Review from Cy S.
Diamond Bar, CA
First ever Yelp review and it's warranted! Courtesy Plumbing was so great in their promptness, knowledge, attention to detail, and overall friendliness.
Sorry for the late review JASON, but the holidays keeps you pretty busy up until the new year. I called Courtesy Plumbing on Monday, 11/21/11 to schedule an appointment. They said they could have someone stop by later that same day to check out our problem. We were greeted by JASON [smiling] and introducing himself and his company. I told him that we had water leaking from the kitchen ceiling. He started by listening, through the drywall, to the water spraying out of our broken pipe. He pinpointed the location of the problem and carefully cut through our ceiling drywall and found the leak in one try!
He advised me that our copper pipes were getting too old and recommended us to have it repiped soon. He also recommended an alternative to copper repiping, in flexible pex tubing. He was very knowledgeable in his craft. He continued to cut out our old copper fittings and replaced them with new ones, within 30 minutes he was finished. He cleaned up his mess, put everything back to where it was before, took out his tools, retested and reinspected the pipe again, and then cleaned up a little bit more.
JASON was very thorough and polite. He gave us our bill and it was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Courtesy Plumbing for all your home plumbing needs. It was a great experience, something I dreaded before, but now I will be using them in the future; I even recommended them to my neighbor who also had a great experience with them. -

This review is a long time coming. Holidays, and all that, kinda kept me from writing this. Also I wanted to wait a period of time to see how the finished work was and make sure there weren't any issues that cropped up later.
Back in early December, in what had to be one of the coldest weeks here in SoCal, our water heater unceremoniously died over night. On that Sunday morning I was slapped with the cold, hard fact that indeed, there was no hot water. No matter how long I let the water run, turning the faucet all the way to hot, there was no hot water.
I've dealt with hot water heaters before. This dead water heater I had fixed before. And before that, I had replaced. Not a fun task, trust me. I can do stuff around the house, plumbing I absolutely dislike.
Now, at this point, I've now sworn off Rheem/GE water heaters. Only 2yrs into service, of this water heater, the thermal coupler gave out. Rheem/GE sent me a replacement part under warranty. Now, only 2yrs later, 4yrs into the service of this unit, it's the same problem. There is only a 6yr warranty. In another 2 yrs I'll be out of luck should there be another failure and I'd be stuck having to replace it on another frigid, December weekend.
Thank God these guys at Courtesy Plumbers were available. After a little research on Yelp, these guys looked like a good bet. The fact that they were local was a big plus for me- along with the fact that they were available on Sunday. After coming home from church I called and was able to leave a message for a call back. I received one less than an hour later. After a brief chat with Rick he said he'd drop by to check things out as soon as he was done with another customer.
Rick was knowledgable, informative and polite answering all of my questions. We even talked over the possibility of changing to a tankless system. I decided It wasn't the best option for the house at this time. With his visit we agreed that the best option was to just replace the unit with another traditional water heater. Though, I no longer trusted this water heater manufacturer and did not want to have another failure during a cold spell. Rick recommended another brand that I agreed on, Bradford & White.
Monday came and though there was an issue of how the water heater was going to be replaced, Rick took care of it and installed the new water heater. He drained the old one, swapped the water heater, took care of all the connections, the flume and even added a pan for the water heater to sit in. Just a little insurance if there were to be a leak. The completed work was clean and neat- professional.
Great service, helpful and thorough. I highly recommend these guys. Nothing like a nice, hot shower on a cold day. Things we take for granted. Here it is, 2 months later, and the Bradford & White is going great. -

