For starters, I'm not going to complain. I had a lot of fun with my friends on NYE! We booked our hotel room here for a party of 6 people. Two queen size beds and a pull out bed from our lovely couch. For our last minute reservations, we got pretty lucky! Originally, we had our pick at Hotel Pickwick. I saw the reviews for the place, I'm glad we canceled and used my friend's AAA discount along with his extra perks to book a room here instead.

This location was the easiest route to our NYE event we planned on attending. The hotel was closest to the venue along with other extra amenities! Within walking distance, we found a few good restaurants, bars, a convenience store, and tons of easy parking! When we had arrived upon check-in time, we thought we would lose our room, but we didn't! Woohoo! We left a little later than our expected time to get to SF, find parking and check into our room.

Upon finding our hotel, we easily found street parking nearby. There's a lot of street parking if you come at an early time. We lucked out when we found a spot less than a block away. However, if you can't find street parking, there's a parking lot or garage too. Otherwise, you'll end up paying the $45 fee to park your car at the hotel. Another option, you can ask front desk to call you a taxi cab but a lot of the time, there's always a cab waiting outside! Oh yes! I can't forget to add, if you're willing to walk at least a block or two, you can use BART. By far, you'll easily get to SFO, Mission District, Union Square, etc.

As for food options, there's a few good eats around. You can walk to the following locations: Osha Thai, Mehfil Indian Cuisine, Lulu's, Salt House, 21st Amendment, etc. Or you can easily pick up a sandwich at the convenience store located across the street or eat at the restaurants located downstairs or grab coffee at Starbucks inside the hotel.

If you're visiting from out of town, there's a lot of things to do in SF. Trust me, it's not hard to go weaving through the streets of SF if you know where you are. This hotel isn't too far from anything. Nearby Embarcadero, AT&T Park, Moscone Convention Center, Yerba Buena Performing Arts Center, etc.

FYI...if you feel like you're coming down with the flu, there's a Walgreens not too far away! Luckily, we didn't need to grab any Tylenol the day after partying!

Lastly, the staff are absolutely amazing! They're extremely helpful with you. Their lobby area isn't quite comparative to the Fairmont, but it's exceedingly nice and spacious. A lot of the people staying at the hotel were about our age range and Asians since the event my friends and I were attending was nearby. Of course, we had assumed they were going to the same place as us but they were just staying here because it was downright inexpensive but a better choice as opposed to Hotel Pickwick. If you plan to arrive early before check in, you can either wait until your room is available or leave your luggage with the front desk but you can also leave it with them after you have checked out of the hotel and come back to pick it up! How cool is that?!

We asked for extra towels, shampoo, soap and conditioner. They dropped off more than 8 towels with no questions asked! They offer free Wi-Fi in their hotel lobby or you can use the personal computer provided. Too bad they don't offer free Wi-Fi in the rooms and there's no refrigerator since we wanted to chill our liquor, but we were smart enough to grab a bucket of ice to keep our drinks chilled! We never got complaints when we kept partying until the wee hours of 4am with the music going on full blast!! None of the neighboring rooms were giving us any complaints since they must've been drunk, having a "good time" or they didn't hear any of the trouble we were causing! I should say, I felt bad after we saw the ruckus and trashed room when we had checked out of the hotel. We partied our butts off!

Large rooms, plush and comfy beds, clean and tidy bathroom, inexpensive price for accommodations and lots of good amenities to come along with it! Will I want to stay here again? Sure why not!

Place is ok at best. Decent staff. Decent room. DECENT. Nothing special to expect from this place. But it does make you feel clean, which is always a plus for me at a hotel. The location itself is pretty good if you like to hang out at night in SF.

All in all, a pleasant stay for a decent price.

If you are a Marriott rewards guy or gal and travel to San Francisco often this review is for you. I travel to SF at least once a month and have stayed at every Marriott property in the city and all the locations south (including San Mateo).

This location has 1) the fastest internet, 2) the best water pressure, 3) tasty food options and 4) ample taxis.

