What the hey-hey how did Dee get the special service? Maybe because it was 2007. Things have changed a bit. Here is how my stay went down.

I was the only person checking in around 5:30 so it was speedy. No goodie bag and I had to pay for a bottle of water, crackers, and a banana. Nothing complimentary at the front desk. They do have a handy little snack bar area with snacks, water, soda, candy etc and they will scan whatever you need and add it to your room bill.

Staff recommended Village Tavern (a short drive) or Putters restaurant across the street (which I chose and the food was super tasty - no discount). The room is average size and comfortable. HBO guide on the coffee table but no HBO - although Showtime was working.

The exercise room is open 6 AM to 11 PM (not 24-7 as it was back in '07) and same equipment mentioned in Dee's review. The pool is outside and was closed when I visited. The spa which is inside the fitness room was also closed.

The wireless Internet service is free and worked fine for me and some other folks from work who were staying here as well. I amusing it now and I am good to go.

It's basic and it offers some nice amenities for a small hotel. I would give it a 2.5 but Yelp makes me round.  You get what you pay for so I will round up on this one doesn't seem fair to give them 2 stars.

Overall, I had a really good experience here - when we checked in, it was such a speedy process AND they gave us a goodie bag with a bottle of water, cookies, crackers, candy, and gum.  They had complimentary mints, fresh fruits, and freshly baked cookies up front, too, and by the elevator.  Prices were pretty decent, staff was extra friendly and gave us great directions when they recommended the Village Tavern for us to try for dinner (plus if you show them your room key at VT, you get 10% discount).  The rooms were spacious and comfortable - all the basics you needed were there and the beds were comfortable.  The exercise room is open 24-7 which is helpful, they only have three treadmills, one stair stepper, bike, and a set of free weights.  The pool was closed when I visited.

My only and sole complaint is the Internet - it was CRAWLING when we were there and I could barely get any work done since it was so slow, so minus one star for that.
