame Cozy Noodle didn't put as much attention on their food and service as they did their decor. -

I respect anyone who has something negative to say, but DON'T LISTEN TO THEM! This place is wonderful. The food is amazing, staff is friendly and the decor is the icing on the cake. I've been eating here for years. Their lunch special(s) can't be beat! I've eaten here for lunch, dinner, carry-out, delivery...you name it and they haven't let me down. A MUST TRY if you're in Wrigleyville.

I'll start with the positive - they allowed me to switch my order when I accidentally left a few things off my online order. The delivery guy was nice and there were no glitches.
However, the food was pretty subpar. The mild curry was bland, the spring rolls didn't taste very fresh and didn't have a lot of vegetables in it. The potstickers were nothing great. Not terrible but I won't be going back when there are so many other great thai places in the city. -

Ordered delivery to the Brew & View which was convenient but with two big errors. They forgot to give us utensils which was requested in the original order. How they expected us to eat our dishes with our hands was beyond me.
Yet the biggest error was that my girlfriend ordered the mixed vegetable noodle dish but with one major thing missing... NOODLES! How they could forget the noodles in a signature noodle dish is ridiculous.
Bad Cozy... very Bad! -

These Noodles are Crazy! Crazy! Crazy! I had a bit of wine when we went here and kept saying that.It wasn't really funny to begin with, but even less so when I found out the name of the place was actually Cozy Noodle (not Crazy Noodle).
Anyway, the food doesn't really separate itself from the 10,000 other Thai joints in the city. However, the atmosphere is so interesting (an Elvis statue and walls lined with strange toys), its BYOB, and it's pretty inexpensive($7-$8). Probably, closer to a 3.5, but it's Christmas time, so lets round up. -

Toys lining the walls? Check. Tables made from antique sowing machines? Check. Great tasting food? Oh mais oui.
This place has great atmosphere, great food and ultimately a great vibe. I used to live two blocks over, and this was a perfect go-to place, especially in the winter. Now, it's mostly delivery, or when visiting friends in the area. I became a regular when I lived nearby, and I stayed a regular even after moving a few miles south.
Try the panang curry, try the shrimp rolls, and wash it all down with a thai iced tea. I haven't had anything here that disappointed me, and considering I'm still getting food from this place, I still haven't been disappointed. -

Awww, I used to live across the street from here so I ate it all the time. The baby shrimp rolls are yummie, good standard pad thai, cool funky bizarre place to sit inside and eat at.

I have been going to cozys for years and years now. I found it in college, and it has been a spot to meet the girls, take my mother, or order in with my boyfriend.
Our absolute favorite thing to order on the menu is the vegetable fried rice, but with brown rice... so good!
The people who work at Cozy are wonderful, and that is why I keep coming back. You want to give them your business. -

Had a lunch with a client a few days ago.
An interesting decor has already been mentioned in other reviews. Who can beat a chicken broth based noodle soup for $1.99? A specialty "Cozy Noodles" is very good too.
I recommend. -

They have some of the best Thai food I've ever had in Chicago & it's super easy on the wallet! I've been going for a number of years now and I've never, ever had a bad meal there. They're also BYOB, with no corkage fee, which is always nice. (Their low prices + great food + BYOB status make it a great choice for treating your friends to a birthday dinner.) They do get pretty busy at night, but even then I've never had to wait more than 20-25 minutes for a table. The decor is bright and the restaurant is filled with old toys from years past. The bathrooms are covered - floor to ceiling - in pez despensers and other toys. It's quite fun to look around at all the crazy stuff on the walls. They have a tiny parking lot that barely fits 4-5 cars and street parking is possible but not super easy. I just wish they weren't so far from my house!!!