The internet speed is the fastest you'll find in the SF area. You will be able to watch YouTube/Hulu/SlingBox and play whatever online games you prefer... and check work email over the VPN (if that's your thing).

The water pressure isn't great, but I don't feel like I'm being spat on. Expect about 75% of the shampoo to be rinsed form your hair (as opposed to the 10% of other hotels).

The Indian restaurant across the street is pretty darn tasty. I opt for carry-out, but they will deliver to your room! Even easier, you can order online via their website!
    http://www.yelp.com/bi...

Finally, there seems to always be at least one taxi waiting outside ready to take you to your destination. The staff is helpful and the rooms are the stock "courtyard experience".

If you are in SF for vacation this might not be for you, but if you are just in town for work, this is the place to stay.

[I used to stay exclusively at the Marriott Marquis (where I landed my first 'gold' status), but the ridiculously slow internet finally pushed me to sample the other locations. The JW is nice, but I find the location on the hill out of the way and it's a bit dated.]

Crashed here because my friend's school picked this hotel. The beds are super comfy and everything is nice and clean. Best part it was free, so price was not a factor in this review. Good location as well

I enjoyed the hell out of my stay.  The bed was comfy, the hotel had nice amenities and was conveniently located.  I balked a bit at the price, but I think the location made it worth it.

Most likely my hotel of choice for any future trips to San Francisco

    I would stay here again.

Walking distance to pier 1, AT&T stadium and some bars. It's in the financial district so most of the close restaurants are only open for weekly lunch. The Starbucks inside is convenient and the staff was very helpful.

They will hold bags before and after your stay.

Parking was $45 for one night but that was comparable to Pier 39 prices.

We stayed here for our San Francisco trip. My first time and i couldn't be more excited. There were some positive aspects about the hotel, but mostly negative.
    Positive:
    .comfortable mattress
. nice views, decor and cleanliness
    . polite employees

    Negative:
. The food was my #1 problem. I was praying not to get sick, but there goes that plan. I got food poisoning from the chicken quesadilla. how pleasant.
. The hotel doesn't start having in-room food service until 5:00pm!! What is that?
. The photos on their website are totally deceiving
. None of the normal bathrooms essentials
. high prices!!! ($3.25 for a bottle of water!)(Not Fiji or Voss)
(Parking $45 a day for guests)
. This might of not been their fault but 10 channels of ESPN!! A little much.

. I am not really sure how this hotel is part of the Marriott corporation but I will not be staying here again.

Stayed here for work for 4 days last week. Loved the location, a couple blocks walking distance to the Moscone Convention Center so it was very convenient. I had a beautiful comfy (King bed) room on the 17th floor with city view which was spectacular. Never got noisy up there. It was pricey (but average for area) at $250 nightly but I was fine with that since it was on the company LOL.

Food was ok. Did not like the breakfast buffet at all but ate it daily since its fastest thing. Nothing exciting other than waffle and omelet station. Otherwise rest of buffet was normal (bacon, home fries etc) for about $17. Great coffee and orange juice!! They gave me daily to go cups of coffee so I left a happy camper to work :)

Loved the Room Service food the best! Was pretty fast and really LOOOVED the Goat cheese, arugula thin pizza (more of an appetizer) and their grilled cheese sandwich. Otherwise, wasn't at hotel for any other meals as the rest were at the venue or local bars.

Hotel bar was small but pretty busy. Had their happy hour Menage a Trois house Wine which was pretty tasty. 2 glasses for $18.

I would stay here again next year for the show. However, my ONLY gripe was that you can't get a taxi in front of the hotel to go downtown during rush hour (around 6pm) to save your life! We (among others) waited for 1/2 hour before we gave up and walked downtown. Its so busy going the opposite direction (entrance to the bay bridge is a block behind us) that no cabs go down our way.

This was my first time going to SF since I was 12, so I had nooo idea where to stay. I wanted to stay somewhere nice, in the middle of everything and close to transportation. We got that in the Courtyard Marriott!

