Featuring two Jack Nicklaus designed courses, Coyote Creek is a golfer's dream. These two 18-hole golf courses offer great views of rolling hills and sweeping meadows across the southern tip of Silicon Valley. With lush manicured fairways, an all grass range, and challenging greens, golfing at Coyote Creek golf course is the kind of remarkable experience that you'll never forget. For two years in a row I've been able to attend Ladies Golf events at Coyote Creek, and I have to comment on how spectacular and attentive the staff is. Kayla and Diane provided us with a fantastic experience on the golf course as well as at the luncheon that followed.
Thank you Kayla and Diane for providing such wonderful experiences!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Johnson N.CA, CA501548Mar 27, 2024
Review about their customer service.
I submitted in multiple requests from their website to inquire about their membership and not received any reply. I went even further by calling and looking to speak with their memberships director. Upon leaving my call back info, I haven't received a callback in over 2 weeks.
Poorly run operation over there. You guys should be trying to operationalize and maximize your revenue somehow but don't follow up with Leads. Smh.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 851206Feb 11, 2024
About the clubhouse: when you walk in you have the bathrooms there and they smell really bad- like a plumbing problem so if you have an event there you want to make sure you see/know that exists.
Went here to play the valley course and the course was average. A lot of squirrels but the course was in good condition and that it was a cart path only course so it really took a long time for 18 holes.
The driving range was in poor condition and we had to wait for baskets as they were all taken. The holes are all pretty good. The carts were cool they have screens and show each hole and yards. No other problems.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ess G.Los Angeles, CA111Apr 17, 2024
Looks like most of the positive reviews are for hosting an event here.
This is for the golf. Pace of play is horrific, and the course does nothing. Be prepared to be trapped for 5.5 hour +. The course has groups tee off every 10 minutes, then don't do anything about slow groups falling behind. You can look back at older reviews about pace of play. Not asking for perfection, but there has to be a way to be better.
Recently got stuck behind a very slow group that took an hour to finish the first 3 holes. Asked them to catch up with the group in front, they got upset. Eventually a single in a cart tried to jump in ahead of them because they're leaving holes empty in front of them. Then the slow group got really upset because they didn't want to wait for this guy and argued with him, hand on hip, pointing at him. What a mess. Saw a guy shank a drive off the tee. Walked over about a 100 yards to pick up his ball, come back to the tee, hit another tee shot. Group was so slow, and didn't care at all about the people behind them who are now on their way to a 6 hour round. I looked over at hole 10 while playing 18. I see on 10, one group on the green, one group waiting to hit up, two groups waiting to tee off, see another group rounding the corner coming from hole 9. Four groups backed up in one hole, soon to be five.
Here is the kicker, the marshalls and the course can't do anything about it. According to them, it is out of their hands and thus not their problem to solve somehow. Marshall did drive by at some point, chatted with the slow group in front, fist bump everyone, then took off. Not to hurry these people up, but just to say hi and make sure everything is to their liking while people are piling up behind them. Which is actually more than most days, because I've seen marshalls sleeping around the course or in the parking lot on the regular.
It's the same group of people that play regularly that hold up play, marshalls know who they are, but according to them, there is nothing they can do but they are obviously buddies so they are letting them do whatever they want. They really talk about it like its out of their hands and ultimately not their problem. I mean, if these slow people can be buddies with the marshalls and be this brazen about holding up play, why wont the marshalls become buddies with the rest of us to keep pace of play reasonable? They'll say things like "but they are platinum members." Amazing how they let members do whatever they want on the course. But if you play this course 4 times a month, guess what, you're giving them more money than these members. This translates to "F you and your money."
Definitely a group of employees here that use the course as their personal playground for themselves and buddies. I've seen marshalls when not working a shift hop into their buddies groups to make groups of five to play a few holes, be slow holding up play, come and go on the course as they please like hot shots. Also would hook up their buddies so every person has a cart in the group, but when you try you are told you can't do that because they're short carts and its their policy. How do you have a cart for each person and still play so slow? Not sure how I feel about paying money to play so these marshalls can get paid to do nothing, to use the course as their personal playing grounds, and hook their friends up to do the same. I've had this starter, an asian guy, that told me to wait past my tee time once because he let his friends that weren't on the tee sheet hop on in front of us. When asked that they are not on the tee sheet, his response was "its my friends, relax."
The course always complains its not making money, I wonder why. I'm sure experiences like this has nothing to do with it.
To be that guy, rules on pace of play. TLDR, USGA encourages enforcing pace of play, no more than 40 seconds per shot, allows committee to set a max stroke limit for players to pick up the ball and advance, set expectations on acceptable behavior.