The line on a Friday or Saturday night can be crazy long because there is not a ton of seating space here. Sure the decor is quirky, but being squished in awkward spaces while waiting for a table isn't the most pleasant of situations.
I went super simple takeout on a weeknight and ordered chicken pad thai. My order was ready in less than 15 mins, +5 points. I wasn't crazy about the pretty plain pad thai. I'd get it again in a pinch, but I much prefer the wider variety and quality of Penny's down the street. -

Ordered the veggie egg rolls (they sent me "baby eggrolls"), potstickers, panang noodles, tom yum soup and pad see ew.
All were bland, tasteless and severely disappointing. I even specified that I wanted the panang "spicy" and it was a creamy mess of soggy vegetables and dry chicken.
The good news is the delivery was decently fast and the delivery guy was friendly. Not enough to have me patronize this place again. Stripped of all the cutesy decor, the food is just bad. -

*Review based on delivery only.
My main man and I have ordered delivery from Cozy twice now, both times with relatively quick, hot, deliveries. They also always have coupons, from those mailer packets and from their menus - even if it's for something small, I always appreciate those coupons! Their prices are fair to begin with, but adding a coupon results in even happier customers. :-)
Penny Noodles gets our undisputed #1 spot for chicken pad se eew; the #2 spot goes to Cozy!
(side note: why is it that every single restaurant spells pad se eew differently? I have no idea what the correct spelling actually is. Same goes for "lad nar" a.k.a. "lard nar" a.k.a. "lad na")
Cozy also offers the 'crispy pad se eew' option. Which, I think is just a tad too crispy, it's still pretty awesome. Our most recent order, we mixed one standard pad-s.e. with one *crispy pad-s.e., and mixed and split them - and THAT was a good combo.
Have also tried the crab rangoon, which was great (one of the best I've ordered around here), and the shrimp potstickers (okay, but wouldn't have to have them again).
If their delivery is this good, I suspect their food would be even better in house - hopefully will try it there soon! -
Review from Jess I.
This is more like 4.5 stars just because right when I was leaving Chicago, the portions seemed to get smaller.
I don't really know how to start. Well, I had never really had much Thai food before moving to Chicago...small town Northern Wisconsin isn't very, uh, cultural. So I had my first experience with red curry here and what a huge bowl it came in! I was pleasantly surprised and the taste was just as surprising.
They seem to put twists on Thai food that I can't find anywhere else I've ever been. They're Lard Na has CRISPY wide noodles which added such a nice texture to the decadent flavor of the beef, broccoli, and garlic in the gravy sauce. It was nice because after soaking them in the gravy it was perfect. They also have a crispy Pad Thai which is equally as fun to eat!
The decor is out of this world crazy with action figures and toys lined up against the walls and a gigantic Elvis by the registers.
This is where I fell in love with Pad Khee Mao, and this is the reason I blame myself for not being able to enjoy it anywhere else as much as here. They do it SO right!!
They don't do a papaya or mango salad, don't have fish, don't even have green curry, and don't do sticky rice. This is all okay because what they specialize in is in their name. Noodles. Don't expect to come here and get those things, because that's not what they want to do! They know what's more popular, especially among a younger crowd that generally comes here before or after baseball games.
Delivery is lightening fast. Always on time. They always have coupons for you that we always used.
The best part about this place? THE LUNCH SPECIAL!! When I was there they had a lunch special where you could get most of the noodles or entrees for 5 bucks. I'm not kidding. It also came with your choice of appetizer out of about 4. Talk about affordable. Dinner is not much more, at about 7 or 8 dollars per dish. Well worth the trip here, well worth the trip. I definitely miss coming here often. -

Great food!
Great outdoor seating!
Small parking lot on the side and street parking...
Cute place inside too!
People were nice, but service a little bit slow...
Over all, great little dive to eat with my northsider friends!!! -

Just ordered some food from this place. My friends and I made a group order for pickup since it's incredibly close to our apartment.
We ordered the pad thai, crispy pad see ewe, and two mango bubble teas. Walking into the establishment, the interior was cramped (cozy I suppose). As I picked up our food, the girl who greeted me spoke very quickly and with an accent, so it was difficult for me to comprehend. (which is absolutely not her fault).
When I got home, we saw that they completely messed up our order. The free crab rangoon (which is free with a $20 order) was missing, we didn't get mango bubble tea, but taro bubble teas instead. Since it was 10:20pm and the restaurant closed at 10:30pm, I didn't think it was worth it to call and get our order fixed. My friend's pad thai was bland and the pad see ewe was way too salty. Although this place is close, I don't think I'll ever order from here again. -