We checked in somewhere around 11:30 pm, check in was swift and easy.

Our room was on the 3rd floor which was a bum out, but whatever, you don't stay in your room bu to sleep. The room was very very clean and a nice size. We had a king size bed and a nice little couch and coffee table and flat screen tv.

We never went into the bar but it was always packed and loud when we walked by.

Some people mentioned it being a dicey area, I did not find this to be so and I am scared of EVERYTHING. We asked the front desk where we could grab a bite to eat and walked the streets at midnight-2am and never once had a bad experience/felt uneasy.

Its just a few short blocks from the BART and MUNI station which made getting around SF and back to the airport a breeze. The Embacardo and trolleys are just a few blocks north on Market street, tons of street vendors and places to eat.

We would stay here again, no questions asked!

We stayed here over the past weekend with the whole family taking up four rooms (two sets adjoining).  I could not be more pleased with our stay.  The valet service was so friendly and helpful.  They were also speedy!

Possibly the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in.

There was a minor problem with rooms possibly not being ready until after 6pm due to carpet cleaning.  They quickly, and courteously remedied the situation before we even left swimming from the pool.

We ordered room service in the evening, all of which came fast, hot, and tasted great.  Breakfast at the buffet was easy and delicious, which is saying something for a crew of 7 adults and 6 small children.

They offer plug-in internet, but not WiFi.

I very highly suggest you stay here.

I still can't believe I came to San Francisco and failed to put any balls or weiners in my mouth...yknow, like takoyaki or hot dogs of course.....shame on me.

ANYWHO...I had 48 hours to stuff myself silly and in the process keep the wife and kids semi entertained.

Checked in...not so bright but pretty damn early around 1:45am on Sunday morning...valet was $43 which was well worth it for the peace of mind and convenience.  Besides, we got a sweet deal on a room for the 4 of us on labor day weekend for only about $100 per night!? nice.

2 clean, comfortable queen size beds, a crib for my son, flat screen tv, clean bathrooms, free internet, liquor store across the street, a warm place and comfy chair to drink my cold beer after a long day of eating... http://www.yelp.com/bi... ...what more do you need?

A special thanks to Ciara G for the Marriott tip!

Now, the ever important question.... where can a dude get some bacon in this town?!?

Given it's shadier than 5 star location, this corporate sibling of the Marriott deserves a solid 4 star rating.   You are getting a little more for your money by staying here because the entire building is brand new.  The mattresses are still firm and bouncy, the carpets free of stains and the pool area, along with the lobby, sterilized in cleanliness.

It's safe enough to walk around in the day and you should with union square just a few blocks away.   But at night, I do not recommend it unless you are with a group.  Do not walk alone and please park wisely.  My winshield was broken for a bag of nordstrom clothes worth less than the winsheild :-(

To make a long story short, I had booked one room here for the weekend earlier - then I had to add another just days before.  The rates, unfortunately, had changed for a two queen versus king room, and I wasn't feeling like paying another $50 to add the extra night for the two-queens (call it living like a college student if you will).  So instead of making my life easier and "updating" my existing reservation, I booked the second one.  Yeah, I know.  What's $50 when you're already flying part way down the coast for the weekend?

We get to the hotel and I ask the front desk agent if it's possible for us to change rooms the next day instead of checking out and checking back in to the new room.  The guy - I can't remember his name - instead just gave us the lower rate on the two-queen room so we were able to stay in the same room all weekend.  It was so much more convenient and really a nice gesture - very much appreciated after having worked all week, gotten on a flight, finding my way into the city, and just wanting to get settled in.  So THANK YOU to the guy who processed my check-in that Friday evening.

