Courtyard by Marriott At Long Is MacArthur Airport
4 reviews for Courtyard by Marriott At Long Is MacArthur Airport
I just can't believe this was a Courtyard. The staff was amazing. The touches are great: phenomenal full breakfast in the morning (not those do it yourself waffles; I'm talking a FULL made to order breakfast), cookies at night, and a late-night affordable food center with great selections. The rooms are amazingly comfortable; the WiFi works flawlessly, and the place looks and feels great.
I travel a ton, and this is easily one of the best hotels I have stayed at for the price. 5 star services at 2 star prices.
Basic airport hotel. Easy on/off the highway. Friendly staff. Decent rooms.
I had a buffet breakfast here (in one of the conference rooms) and the eggs tasted off (like they had been sitting in the metal bowl overnight) and no toaster for the bread/bagels. Kinda a bummer.
The staff was very accommodating and nice. The bartender was HILARIOUS and her eye rolls at the creep-a-zoids trying to pick me up in front of my father were appreciated.
If you need a place to stay and Ronkonkoma I would recommend it.
"Two beds. One for me, one for my luggage." "This place is really near the highway, but it's so quiet. Maybe it's because I'm seven floors up." "Holy man! This shower has three showerheads! And it's an open area with a curtain. One showerhead on each side, plus a handheld one in the middle. I'm gonna turn all three on and have The Best Shower Ever." "Holy shit! Oh my god. Look at this breakfast! Omlettes made to order. Waffles, bacon, sausage, all kinds of fruit. And all free? This is too good."

This review is on the hotel bar, called the Tru North martini lounge or something.
They make a nice martini.
I've had pleasant experiences every time I've been here, from the time a drummer for a national act gave out illicit drugs (gratis), to the time I met some bearded kentucky dudes who were in for the weekend after two months on the Appalachian Trail, and the time a chick wanted to take my associates upstairs to her room to party while her boyfriend was out scoring coke.
Always a good unpredictable spot.
Features a nice clean bathroom with roomy handicapped stall. Pachelbel's canon in d was a fine accompaniment and I found it a relaxing place to sit down and appreciate the fine tilework on the floor. (separate music in the bar). . . .
There is an outside courtyard with a gas firepit.
Happy hour is weekdays 5pm-7pm and has half price drafts (Sam Adams, Blue Points).
They close weeknights around 11pm.
If you stay in the hotel, there is also a Smokey Bones (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) & Red Lobster (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) in this parking lot for eatin'.