The plumbers actually fit the company name.
So far, we've had a few services by them and the experience have been nothing but excellent. Lewis installed 2 clean-outs a few months ago, and this time I needed to work on my fireplace. It's a small job, basically to extend the gas pipe 12 inches. The plumber, Rick, was very helpful and thorough. I'm pretty handy around the house so this didn't seem too difficult to me, but just to be on the safe side, I asked him to do it. As it turned out, the job was pretty straightforward but Rick did show me a few things and explained some issues that I may not have otherwise figured out (at least quickly). He did the first part and it passed inspection, I will need to connect the gas pipe to my fancy schmancy dual-pipe burner. Rick taught me all the steps and left me the necessary material so that I can just do it myself.
Overall, I'm very very satisfied with the service.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Best in class plumbing service. A++ Service - Expertise - Thoroughness - Honesty
Two well-known contractors in the Pasadena area assured me I had a leak under the foundation and quoted me repairs in the thousands.
Joe from Courtesy Plumbing performed a thorough inspection and testing and found no elevated moisture levels and no leak. No work needed!! It's not often one finds such honesty in plumbing services.
Moving forward Courtesy plumbing will be the first call for any plumbing needs. -

Came out the same day to take a look at the problem (at 5 pm no less)! Brandon did a thorough inspection but didn't have the equipment to fix the problem. Tom came out the next day and fixed the issue very quickly. Fixed a busted pipe and water heater.
Will ask them to do some large sewer pipe work for me. Very nice people too! -

I'd use them again.
The responded quickly. My husband called them at 10am and they were out at our house by 1pm that same day. Their quote was reasonable based on other prices we researched and the guy that came was nice and polite.
Overall, I'd recommend them as a plumber who can fix any plumbing emergency! -

There is really nothing worse than plumbing problems. I mean, how many of us normal people really know anything about water pipes, water lines, etc.? I sure as hell don't.
This past weekend, my toilet was clogged and everytime I would flush, take a shower, or turn the faucet on, water would come leaking out into my garage and stinking up my place. How is a bachelor like me going to bring some lady friends over when it smells like a dumpster? I was getting so frustrated when I couldn't fix it myself, it was like my house was on its period, yuck!
I turned to yelp for help and courtesy plumbers came up. They came very quickly, did their thing, and explained the problem. The price was magnificent, the workers were amazing and courteous, and top of that, they gave me a 10% yelp discount.
If you ever need plumbing help, do yourself a favor and call courtesy plumbers. Face it, there's things that you can do and things that you can't and should leave to the care of highly qualified professionals.
GREAT! -
Review from Alex O.
Los Angeles, CA
*We had been first time homeowners a week prior to this happening.
There is a lot of stress that comes with being first time homeowners. In the past when any issues rose, we would just call the apartment manager to fix. But now, we're fully responsible for anything and everything that happens on the property so stress is a natural occurrence.
Our first major issue of the new house happened when the toilets and showers in both of our bathrooms decided to regurgitate everything back to us. It's scary watching the water rise instead of drain!
We first thought that maybe we should try to fix it ourselves to save money. But something just told me that we should call in plumbers. Oh great, another stress inducer: finding honest and knowledgeable service that won't rip you off because of your inexperience.
We narrowed our search down to two plumbing companies. The first offered a really low rate to clear out our main line but they also carried rather unfavorable reviews. The other didn't show their rates but had really high, positive reviews. Guess who I decided to call? I'm not saying Courtesy Plumbers comes at premium but to me it's more about quality than quantity; especially if your bathroom components are threatening to flood your house.
The guys at Courtesy Plumbers promptly came on time. They were every bit professional, knowledgeable, informative, and most importantly, honest with me. These traits to me are very important when I look for service. Professionalism means they're serious about what they do. Being knowledgeable means they know what they're doing. I like to know what's going on so passing over information to me is a key. And there's no replacing good old fashioned honesty. As a matter of fact, when they told me how much it was going to cost to clear out the main line, it was just slightly higher than the other guys. I'm very happy with my decision to call them.
Inexperienced homeowners and regular homeowners with plumbing needs: do yourself a favor and call Courtesy Plumbers. Hopefully, I won't need plumbing services again anytime soon. But if i do, at least now I have one I can trust. -