The room was spacious and clean.  Aside from hearing a few people shuffling down the hall if I was near the door, it was a quiet and uneventful stay.  The beds came with more than enough pillows (love it) and we also had extra sitting space around the room, in addition to plenty of space for luggage to be tossed around.  If you have the "right" room, you can even see the Bay Bridge and some water from your window.  Our view was not as nice, but we spent the weekend out and about, so it really didn't matter much to us.  My only complaint was the temperature in the room.  Unlike most hotels I've been in, this one didn't have the room thermostat to sub-zero.  In fact, it was just a little too hot during the day when I woke up and it was 70+ degrees outside.  And yes, I know I can change the temp - that is what I did, but I was surprised that it wasn't set to "auto chill".

The location was also awesome.  Being someone who had no idea where to stay and just looking for a decent rate, the pricing on this place is what convinced me to book here.  After I got here and started wandering around with friends, I discovered how much I loved the location.  If you're willing to walk, the BART is nearby (which now goes straight to SFO), downtown shopping, the Embarcadero, and it isn't *too* far from the Mission (I'd say about 2 miles - which really wasn't that long of a walk even at 2 am).

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for a business trip, and it's pretty much what you'd expect from a Courtyard... clean, no frills, with decent amenities and a reasonable price tag.

The best thing about this hotel is the location - it's smack dab in the middle of downtown and a close distance to most tourist attractions, although the walk to BART is about 6 blocks.  We were there during Game 1 & 2 of the world series, and the area was hopping - one evening my friends even met a couple of Giants in the hotel bar... how cool is that?  Also, the size of the room was good, the view of downtown was great, and the internet is free.

Some negatives are the sheets (scratchy), towels (tiny and rough), parking (almost $50 a day!), and restaurants (expensive).  There is room service during the day, but not for breakfast, which is when I was hoping to order it.  The restaurant (Jasmine) is very pricey for breakfast, so I usually found myself at the Starbucks, located in the lobby, which is lame in a city of great food choices.

Overall, it was just ok.  I have stayed at pretty awesome Courtyards, but this one was a little disappointing.

The Ewing/McHugh wedding on 5/29 brought a lot of business to this hotel over the holiday weekend with almost all out of town guest stay at least 2 nights here.  They gave the couple the hospitality suite which was fantastic for all the out of town guests - friends and family to hang out and get to know each other.
The night of the wedding after the ceremony and reception (hornblower dinner cruise) we all went to the suite and not even an hour and half after the wedding was over hotel security came with two cops to kick us all out.  Were we really that loud?  I doubt it.  Point is why weigh the complient of one or two guests when this party consisted of at least 20+ paying guests.  I just don't think this is how you should treat paying customers - even the police officers agreed and told the hotel security that they handled the situation badly.
Needless to say we had one angry bride on our hands - thanks for that!
It's ok though - we took our party down stairs to the lobby and courtyard.  Secuirty didn't even dare to bother us again.

Courtyard by Marriott, I hate how you are great when located in a major city but are kind of dumpy when in the outskirts of a city.  This leaves me scared to book with you.  However, do not be afraid of this Courtyard, as it is one of the great ones.  On the weekends, it is a steal.

Atmosphere - Clean, modern,18 stories, updated, tan, mint, oak.

    Pros:
    * Brisk 15 min walk to most site seeing locations
    * Walk to Market and Powell to take Trolley to the Warf
    * Rooms nicely priced at $99 Fri - Sun
    * Foam beds
    * Free Wi-Fi in lobby
    * Cheap $10  (some nights $11 and I was told lower) parking behind hotel, under the overpass, (probably pricier on game nights)
    * Near a few good restaurants
    * True HD signal on the HD set!
    * Helpful front desk
    * Close to Giant's stadium

    Cons:
    * Brisk 15 min walk to most site seeing locations
    * Parking in back could be sketchy...but hey, it is a rental!
    * Free Wi-Fi in lobby.  I thought SF was a technology holy land.  Where is the Wi-Fi in my room?

Overall - I will definitely stay here again on a future trip to SF.  Unless of course I make more money and can afford something closer...but by no means is staying here slumming.

