5 reviews for Courtyard by Marriott
Rooms:
Clean, large rooms, very comfy beds and pillows, fantastic showers!!!!
Service:
Problematic. Front desk people were nice, but they couldn't find the reservation I made through Expedia. First they said they couldn't find it by our name, then they couldn't find it by our credit card number, then they asked us to look it up on the one computer provided in the "business center," but it was occupied. So they did something else on their computer, I don't know what, and finally printed out my Expedia reservation and asked me if that was my name. Hello? I just spelled my name out for you 2 minutes ago.
Even though we got the breakfast package, and wrote on the bill that breakfast was included with our payment, we were still charged for it. When we brought this up the woman was like oh well you weren't on my list. Have you heard of customer service? You know our room number, plus you JUST saw us again the next day coming in for breakfast at which there are barely any people and you didn't come ask us about it? Really? You thought we just made it up or something?
Food:
Breakfast buffet is yummy. You can have bagels, oatmeal, pastries, waffles, scrambled eggs (with spinach), hash browns, and I think I saw an Asian dish cuz there was soy sauce at the far end. Lots of juice, yogurt and toppings.
NOTE: There is no restaurant in this hotel, only a breakfast buffet in the mornings. There are a couple places walking distance, but that's it.
Needs update.
I spent a lot of quality time here when working down the road.
I went from Marriott noob to Marriott's zOMG suparrr elite winnar member level in eight weeks based on staying here alone.
What do you get when you are a VIP all-star at Marriott, you ask? A free beer and a packet of crackers. That is the "platinum gift" that you get at most Marriotts.
Actually in the expensive ones, there is the Super Corporate Whore floor of the high rise hotel where you can have a free breakfast with the other SuperWhores. Free eggs and coffee? I'm living the American Dream for sure.
Anyway. This place was way cleaner than most, my rental car was only screwed with occasionally by criminals, and many of the people staffing the place spoke some of the english language. Not bad! Someone was always trying to get sluts drunk in the hot tub and bang them when I was trying to get in the zone in the exercise room. Pay for a hot tub suite somewhere, you cheap bastard! You're distracting me from my zen trance that I enjoy while running!
Stayed here a few times, it's my first choice if I want to be between LA and OC.
Conviently off the freeway, free outdoor parking.
Rooms are your standard Courtyard newly remodeled look.
Never had a bad experience here. Friendly staff, even if I did check in at 3AM!
This isn't the best Courtyard by Marriot I've stayed at. It is what you would expect from a brand that wants to make you feel comfortable in what to expect. But the general feeling of this location was that it was a little more crowded than I expected, and the area not as nice as I had thought it would be. So it wouldn't be my first choice (given the rate I paid) for this general area of LA. Not being too far from a variety of food choices is a plus, though!
