The hotel is ideally situated in downtown Stamford and is within walking distance of many of restaurants, bars, a movie theater and stores. There are over 100 places to eat listed in the hotel guide in the room.

It is also ideally situated to get to from the Amtrak station, only a $10 cab ride.

The hotel is kept in great condition. There is an indoor pool and a fitness center on the lower level and it is connected to Napa & Co. an organic food, fine dining restaurant at the lobby level. There is also a bar in lobby with a comfortable seating area where you can watch passersby on the sidewalk outside.

The rooms are nice and clean. Everything looks and works as it should. This is my second stay here and I would gladly stay here again on my next visit.

If I'd been staying here longer, I would have been able to explore quite a bit of Stamford with this as my base camp, but we were here for a wedding and then had to get back to NYC.  It was a really lovely hotel.  The rooms were nice and clean, the beds comfy, the staff nice and helpful.  They offered a great group rate for my friend's wedding.  What more could you want?

A nice chain hotel in a up and coming part of town.
Beware of the park across the street late night,it doesn't appear to dangerous just a little scarey late night. Take the $5 cab ride at night from downtown. During the day it's a perfect location to everything Stamford.

Fantastic!  The room was nicely decorated and clean.  Also, it included a great patio!  Really nice for summer.  The lobby is beautiful and the business center computers very convenient.  Service was excellent.  Very centrally located.  I would highly recommend staying here.

I am so, so impressed with the changes to Stamford in the past couple of years... including the Courtyard by Marriot!

I've stayed here quite a few times over the past year and a half. It's in a great location, within walking distance to many nice restaraunts and bars. There's a Target right across the street which is convenient, too! The hotel is decorated very nicely, very comfortable, and clean! It's always nice staying in a hotel that is brand new :) Much more modern and nice than the Courtyard in Norwalk (although that one does have a pool, which is a perk).

Parking is a little expensive, but it's Fairfield County. To be expected! The other hotel I'd recommend in the area is the Hyatt in Greenwich, but for people who want to be out and about without a car, the Courtyard is perfect!

** $209 a night (my company rate)
** Exceptionally clean
** Caters to the hip business traveler (ambient music in the lobby and candles)
** Great maid service with integrity (I left a cash tip and they didn't touch it!)
** Fantastic free shuttle service within Stamford -They have a red mini for small groups! Osama, the driver, was so friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the area
** Walking distance to 70 restaurants of all kinds
** UCONN, Burlington Coat Factory and Target within 1 block (NICE!!)
** Starbucks 1 block away

The only bad thing about this hotel is the restaurant (see my review of Napa & Co).

Order room service from Zinc accross the street! It was EXCELLENT (see my review for Zinc Bar & Grill).

My boyfriend's family stayed here last summer and they loved it! I had the opportunity to explore it a bit with them, and was very pleased. The employees are helpful, everything is clean and new, it's in an amazing location, and many rooms have nice views of the Stamford downtown area.

This hotel is located right in the heart of the Stamford downtown. It's within walking distance of 3 movie theaters (The Avon, Majestic, and Landmark), 2 theaters with live performances nearly every night, many restaurants and bars, and the mall. The hotel has a shuttle that can take you to the train station, which is very nice. Parking isn't free, but it's nice that they have a valet service.

If I was going to be a tourist in my own city, this is the hotel I'd want to stay at!

Solid hotel with great service and very convenient location for traveling to the New York City area. They are less than a mile from the Stamford train station (about 1 hr. from Grand Central) and they even provide free shuttle service to and from the station from 6am to 10:30pm.

Staying here for ~$125/night beats spending $500/night in NYC proper.

Okay, now I've actually stayed at both Marriotts, and I think that secretly, this one, which just caters to business travellers specifically, might actually be nicer. First, you get free internet. Handy. Second, the rooms are laid out in a more useful fashion, with larger bathrooms and more places to store clothes. There are fewer in-hotel restaurants - it seemed like there were half a dozen at the other Mariott - but you're in the middle of what they call "downtown" Stamford, and surrounded by a much greater variety of food options. Also, Target is just next door. Woo! Discount 64 oz bottles of detergent for everyone!

Really, there are only two disadvantages - that the free shampoos are slightly less luxurious (but still decadent indeed, never fear), and the hotel is decorated in a slightly ugly blue-and-gold scheme - I mean the carpets and the bedspread made me look a bit askance. Tsk, tsk.

Both Marriotts are an easy walking distance from the train station.

It's downtown, within walking distance of many restaurants, and the wi-fi is easy to use (and it's free). They have nice tea and coffee down in the lobby every morning, followed by freshly baked cookies when you get back from work. The A/C is quiet and you get a choice of feather or feather-alternative pillows.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and recommend it highly if you need to stay in Stamford.