We loved this hotel!  Perfect for our stay with an infant as there was a door separating the bedroom from living room.  We were able to request a microwave and refrigerator for baby food prep.  The staff was so friendly and helpful.  Liked being a few blocks from the craziness of market street as it was a quieter area.  Plenty of restaurants, etc nearby including whole foods and Walgreens.

I absolutely LOVE this hotel!! It was a little difficult to find at first, but we found it the second time we drove down the street. The bf thought the price was a bit hefty ($115 per night), but I don't think I could've picked a better hotel under last minute circumstances!

The hotel was CLEAN, the staff was SO NICE, and the stay was beyond my expectations. The bed was SO comfortable- it was definitely the best two nights of sleep I've had in a long time. Free internet (ethernet cord comes with the room), but you have to reconnect at the beginning of each day. Awesome HDTV- thoroughly enjoyed watching a couple of hours of TV before heading out for the night.

Definitely check out the bar downstairs called Whispers- I highly recommend the San Francisco Iced Tea. It's absolutely delicious!! We didn't try the breakfast buffet.

The hotel is also conveniently located within walking distance from Union Square. There's a small liquor store directly across the street. Two clubs and numerous bars located right around the corner one block away, and many restaurants to choose from all the way down the street (Thai food, Quizno's, AND Subway!)

The only downside is that the hotel only offers valet parking at $43 a night, with access to your car any time (the valets are REALLY nice and honest with you). You can park anywhere else at your own risk- we parked in the parking lot right behind the hotel ($30 for Thursday night to Sunday morning), and our rental was broken into. We probably should've parked in the lot one block over. I'm already planning a future trip to SF, and I already know where I'm going to stay!

Alright STOP!  Collaborate and LISTEN!  Laura's back and this HOTEL WAS BITCHIN!

I loved our stay here so much that I wanna rap about it, Yo!

I wanna give it 5 stars.  But bottom line is, it's not a "five star" hotel so I just can't do that.

But I was really SO fackin' impressed with this hotel.  For $79 a night, I felt like a bandit leaving here with a bill under $100.

If you are looking around this area for somewhere to stay STOP LOOKING AND JUST STAY HERE.

-All kinds of walkable bars/restaurants/transportation from Hotel.
-A beautiful view of the bay bridge from our room.  Romantical!
    -Super clean room.  Big.
    -Very comforatable bed.
    -Quiet.
    -Nice lobby with a restaurant.
-A liquor store right across the street!
-Parking available for $40ish a night.  BUT
-Go down the alley next to the hotel and you can get overnight parking for $10.

Not having a fridge in the room was a minor detail compared to all the goodness this marriott offers for the price.  Can you believe that's the ONLY negative comment I have to say about this hotel?  Yep.

    STAY HERE.

I had the pleasure of staying here twice on 2 different occasions.  the first time with my husband on our anniversary.. and just last year with my best girlfriends for my birthday.

I love to just roam around.. soak everything in.. especially the San Francisco culture.  so when my husband or my best friends think of what and where I'd like to be.. San Fran usually comes to mind.

the hotel is hard to miss and parking is easy..  you pull up to the driveway and an attendant is there to assist u.

the lobby reception area is spacious and airy, but kinda dark?  which is really weird because their are a lot of windows looking out onto 2nd street...

it took only a short time to check in both times.. [both times I was not the one checking in..]. but did have the luxury of sitting in the comfy chairs that were provided in the lobby.

it's an easy maneuver to the elevators..
    and into your room!

the first time we stayed [a few years back] we had a suite and a beautiful view of market st and the buildings. [it totally weirds me out when your view is a view of other buildings and it seems like your staring into their windows... and vice versa] that was the case with our view.. beautiful as it was... [but of course they can't see in.. that would just be fuk'd up.]

    anyway,
the room was huge.. clean, and beautiful. the bathroom was also big, with a nice little vanity area.  you can literally bring a chair into the bathroom and sit to use the mirror.  the furniture was modern and arranged tastefully. I loved it and enjoyed my stay completely.