Oh Cozy how you have disappointed me.
This used to be my favorite Thai place.
I will say I was never very impressed with the bland pad see eiw or the pad thai. I was just obsessed with the panang curry with crunchy noodles. I only ever ordered takeout. LOVE their potstickers, mostly because of the sauce.
Then I ate in... not a good experience. This was post City Chase and we were exhausted. Order my standby and it was bland. The bubble tea was not doing it for me either. Then the delivery truck backed up to right where we were sitting and spewed exhaust and black grime all over us. Not ok but I let it go and went home.
Then I decided they deserved another chance and I ordered in my trusty standby and it was the worst curry I have every had in my life. What happened? It seems that if you don't specify that you want your curry spicy they give you this spice free slop instead. If I didn't want spicy I wouldn't order curry. WTF?
Cozy, you are dead to me! -

Don't think I could add much to all the praise heaped on this place - it's fantastic. Cheap, great food and service, and completely adorable atmosphere. My one tip - eat in restaurant if you can - the portions are much smaller if you get delivery!

Such a great local place. I love taking my nieces and nephews here when they come in town - the decor is really fun. I also love going here with friends for the BYOB. It has wonderful food and great service - not only that it is not very expensive.

Favorite place for a quick bite out or delivery in Chicago. Whether you're dining in or having delivered they're great with timing. I would order from here all the time and not once did I feel I had to wait too long. My suggestion as far as the food Crispy Pad See Ewe and Crab Rangoon. I now live 2000 miles away in LA and I've been craving Crispy Noodle since we've got here. Restaurant is cute and "cozy", and staff is super friendly. They also offer some great coupons online. Highly recommended.

At first glance, this may seem like another cookie-cutter Thai place. Cheap prices and all the standard menu items. However, this place does not deserve such a discredit.
Food is far above any other thai I've had in Chicago. Much fresher, much tastier.
Menu also has some neat twists on standard items (cripsy noodle versions).
Salads are delicious and Tofu is great.
Super attentive staff ready to fill water and help out but that don't annoy.
Place is most definitely 'cozy'. ie- small tight seating and fills up quick (especially given it is BYO) so you may have a little wait on weekends and peak times.
Can't beat getting a bill for two with an appetizer and 2 entrees at just over $20.
Amazing.

As you can see from all of the stars and reviews this place is awesome. I usually order take out or delivery and always get the Pad See Ewe or the Pad See Mao (sp?). Really delicious and cheap. What more could you want from Thai?

After a long on and off hiatus, I decided that writing a few reviews might change my otherwise mundane life to something a little more titillating. Having lived in Chicago for a few weeks now and having visited countless establishments both lauded and worshiped, that spark to write a review hadn't been ignited up until today.
I can't say Cozy Noodle is the best Thai food in the world because it isn't. What I can say is that their service is top notch, their nichey decor is genuine, and their food matches the nearby clientele quite well. I respect Cozy for their prices and portions. The food is less greasy and salty compared to other Thai foods I've had. I can't say much more about the food but the energy and spirit in here alone is worth a visit. -
Review from Mary T.
The lovely Jerry M and I met for lunch here one weekday. I had been here once before, long ago and didn't really remember much about it - except the decor. The decor reminds me of Club Foot; there are toys and figurines everywhere; there are also an assortment of license plates and jewel-top sewing machine tables that serve as two-tops. It's kitschy, kooky and kreepy all at the same time (sorry, had to keep the alliteration going).
We picked the place based on location, but they do have a pretty stellar lunch special. For $5, you get a choice of three starters (cucumber salad, egg rolls and spring rolls) and one of six different noodle dishes. I opted for the cucumber salad and shrimp pad thai (shrimp is a few dollars extra).
The cucumber salad was good, but not what I expected. The cucumber was cut into little nuggets and seasoned with what tasted like some sort of vinaigrette. Service was efficient, almost too efficient, I got my entree before I had the chance to finish the salad.
So why 3.5 stars? Despite being new to Thai, I wasn't that impressed with my pad thai. The size and texture of the noodles surprised me. The noodles were wider than expected, they were the width of fettuccine as opposed to ones the width of linguine. The noodles were cooked al dente; I'm not sure whether this was intentional, but I didn't care for the firmer texture. While the portion was generous, the flavor fell flat with me.
Prices are reasonable - the lunch deal is a steal IMO - the space is cute, it's BYOB, and service is friendly, but the food just didn't impress me. I might be back, but I'm in no rush to do so.Listed in: Hello neighbor..., Melting Pot, Lunch Steals