Affects of slow pace of play. TLDR, slow play isn't just miserable, it adds strokes. If you think lining up your 4th putt on the hole taking forever like its the 18th on Sunday at Augusta is going to save you from losing more money, think again. You're losing money to your "friends" because you suck, there is a way you can do that without wasting everyone's time.

The staff in the pro shop are always nice though. I see negative comments here about the pro shop, but my personal experience has always been good. There are people that work for the course that care about the golfer's experience, unfortunately, the pace of play and the fact nothing can be done about it except for you to accept your fate overshadows the positives.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 20, 2023
This is a shout out to Hayley Lyss who was the coordinator when we were searching for a venue for an event several months ago. I have been wanting to write a review because she was amazing. She was always so responsive to any requests we had about seating, room capacity, menu options etc. At the end of the day, we realized that our final guest count would probably exceed the ballroom and we would have an overflow of guests on the balcony section of the venue, so we opted for a larger venue. It was a tough call for us because Hayley was great to work with! Thank you Hayley!

One of the best golf spots in the Bay Area.
This course has 2 challenging 18 hole courses that are almost always in pristine condition. I'd recommend the "valley course" because of the new bikes you can ride!
The second 18 hole is the "tournament course" and tends to be a bit windy. Much more challenging holes. It's always fun to play a harder course to see how average you really are
Great driving range, putting area and nice golf carts with updated course distances. Not for the beginner, but for an average golfer, it is a great value!
Get out there and hot some golf!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ray K.San Jose, CA412092Dec 20, 2023
This is always my go-to place for practicing my game. The range is only grass tees which is tough to find in the Bay Area and a must for me while the short game and putting areas have plenty of space without feeling crowded. The conditions of both courses (Valley & Tournament) are usually pretty consistent and pace of play has never been too bad for me.

This is a review for the pace of play, which is ruining the golf course. I enjoying playing here but within the past years. The pace of play has been ridiculous. What should only be a 3 to 4 hour of play now take 5 to 7 hours. If your ball is a foot away after 7 putts, pick the shit up. You aren't playing in the women's or men's PGA.
They really need to have to Marshall out there enforcing players to faster their pace or implement a handicap for the tournament side.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David E.Aliso Viejo, CA581272Jul 10, 2023
The STAFF are kind, helpful and understand customer service.
We played the TOURNAMENT COURSE. The price is hefty which includes a hefty club rental fee.
Sadly, it was about 15 degrees hotter than our hood in SoCal which was a bit surprising. The breezes or trees to hide under were nominal at best. I started the day with a bird dog, but the weather began to take a toll. Not the fault of the course, just our reality.
One quality that is not sexy is that it is located near the freeway. TEE BOXES are in decent or better shape mostly. BUNKERS have nice soft sand. FAIRWAYS are fine for what is still technically a California drought. There are tons of squirrels on this course. We even saw a turkey vulture and its babies in the tunnel. GREENS are almost all in good to great shape.
The ROUGH are nearly Torrey Pines long which is challenging. The CARTS have GPS. Rental clubs were Callaway Maverick. The 3-wood I could smoke. The driver was not my favorite. I am not a big mallet putter fan but Odyssey brand is pure platinum so it was pretty good for me.
The RESTROOMS near the started should be burned down and rebuilt. They do not match up with the rest of the quality of the course amenities. They are hammered and more indicative of a $37 per round public course.
The course layout varies and is pretty interesting. It is not flat, but is not majorly hilly either.
It's a pretty good golf course but it really is overpriced for what it is. I am not sure the reason. We would only be back for a better price and cooler weather.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Tsai L.South San Francisco, CA45045Sep 24, 2023
We go to this golf course for tournaments frequently. Among all the courses we visited, this is the one that is most disorganized. The restaurant doesn't open until 11am, the snack shop has no much to offer or ran out the only selling breakfast burritos by 9am. The restrooms inside the clubhouse and by the valley course, both are smelling, dirty and no toilet paper always. When you call for the food to pick up, no one pick up the phone or told you that the phone is inside the bar so they can't reach and will disregard. When you ask more Ice on a 90 degree hot day, the lady at bar said we need to charge $17 for a small bag of ice. This is ridiculous!!!!!!! They should invest on ice machines like others do in hot locations.
The most unbelievable thing is they charge $40 for golf cart!!!! They said they have 2 - 18 hole courses so they need to charge higher fee. We don't care. We only play one course. Why it's being charged for 2 courses.
The phone is full of 2 mins introduction before you can reach to certain department to book a tee or order food. I hope someone cares and make improvements there!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