staff was friendly and the valet attendants very helpful when it came to directions or recommendations.  another plus:  cpk and starbucks across the street!

the second time was last year for my 29th birthday.  the girls wanted to
find something central to all the action.. and the courtyard was perfect.  check in this time around was just as easy.. the employees just as friendly and courteous.

our room was a typical sized room with two queen beds and lots of chill space.  the bathroom though was very small... but did suffice 4 girls getting ready at the same time.. [or maybe it's just we've just learned to be good at maneuvering around each other cause we've been doing it for so long! i love them.]

either way, the room was very
    comfortable for four grown women.
I'm not always comfortable in hotel rooms, but this particular hotel was very comfortable.. I had no problems with out stay this time around either!

included are the usual amenities.. coffee pot, desk, tv..  they also have ihomes in the rooms!

[side note] we went out for a night of dancing, and came back to a great surprise!  there was a loungy situation at the bar downstairs so we walked around and realized we were kinda sore thumbs.  no one made us feel that way... but we just felt it wasn't our scene.. so we went to enjoy our hotel room instead!

Great Hotel if you are living in SOMA. It gets kinda dead on the weekends when the business district closes. Stayed on the 18th floor and had some good views of the Bay bridge.

I'm so glad I was only here for one night. Flew in for work - I had to wake up Thursday morning at 3:30am to make my flight. By the time I arrived at the hotel at around 5:30pm, I was ready to fall into bed and die.

Check in was smooth enough. They had me up to my room in no time at all, but when I got to my room, the problems started. There was a weird odor in my first room. At first I tried to ignore it, but when I lay down in bed it got worse and finally it got to a point where I couldn't take it anymore and I went in search of the odor's source. It turned out to be a wet spot (ewwwwww!!!!) on the carpet. Poor tired me called the front desk and requested another room.

They were nice enough about it, but in my exhausted state I was kind of annoyed that they didn't offer to bring up the new room keys. So the second room was on the same floor - no smell, or at least less smell than the first. I go to turn on the TV and nothing. I try again, and again, and still nothing.

I call the front desk and this time I tell them that they need to bring up new keys for yet another new room. I press the power button one more time while I'm on the phone with them, and presto! The TV freaking turns on....

So I finally have a smell free room and a functioning TV and I'm ready for room service. The lady who took my order over the phone was so sweet. She could tell how tired I was, and made me smile, which was much needed by that point. My food arrived about a half hour later.

I ordered a steak and they did remember the Horseradish on the side that I requested, but the food just wasn't that good. The steak was not good quality and of course, it was overdone. Oh well.

This Courtyard earns two stars for its service - and one more for a bed that I fell asleep in at 7pm and stayed asleep for a full 12 hours. If I go back to San Francisco they're putting me up somewhere much less smelly dammit!

Nice rooms and really good location.

We came through from Thomson M's birthday this past weekend.

Check-In was super smooth, we got there around 10am and the staff was more than happy to get us a room.

The room was on the 15th floor. It was spacious, with 2 queen beds and a one-seater. The only downfall was that the room didn't come with a refrigerator. Also, they offer free internet to their guests but the rooms don't have wi-fi, the connection is through an ethernet cable, which is usually found in a bag in the closet.

The fitness center was nice. It had a few treadmills, elipticals and other workout machines. Each cardio machine had a TV, I was able to watch the Lakers beat the Rockets in Game 2 of the 2004 Playoffs on ESPN Classic. The pool and jacuzzi was nice and clean too.

The concierge wasn't very helpful. He was only versed with the area around the hotel. In past experiences, I've seeked the help of the concierge to guide me to the cities hidden gems, that wasn't the case this time around.

Other than that, they only offer valet parking and it was about $40/day, which is comparable to other overnight lots in the city that are safe.

    Tips:
-Closest BART Station is Montgomery, not Powell
-The beds come with 4 pillows. The SMALL 2 are for resting your head and the BIG 2 are for decoration. That mistake cost me a good nights sleep.