I was a bit skeptical about all the great reviews, but I found that Courtesy Plumbers lived up to it.
The shower needed a small hardware fix & the slow flowing toilet was augured. Tom was very professional & worked quickly. He explained everything I needed to know before doing the work.
The price was reasonable when compared to previous charges that I've paid with other companies.
Tom was fabulous. I would certainly use them again & would recommend this company. I'm very happy with this plumbing experience. -

"Courteous" doesn't do these guys justice. The should change their name to "The Absolute Best Plumbers in Town."
The guy gave it too us straight, didn't try to nickel and dime us for a drippy bathtub faucet. He had to leave and come back 3 times to get the right supplies from Home Depot, because our bathtub was "tricky" and din't charge us extra. You can trust these guys to do a great job and will call them again for any future work. -

I really can't say enough good things about Courtesy Plumbers. I'm blown away by their speed and responsiveness as well as the quality and price!!!
I called and left a message tonight at 9:07 PM and received a call back exactly 20 minutes later. I thought for sure I wouldn't hear anything until the morning at least. They said they could come out tonight or tomorrow morning, whichever I preferred. I asked what the charge would be to come out tonight and they said it wouldn't be any extra. WOW! We really wanted our kitchen sink fixed as soon as possible (since our failed attempt with draino didn't work) so we were happy to have someone come tonight. I thought that it would cost an arm and a leg to have someone come ASAP, so this was a welcome surprise!
Jeff and John showed up at our house about 40 minutes later (amazing!) and were so professional and very friendly. Jeff told us exactly what needed to be done, at a very reasonable price, without nickel and diming us, and very quickly at that! An hour later, they were on their way, and everything is working perfectly. And Jeff fixed the shoddy job that the previous plumber had done so that these issues won't happen again.
I highly recommend Courtesy Plumbers for all of your plumbing needs!!!!! Thanks guys!!!! :-) -

I had a leak in my sink and called them to come. Guy came on time (15 minutes early) and was polite and professional. I do feel a little over charged ($250 dollars!) for something that took him only minutes to do....not sure if i'd call them first again. If I didnt have the flu I would have done a better job calling around for a price quote...I was just too sick to do anything. I was assured there's a warrenty (1 yr) for their work, so that helps a little. But the cost still was a bit high for a sink issue....

I also called Courtesy Plumbers based on Yelp, and THANK GOD I DID!
I was fully expecting to be told they were already booked up for the week, but I called yesterday and had Rick come out today. TODAY! Wow, that is what I call service. I didn't even realize they have evening and weekend hours since I am used to most companies being Mon - Fri, 8 - 5.
I got a call when he was on his way, which was awesome. It was even before the window of time I was given. Rick came to the door, completely professional, and went right to work.
I had a drippy bathtub faucet and it has been dripping,...oh let's just say for a year now. It was light at first, but it had gotten progressively worse to the point where it reminded me of Chinese water torture.
He spent a good 45 minutes trying to go with Plan A (the cheaper and easier route.) I think I was ready for Plan B about 30 minutes into it, LOL. But he explained what Plan B consisted of, how much time it would take and how much it would cost. I gave him the green light.
He was here for FOUR HOURS and he worked his butt off. He showed me each step as he worked on it and encouraged me to take pictures to show my husband. So in the end, we got a brand new water valve, new copper connectors and all new hardware. He was super nice and friendly the entire time he was here and cleaned up everything when he was done.
I really cannot say enough good things about this company and will be recommending them to anyone and everyone who asks me if I know of a good plumber.
THANK YOU RICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

This company rocks! They are everything a non-handy person would want in a moment of distress. When I called, I was quoted a price and rest assured it would be taken care of that evening. Our plumber Josh was amazing. He was clean, very respectful and he made me feel at ease. He explained the process and taught me a few things about plumbing. I felt comfortable enough to ask questions and he never made me feel dumb for doing so. I would call them back without a doubt whenever I have a plumbing issue. Which I hope is far from now

All the 5 star reviews are absolutely correct! Cory came by to check out a clogged drain, which was backed up before he arrived but drained beautifully the second Cory took a look. The clog had unclogged itself! Cory didn't make me feel foolish at all and he patiently waited and watched while we tested the pipes for another 10-15 minutes. The best part is that he didn't even charge me for coming to check out the "problem". Thank you so much Courtesy Plumbers! I will definitely be using you for all future plumbing issues.

