WOW!  For a Marriott Courtyard, this one is by far the nicest one I've stayed at.  We got an awesome $79/night last-minute day-of rate and were fully ready to experience just average Courtyard-ness.

The lobby has been recently remodeled with a clean, modern, colorful NY loft-like feel.  The pool is really nice with modern dark brown wicker lounge furniture.  It even has a fire pit & conversation area.

Rooms were Courtyard quality & nice enough.  Free parking and free wi-fi, has laundry facilities which we needed after driving 3,655 from Boston to SoCal.  Overall, a great property for this category.  You could pay double to stay at a regular Marriott up the street, and have to pay extra for parking & WiFi.  This was perfectly adequate if you're not looking for a full-service hotel.

Last weekend, my family and I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott since we had a group discount rate with my sister's softball team for their tournament. Walking in the lobby, I thought it was pretty nice since it looked newly remodeled- very modern looking. However, the rooms were a completely different situation. The rooms were very old looking/feeling and our bathroom floor was flooded when we first entered the room. Luckily, we had our room switched right away.

With this hotel, there were some ups and some downs, so I'm going to go with three stars.

The ups:
- Free wifi/ethernet internet in the rooms. (also, free usage of computers w/internet in the lobby)
- Free coffee *24 hours* in the lobby
- Refrigerator in all rooms (this is becoming less and less available in hotels nowadays)

The downs:
- Only the lobby seems to be remodeled. There is a drastic difference between the lobby and rooms area.
- Bed sheets were very itchy

Overall, okay hotel. I personally wouldn't choose to stay here. There's a all-suite marriott hotel about a mile away which I stayed at last time which I loved... Much rather stay there.

Stayed this past Thursday to Friday. It's a standard courtyard, redone lobby, but older rooms. Service was good, rate was ok. Internet was free and the speed was .61 Mb/s up and .34Mb/s down.

Stayed here on my way to somewhere else. Typical business hotel, I liked the free parking and free internet, as compared to the places closer to south coast plaza.

Rooms were clean, lots of food and shopping nearby.  Parking sucked...there's tons of it, but the hotel inside is a bit of a maze. I'm thinking a guest could locate either the lot or the lobby...but not both.

What a disaster!  This year I decided to switch my alliance from Starwood to Marriott - HUGE mistake.  My Cartier watch was stolen (in their words *missing*) from my room.  There was no safe and I forgot to put it on.   I was not allowed to speak with the 'real' manager.  Despite my efforts to offer an award to get it back, they had me fill out this unprofessional claim form.  I was not allowed to make a police report or have a copy of the claim form.  So much for my own insurance.  When corporate Finally contacted me, they basically said *by law* they  do  not have to do anything - and that they haven't.  DO NOT STAY HERE.

If you go on the Irvine CVB website, you will find a $50 rebate when staying three nights at any Irvine Hotel. The city of Irvine is great because they have everything you need...beaches, shopping, theme parks and its right next to the airport.

This courtyard is among the less attractive ive stayed at. Interior is pretty tacky, as are the rooms. For a place in Irvine, its pretty subpar.

Gym is pretty sad, and the parking lot is far from the lobby.