Me and a friend are from San Jose and were planning on attending two Giants games back to back with a bobblehead day so we decided it would be smart for us to get a hotel room. This one was close, only about a half mile away, and reasonably priced for a hotel in SF. It was $43 for parking overnight. We thought we would have to move our car before we checked out but they told us we could keep our car here until the game was over. So instead of paying $30 for each game we only ended up paying $43 total. No complaints there.

The pool area seemed incredibly small for such a large hotel but maybe they have more than one and I just wasn't aware of it. It didn't really matter to us. We just wanted the hot tub.The gym area was small as well but had state of the arc equipment with televisions built-in.

We were upgraded for free and ended up on the 17th floor with a beautiful view of the city.

I was happy with the stay in general and would stay here again. I wish they offered ear plugs so those of us who end up sleeping in the same room as snorers don't end up sleeping in the bath tub.

I stayed here with the special lady on New Year's Eve.

    Pros:
Solid location - we flew into SFO and didn't even need a car, and neither of us are fans of long distance walking
Nice room - Our room looked right at the bay bridge, bed was comfortable, nice bathroom, floor is comfortable too... I apparently was a little drunk and got lost in the room in the middle of the night and wound up sleeping on the floor.

    Mehs:
    Price was fair
TV was decent, but  it an odd location

    Cons:
    No free breakfast
    Mighty thin walls

It's a cookie-cutter hotel, not anything with a San Francisco vibe, but then again you really don't need to spend a whole lot of time in your room when in SF.  If you are looking for a comfortable place to crash, they are quite adequate.

If I'm going to stay overnight in San Francisco, this is where I want to be. Decent strategic location and great value.

Never thought I could get a king-size bed, a living room with a flat screen and a bar, and a view for 120 bucks. (off-season price I'm assuming) I'll go here any time.

2nd and Folsom isn't Union Square, but it's convenient. It's walking distance from Mongomery Bart station, the N, and Cal Train. You can also walk to the ballpark from here. Not like I really want to hang out in Soma that bad, but there are some great restaurants and cool bars around.

Totally reasonable weekend-in-the-city hotel. The restaurant here is not good at all, so don't bother. If you're large vertically, like myself, it's nice to be able to get a king bed in a cool spot for such a good price.

I wish for San Francisco to be a smaller city with this hotel right in the heart of the busy-ness.  I absolutely loved this hotel.  It's quite beautiful but is located downtown.  Although it's not too far from the shopping streets on Market (about 0.4mi), it is far away from the main attractions of San Fran, such as China Town, Fisherman's Wharf, etc.

We basically took a cab to the closest place we can start to feel the tourism vibe and started walking from there.  The hotel was definitely worth staying at, despite the location.

We got the standard guest room with one king bed and sofa bed with a wonderful view of 2nd street and all that's behind it.  The staff was nice and the concierge was extremely helpful (he even hooked it up for a cheap limo ride to a night in the town!).

Stayed here for three nights.  It is a good location downtown with easy access to I-80/Bay Bridge, nice lobby and good sized room with a sleeper sofa, mini-fridge and coffee maker.  Free internet for Marriott Elite members, not sure of the charge for non-elite.  On site valet parking is about $46/day.

Two things prevent a 4 star rating though 1) lack of safe in the room, which is really a requirement for even a 3 star hotel today, and 2) the pillows were of the *awful* $5 K-mart blue light special variety.

Also, the air conditioner didn't really keep the room as cool as it should and the room is large enough that it should have more than one register.  It was a hot weekend and the temperature control could be part of an energy saving plan, so not deducting for this since the room wasn't uncomfortably hot.

Great price for a great room! We booked last minute, and got a great room!

Front desk people were nice and helpful, and the room was clean. They also have a bar/restaurant and a Starbucks attached to hotel as well.

Although it's a little far from main attractions, the Muni (SF bus system) offers a 3 day bus pass for 18 bucks and it's for unlimited rides on the bus and trolly.