Wow! Called them for a main pipe clog on a Saturday, no extra charge for weekends, clear and affordable prices upfront. The plumber was well mannered, very cool and didn't try to give me the run around. A second guy had to show up and assist on the roof and there was no additional charge. They gave a Yelp discount, take credit card. If you have ever had a bad experience with a plumber you know how important all of these things are. You just don't find honest businesses like this anymore. They are my go to guys for plumbing. done.

Today I called Courtesy Plumbing based on the reviews from yelp. I called around 2:30pm, they had a tech Corey come by around 4:05pm. talk about quick service.
I wasn't sure what was wrong with my line, but I know my father had told me the line gets backed up a couple times a year. The tech told me he would try to do a few tricks before removing the toilet to use a machine snake because it would save some money for me. Watched him do everything he could then he did what he had to do and fixed the problem.
Before he left I asked if they did garbage disposal installs. Luckily they did, he let me watch step by step because I wanted to learn how to do it and he was very helpful. He was done before 6pm and on his way. This means he took a look at the problem in my restroom solved it and installed my new garbage disposal in less than two hours. From the other service my father used to use, this is record time. Thanks Courtesy Plumbers! -

Another great YELP find...! Thanks fellow Yelpers for pointing me in the direction of Courtesy Plumbers.
After having my shower valve brake on Monday, I called Courtesy Plumbing for a service quote. I called and requested an evening appointment to accommodate my work schedule and was nervously waiting to hear that they would not be able to accommodate or that it would cost much more to have someone come after 5pm. Well, neither one of those two things happened so I was pleased that we were off to a good start.
From the moment Tom (the tech) arrived, he was friendly, polite and very thorough in his evaluation of the problem. He explaining what needed to be replaced and even had the replacement parts in his van. He made the repair quickly, he tested the new shower valve and even made sure he cleaned up his work area after he was done working.
I was very impressed with the service provided by Courtesy Plumbing from beginning to end. I would highly recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to call on them for any other plumbing repairs.
Thank you Tom & Courtesy Plumbing. -

A friend accidentally flushed her cell phone down our toilet over the weekend and so I needed a plumber quickly on a Sunday. I looked up a plumber on Yelp and I came across Courtesy Plumbers. I read through their great reviews and decided to give them a call. Cory came out and within an hour he had removed the toilet and had managed to get the phone out of the toilet trap. He reinstalled our toilet and clean up the work area....all within an hour! I received excellent service from this company and also found their job cost very reasonable. I am happy to say that I have found our new plumbing company. I highly recommend them!

My water heater had been knocking for several years. I finally got around to calling Courtesy and Tom came out and took care of us. He was nice enough to bring some brand new drop clothes for our carpet and a brand new hose to drain the water heater. Tom came right on time, was fast and friendly, and did an awesome job replacing my water heater. The next time I need to call a plumber I'm definitely calling Courtesy Plumbers.