Love this place, would probably give them 4.5 stars. I have had their chicken pad see ewe many times. I thought the chicken was slightly overcooked and chewy this time but still love the noodles and sauce... I don't think I could go to Cozy without having this dish. Also got the crab rangoon, and the reviews were right! It was awesome, and the sweet and sour sauce could have been the best part since it also has just the right amount of spiciness. The wonton soup was sooo good too, both the broth and shrimp wontons were very flavorful. I will look forward to ordering this on a freezing day this winter. In the past I have had the baby egg rolls, to me they are just okay, nothing special. More than anything, they are just cute and tiny :-)
I have eaten at the restaurant many times, got delivery once. Their delivery was okay. I placed an order at 11am on a Friday and it took over an hour to get to me, I was a little surprised about that. But I would much rather it take a little longer and have fresh, well made food than get some junk delivered to me very quickly.
This is a great place, I recommend it 100% their food is a great non-greasy, well flavored Asian food option! Oh and prices are very reasonable too (check website for lots of coupons). -

Found Cozy Noodle & Rice after a tour of Wrigley Field. The Wall outside said 10% discount with ticket stubs, so we asked if the tour counted. They Accepted! STAR!!
Friendly Staff!
Cool Eclectic decor. Full sized "Wayne John." And a Tall barbie that scared me in the bathroom
Seating for 5 was quick on Sunday evening.
Dishes were overall delicious. Just a little smaller in the portion sizes than the group expected. Good thing we planned to fill up on drink after.
-Spring rolls: I wouldn't consider ordering that again. Mostly just a soft wrapper drizzled with sweet sauce.
-Yellow Chicken Curry: Kinda skimpy on the chicken and veggies. There was a lot more curry sauce.
-Pad See Ew: A usual at all Thai meals I have. It was Good.
-Crispy Pad Thai: Wanted to try something new. I liked it, but my friends didn't like it too much. I guess we all kind of expected the classic thin noodles, but crispy. The noodles were like fried wonton wrappers with Pad Thai taste.
Again smaller portions. -

Went here on a saturday night after a cubs game let out. Ate delicious tom yum soup and cashew chicken. The soup actually had some sweetness which I haven't tasted before and the vegetables and protein (I ordered tofu) were abundant. The cashew chicken came in a generous portion and was well-seasoned and not overly cooked.
The service was very attentive and pleasant. The only drawback is the size of the place which makes for a very long wait time. I would not risk parking my car in that nano-sized lot.
Even though the menu isn't drastically different than the other Thai places I've been to, I really like the ambiance and the customer service. I have to give this only 4 stars because I haven't tried that many dishes yet but I would trust that the others be very good and authentic. It's on my list for places to visit next time, Chicago! -

If you don't like this place, there's something seriously wrong with you.
VERY cozy (small) but I've never waited more than 15 minutes for a table. Even when there's a Cubs game.
Speaking of which, they have all sorts of specials- including (at least last summer) half-price entrees with your game ticket.
Love the kitch all over the walls. Covered in old toys and such... and the food is pretty excellent too! -

I adore Cozy Noodle more than I could possibly express in words. From the kitchy decor to the delicious food at reasonable prices, this is one of my favorite spots in all of Chicago. Be sure to look out for coupons on your Jewel receipts--sometimes you can get a BOGO on entrees or a free appetizer and it really makes for a delicious and inexpensive meal.
By far my favorite item on their menu is their crab rangoon--normally I find rangoon to be mediocre, mushy and just, meh. They take this appetizer to a whole other stratosphere.
And don't forget, it's BYOB. Love Cozy so much! -

I love this place. You get a lot of food for your $. The pad thai is great, not that it's the most authentic tasting, but still delicious. The Tom Kar soup is also really good.
The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because when they deliver food to me, they never include chopsticks and soy sauce :( -

Cute atmosphere, yummy food and very nice staff! I loved the Rama dish... My bf lives down the street and suggested it. I can't wait to go back and try more! No alcohol but it's BYOB. This place is always busy and now I know why. I suggest lunch time rather than dinner if you don't want to wait. They also deliver and do carry out.

Review from Hoang L.
Pad see ew was decent. We asked for spicy and yes, it was spicy. Good job. It was a bit salty though.
Crab rangoon was nothing to brag about. The sweet and sour sauce was a bit runny. The potstickers did not seem like there was anything inside. And the soy sauce given was a bit too thick and sweet.
Outdoor seating is nice though. Not sure if I'd make an effort to come back.