I LOVED this place.  My girlfriends and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon.  The small woman behind the check-in counter couldn't have been nicer.  As I was handing her my credit card and ID, one of my friends shrieked and pointed at my hand.  It was bleeding, pretty badly.  Great.  The small woman says, "how many keys would you like?"  She surveys my friends and says, "six?"  We let her know 4 probably was enough.  A few seconds later a band aid surfaced on the counter.  :) Nice, observant AND efficient. Sweet.

The rooms were awesome.  All my friends kept commenting on how comfortable the beds were.

The bellhop dropped what he was doing and got us two cabs instantly.

We were really loud, we just are.  My friends kept flashing the guy across the street with a telescope, we made a total mess of the rooms and we stumbled in at 3:00 a.m.   We never got a "shush" or weird looks, they were just fantastic.   I'll be back.

For the price of this place, you cannot go wrong by staying here! We booked the Courtyard for $99/night and what a steal it was! They have free wireless and wired Internet and a couple kiosks in the lobby to print your boarding passes before heading to the airport.

The rooms were really nice and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. While the courtyard is a few blocks further from everything than the Marriott San Fran, it's worth saving a few bucks to stay here. The only con I had, was there is no safe in the room, but this seems like a Courtyard standard though.

Having the Starbucks right in the lobby was also very convenient for having breakfast in the mornings!

I must say we were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations here. This place looks like it's been renovated in and out. Our rate included parking which we found to be convenient. You may find a line when you drive up as the car drop off section and entrance are tight. But the valet guys are cool and moved as quickly as they could. Once inside I was surprised to see how nice this Courtyard was. Too bad the reception guy was a total cunt. I didn't let that bother since he was only a reception guy.

Our room was nicely updated. Flat screen TV, big comfy beds, huge windows and a very spacious long room. Soon I realized I left something in my car so I went downstairs and that cunty guy told me I couldn't go into the garage to retrieve my belongings.  He told me only valet drivers are allowed there. I walked off and asked the valet guy and he took me to my car no questions asked.

I noticed a bar and or restaurant in the hotel but we didn't go there. Across the street is a liquor store but be prepared to pay a lot more than what you're used to paying for for liquor. We walked in and out of the hotel with no problems. Lots of people coming in and out but we felt safe.

I would definitely check this place out if you're looking for a good price and a nice place to stay in the SOMA area in the City.

We stayed here during Labor Day weekend.  The hotel is conveniently located near the subway which made getting around the city easier.  We were able to check-in early and staff was nice enough to transfer me to higher floor where I have the view of the SF bridge.  There's a starbucks inside the hotel for those who are loyal fans of the coffee chain.   That's me!  LOL.  Our room was decent size, king size bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean although we didn't like the toiletries provided, I think they could do better.  Also, I was wondering why there was no fridge inside our room? Or if that is now standard in every room.  It would be useful to have one since people including myself sometimes bring/buy their own beverages from outside and store them in the fridge.   Which brings me to my point when we had leftovers to take home we had no choice but to leave them outside.  Luckily they were still good the next day.  We requested a microwave and plates and the staff promptly brought them to our room.  Fitness center had basic gym equipment,  we managed to squeeze in a workout.  They also have a pool, mostly kids staying at the hotel used it and enjoyed, so that was a nice amenity.  It was a pleasant stay overall, check-out process was smooth.  They even stored our bags after check out for a few hours while we explore the city before we leave for the airport.  I would consider staying here again in the future.

I stayed here during DrupalCon.  My boss, a coworker and I all crammed into a room.  Thankfully we were able to get a cot (this is when the volcano had a bunch of Europeans stranded).  The room was spacious enough for us to fit a cot and the two beds and not feel cramped.  All in all the hotel seemed pretty nice.

They do have wifi, it's not the greatest though, so we used a signal booster.

The location is pretty darn good.  You're literally within a mile of everything you'd want to go to.