A few weeks ago, I had a bad bathroom sink clog and after waiting for another plumber to arrive, who ended up never arriving, I found Courtesy Plumbers on Yelp and I have to say all of the positive reviews were true. Courtesy Plumbers was able to send a crew out to my condo within 2 hours of calling and they crew was very polite and fixed my issue within minutes. They also charged a very reasonable rate for their services, especially coming on-site with such short notice.
I'd highly recommend Courtesy Plumbers -
Review from Matthew D.
Gardena, CA
Had the good fortune of having the owner of Courtesy Plumbing, Jeff, and two more gentlemen come out to inspect and unblock our kitchen drain.
My experience with Courtesy Plumbing was first rate from making my appointment to receiving my receipt after service.
Once Jeff and his crew arrived, they asked necessary questions as to how/what type of blockage I had and went to the pains of speaking with my neighbors to better diagnose the root of the problem. The crew immediately set to work and unclogged the drain which had been causing problems for months.
The small details of Courtesy Plumbing's service set them apart. In doing his consultation, Jeff acquired hints that guided him to examine the piping the landlord had installed, and he discovered that the 'trap' for the drain had been installed backwards and had been causing all types of problems. Needless to say, Jeff and his crew made the necessary repairs and were done in less than 20 minutes.
The appointment time was 7 pm, and the crew showed up at 7:20; however, they were coming from Covina to Gardena, so just the trip alone was an effort.
Amazing service and professionalism. I will recommend this company to anyone needing plumbing service.
Make sure you as customer mention yelp for the 10% discount. -

Thank you fellow Yelpers for this find and helpful reviews! My boyfriend put me in charge of finding a new plumber, since the plumber we used before did not come out after 5pm and on weekends. We had some kind of clogged drain, so we needed someone to come by after we got out of work. I have no idea what to look for when searching for plumbers, and Yelp helped out a lot! So I did my usual 4 - 5 star search, and that's how I found Courtesy Plumbers.
I called Courtesy Plumbers on Friday morning, and they were able to come out at 5:30pm. Brownie points for coming after 5pm and on weekends! We didn't need to leave work early or take a day off, and that was greatly appreciated. They were actually early and waiting in front of our house when we got home. I can't tell you exactly what the problem was, other than the sink was clogged/leaking, or what they did to fix it. My boyfriend will have to add that on his review. It took them, maybe an hour or so to fix the problem. They did give us a 10% Yelp discount, which helped out. Love discounts! There was also a 60 day warranty included, just in case it clogs again. Everything seems to be working well now. We would recommend them. Hopefully we won't need to call them again, but if we have any other plumbing issues in the future, we know who to call. Their magnet is on fridge. -

I called Courtesy Plumbers at 7:30am this morning based on all the positive feedback listed on Yelp. I had a kitchen sinck that was back filling that I attempted to unsuccessfully fix on my own. I was given a same day time frame of 9-11 and Cory showed up promptly at 10:00am. Cory was very professional and friendly and went straight to work on the sink. Within 30 minutes he had vaccummed and snaked the pipes completely and had solved the problem. I received a 10% discount for finding Courtesy Plumbers on Yelp for a total bill of $99.00. I am extremely pleased with the work and business ethic of Courtesy Plumbers and will definitely call them first with any future plumbing needs!

WE HAVE ROOTS IN OUR PIPES!!! OH NO!!!!
As a new home-owner, everything terrifies my bank acct. We called Courtesy based on their yelp reviews, and Jeff Taylor, the owner, arrived early with his son, and they began a long process of 'snaking' the roots in our pipes leading to the street... It wasn't going as well as Jeff thought that it should, so he called in his two brothers with this very high-tech camera equipment, and revealed just how bad my old-house's pipe were... As he was explaining what my house really needed, I felt a little wobbly, and he sensed my financial fear backing up like our toilet the day before...
Before I could even ask "how much" Jeff said, "let us try one more time with a bigger snake, and hopefully that will buy us a few months without the major investment now." It worked, and we are so grateful. Jeff, his son John and his two brothers are true gentlemen, and I absolutely trust their opinion and expertise, and I can really appreciate how the handled this new home-owner with such careful professionalism!
Thank you, Mr. Taylor. -

Now I know why they have 5 stars!
I called 4 plumbing companies on 1/2/12. I had water leaking from the ceiling. Only Courtesy Plumbers was able to send someone out the same day. Rick was there within an hour. Apparently he was in the area. My father had already done some trouble shooting and had cut a few holes in the wall. Rick confirmed the leak was not in the areas where we had already cut holes. Two hours later had found the leak and made the repair. It was the size of a pin prick in the copper pipe.
Rick was awesome! Really he was. Great sense of humor, didn't leave a mess, and he gave us a great price. I didn't feel like I was being cheated at all. He was so excited to find the source of the leak.
Should I have any plumbing needs in the future, I won't have to use Yelp. I'll just call them again. -

