I managed to find an old complaint I had written about this hotel regarding our stay in November of 2006.

I generally enjoy my stays at Marriott hotels.  However, our experience at the Fort Lauderdale Courtyard Marriott this time was marred by a few unpleasant occurrences:

1) The bathtub in Room 302 did not drain.  We showered throughout our stay ankle-deep in dirty bathwater. I called the front desk for assistance and they were not helpful -- e.g., they indicated that they would "send someone up" but never confirmed as to whether anything was done.  

2) Loud conversation in the hallways by the cleaning crew at 7:30am on Friday morning, 11/10.

3) Loud construction 2 floors directly above us (room 502) at 8:47am on Friday morning, 11/10.

There was, in addition, a very musty smell in the room that only a concerted airing could assuage.

To their credit, I received a certificate for a free night's stay at any Courtyard Marriott.  The other redeeming quality was the hotel location - it was really close by a magnificent restaurant called Eduardo de San Angel.
