2 reviews for Courtyard Baltimore BWI Airport
This hotel is a rather odd combination of chic modern upscale with iffy roadside motel. The lobby and rooms are absolutely beautiful and modern, but the hallways and exterior kind of scream 1970s. The elevator had a look that appeared to be part of the renovation, but it smelled and sounded like it wasn't.
But honestly, I'm the last person to care about this sort of thing in a hotel. I just wanted the room to be clean and correctly stocked, and the service to be as promised. That's where I had a problem. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and available airport shuttle. Unfortunately, that shuttle took over an hour (really) to arrive after I called it, which is even sillier when I realized I could have walked the distance with my carry on bags in less time. I didn't quite enjoy the diesel fumes lounge (I mean waiting outside at BWI as every other bus and van known to the transportation industry passed by) while my bedtime also passed. There were several other hotels I could have chosen had I known this would happen.
The deskworker didn't seem to notice a problem with this situation, but their customer service line did, and this is the reason I'll give them three stars. After a couple phone calls, they promised to refund half the cost of my room. (Awaiting credit card statement now.) They can't stay in business doing this, so by the time you book, they will hopefully have fixed this issue.

Not bad, not bad at all.
The lobby has been newly remodeled and looks fantastic. The staff working there are very courteous and proud of it. There are these cool booths with half walls on each side. The walls have small HD sets mounted and there is a remote so you can watch your own DirecTV while you eat.
The pool looked nice (didn't try it, maybe next time) and in one end of the courtyard there was a walled in hot tub.
I like how the pastel room key-cards encouraged guests to "wander" the property and discover things for themselves. Also the giant HD set in the lobby showing weather, news, local stuff to do actually turned out to be an interactive touch screen. Oh yeah, and there were several places to sit where you could plug in your phone, laptop, or even use one of the workstations and printers at no extra charge. Very cool.
There was a cool selection of books that you could grab and read. Very nice that they put so much thought into this great lobby redesign.
The "restaurant" was so-so, kind of pricey, and -1 star for serving rotten end pieces of lettuce in my salad =(