WOW!! Tell your friends about Courtesy Plumbers!
I had a slow drain in the shower and tried to snake it myself a couple times to no avail. I tried the Drain-O stuff with no avail. I have a home warranty and they sent out a guy who told me I needed to have a main drain clean-out installed at the cost of $900+. He told me his snake was too big to do the small shower drain. I thought, heck with that maybe I will snake it again.
I was at my end and on a final ditch effort I looked on Yelp and saw all the great reviews for Courtesy Plumbers. I just wanted a second opinion before forking out the big bucks. The two guys that came out to the house were friendly and told my wife they would take care of this no problem. Less than 15 min later they snaked the drain and got it flowing again like new!
DON`T CALL ANYONE ELSE! I RECOMMEND THESE GUYS TO EVERYONE! -

I was shopping around to fix a shower spout that has fallen off at my parents house. I've got a range of quotes from $800 to $5000. With such a wide range, how do I even know who to "believe". I always look on Yelp for restaurant advise, thougtht I would see if anyone posts reviews for plumbing company. Sure enough, Curtesy Plumbers came up with over 80 reviews versus other plumbing company with less than 10. I called for an estimate and Brandon came out on Saturday. He explained how he would fix the problem and gave us a price on the spot and offered to start on the job right away. We were comfortable with the the price and thought the solution he proposed made sense so we said to proceed with the repair.
Since Brandon was really professional and there were other things around the house needing attention, we ask him to fix other items as well. As time ran out to complete all the work, Brandon offered to come back on Sunday to finish the job with no extra cost. Now who has heard of a plumbing company working on a Sunday without charging extra.
Overall, we were happy with Brandon's work and his professional manner. I would recommend Courtesy Plumbers to others. Also, if you mention Yelp, you get 10% off the repair bill. -

Jason came over right on time, same-day service, determined that my kitchen sink had not, in fact, exploded, and there was just one loose pipe connector. He fixed it quickly and didn't charge me anything for the visit. How awesome is that??
This was on that insanely rainy day a couple of weeks ago, by the way, when he would've had a perfect excuse to be in a bad mood and charge me up the waz for coming out.
Thanks, guys! -

I hardly write reviews as businesses generally perform within my personal range of acceptability so nothing extraordinary good or bad stands out. Every now and then a business breaks through the barriers of mediocrity to a degree that compels me to take the time to write a review. In this case, Courtesy Plumbers really stuck out in my mind as exceptional.
I called Courtesy Plumbers based on the numerous other glowing Yelp reviews. A tenant of mine in Pasadena informed me of an upstairs bathtub leak that started dripping through the light fixture downstairs. Needless to say that in addition to the leak itself there is the significant risk of secondary electrical problems if the leak was left unchecked.
Courtesy Plumbers accommodated to the restrictive scheduling of my tenants and Rick arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He diagnosed the problem methodically and carefully without tearing a hole in my ceiling unnecessarily, completed his work with an honest solution within the window of time that he had and did so without giving my tenants any angst. Rick called me after he was done with a full report letting me know what he found and what he did. This is even more exceptional considering that I was not present to oversee and inspect his work, but I had inspected the problem beforehand and his diagnosis matched what I suspected the problem to be. My tenants also gave me positive feedback after Rick finished his work.
I will definitely be entrusting Courtesy Plumbers with future work that I need to have done. -

Knowing that I would need work done on my home, I was successful in finding an a/c repair person on this site...... so I did the same thing for the plumber. A week ago at approx 9p, I'm in my bathroom & I felt water at my feet. Thank goodness the leak would happen only when I ran water. the next day, my mom called Courtesy Plumbers. They were willing to come out within 60-90 mins. My mom asked them to come in the afternoon instead and they did.
The specialist told my mom what the cause of the problem was and fixed it. Because I had located them on this site, they were able to give us a discount. I'll be calling them back if I need them again.
The only drawback, it the specialist showed up in a pick-up truck that did not have the company's name on it. If they should red this, I ask that they invest in that. -

