This is the only Marriott I think I have ever stayed at that had an elliptical machine in the gym. I am fine with the steppers and treadmills but sometimes you just want an elliptical! So thank you Waterbury Marriott! The breakfast included a lot of fresh fruit which was delicious. Also, instead of charging us for using the buffet, we were only charged for what we ate! That was surprising! Not that I really cared since I was there on business but it is nice to not be overcharged. Also, the staff was ultra nice. I had wanted to reserve a room with a jacuzzi but then they were out of them when I got there so they discounted my room rate. Another instance of not being overcharged! I was so tired when I got dinner and they kept the coffee coming which was much appreciated. I would definitely return to this Marriott!
In my opinion a 3 star rating is high for a franchised high rise hotel and that's what I give them. I have attended many business gatherings there (chamber, leads groups, Healthcare council, etc) and always they have pulled it nicely. 90% of the time the food is above my expectations, most of the time they serve a good quantity and the staff seems up to the challenge of serving large amounts of people. The hotel, once in a while puts together a party to thank their business customers. The last party I attended was imaginative (around Christmas they filled a ballroom with sand and made a big beach party with BBQ an all).
A month ago a friend of mine got married and all her out of town family stayed at the Courtyard so I spent a few hours there. The rooms are clean and the staff was very attentive.
