6 reviews for Courtyard by Marriott
Great, quiet hotel, right by the freeway and close to a best buy shopping plaza which is down the street. Travel north on the 5 and an exit away is the Irvine Spectrum. Travel south and at the next exit is a mall, BJ's, and even more shops and restaurants. Across the freeway is a descent bar, I don't remember the exact name of the spot but it had the likes of "cream" in the name. Definitely a lot to do out in this area and the hotel is in the middle of everything. I recommend heading west on the 133 to hit up Laguna Beach, a good 20-30 minute cruise away.
Other than that the room was clean, staff were friendly, but the gym was on the smaller side.
I love this hotel. Quite convenient to most everything in south Orange County.
The staff is always very friendly, with a few of the staff serving at this property for over 10 years that I've stayed there.
The rooms are very clean and well appointed. It's a standard Courtyard layout, and it's smoke-free, which, thankfully is Marriott policy across the board at all properties nowadays.
They've recently added complimentary wireless Internet, which convinced me to finally rid myself of my wireless card.
The hotel does cater to business clientele which makes it nice and quiet on weeknights. It seems to cater to large wedding parties on the weekends in the Spring and Summer, which I don't much care for because there is always a bit more noise due to this fact. Where are all these people getting married at around here? I've never really been able to figure that out.
The only time I really ever had any trouble was on a weekend when some young scumbags decided to check in to the room next to me and have a party, smoke and cause a ruckus. One phone call to the front desk earned these dummies a quick warning from the hotel staff and they told me to call back if there were any other issues. When the punks didn't heed the warning of the staff, I called back and this group was quickly evicted from the hotel. I'm a Marriott Platinum member, so I'm not naive enough to believe this doesn't happen at most hotels on the weekends. I'm just happy with the action the staff took. Very responsive to my needs.
Despite the location adjacent to the freeway, there really isn't any noise.
I've always enjoyed this property and will continue to stay there when in the area and in need of accomodations.
Again, Marriott didn't disappoint. The staff was super friendly and accommodatingly. I get somewhat picky when it comes to hotel rooms, they actually went along with me and made changes for me until I was happy.
Don't get fooled by the location - eventhough it's by the freeway, the rooms are actually quiet.
It's only 10 minutes drive to the beach and great restaurants on Coast Highway.
This is my idea of an excellent hotel. No frills, but everything you need for a comfortable stay. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. Smoke-free. Geared towards the business professional, which is exactly where I am most comfortable. I would definitely stay here again, without a doubt.
I stayed here for one of my good friends weddings, and this place didn't seem shell shocked by us one bit.
Which is good.
For us.
Break the front-desk's wine opener with the cork? No problem
Need a 4th room key at 230 in the morning? Sure thing.
Where can we get a broomstick, a box of condoms and a sheep, and can we take it back to the room? Well we didn't ask, but I'm sure I know what the answer would be!

We stayed here using Marriott points, no fuss hotel, it's after all a Courtyard. Clean facility, not so busy, seems like a corporate type hotel for businesses in the area. Close to the 5 freeway and shopping malls and 15 mins from Laguna Beach. Unfortunately breakfast was not comped but nevertheless we rather eat at Laguna beach than at the hotel.