Like everyone else who needed the help of a plumber my toilets were acting up which resulted in allowing very limited toilet activities in my house. Looked on yelp and found Courtesy Plumbers and scheduled an appointment for the next day and requested the plumber give me a 30 min notice ahead of time so I can leave work and get home.
The next day arrives and Sean, as requested, called me 30 min ahead of time and arrived on time. After a brief explanation he went to work and within half an hour the toilets were fixed and toilet activities resumed back to normal (hooray!)
Sean even gave a 15% off labor for having contacted them with the help of Yelp. Thanks again fellow yelpsters! -

In order for you to understand how much I truly am happy with Courtesy Plumbers, I need to give you some background. Bear with this long review.
I had a leak in the ceiling from a copper pipe the size of a pinhole. The same pipe had a leak in it before which was repaired by Mike Diamond Plumbing (The Smell Good Plumbers). The dry wall was already taken out so the pipe was in clear view.
I called the "smell good plumber" to come out and take a look at it to see if it was related to their previous repair or not. I called them at 10am and was told they would be here before noon. Because I complained that it could be related to their previous repair, they didn't charge me for the house call. They normally charge a fee (which I should add is not deducted from any repairs you decide to do).
The first leak cost me a fortune, so I thought I'd get a second opinion and reading the yelp reviews I decided to call Courtesy Plumbers. I called at 11am and was told a timeframe between 2-5pm. The house call was free and I was told that I would only have to pay if the estimate required work (such as taking out drywall) to evaluate the situation. This fee however, would be applied to the actual repair if I chose to do it.
It was past noon and Mike Diamond wasn't here yet. At 12:06, I called Mike Diamond asking for an ETA of when their guy would get here. They said another half hour. The guy shows up. He takes about 30 minutes to walk around and do various things and then says he will give me a couple of estimates to either just repair the small area that is leaking or to replace the whole pipe since it's happened before. I was quoted $500 to fix the small area leaking and $945 to replace the whole pipe. Both prices supposedly included a 15% discount. I was shown his rate book to see what their standard pricing is so I would know that he wasn't making up the price. I'm just curious that if all he had to do was flip through a book to show me the price, why did he take 8 minutes in his truck figuring out what to quote me. I thanked him for his quote and wished him on his merry way.
At 1:48pm, I saw the truck from Courtesy Plumbers pull up. Promptly at 2:00pm, Brandon walked out. He realized that I saw that he came early and apologized for waiting. He knew that I was told between 2-5pm, so he didn't want to come too early in case I wasn't available yet. He walked in and looked at the leak. In less than FIVE minutes, he just said..."This will cost $375 less your 15% discount for Yelp." Within 30 minutes from him walking in my door, the leak was fixed. He also said it would be $675 if I really wanted to replace the entire pipe.
I was so pleased with his quote, I asked him to take a look a my upstairs toilet that randomly flushes because water leaks from the tank into the bowl. I previously had gotten a quote from Mike Diamond that was over $300 who said that the entire contents of the tank needed to be replaced. Brandon quoted me $10 to fix the flapper. Brandon did mention that it was possible that it's not just the flapper, but he wouldn't know for sure until the flapper was replaced. Low and behold, he replaced the flapper and the leak into the bowl stopped.
I wish I had known about Courtesy Plumbing for all my previous pluming repairs. They certainly would have saved me a lot of money and heartache.
I wholeheartedly recommend them and will definitely call them for any future repairs! -

Sunday evening: Discovered puddle on carpet in the hallway near the bathroom, presumably from a busted pipe underground. Did some internet research and called Courtesy Plumbers based on the 5-star Yelp reviews, a legit looking website, and the A+ rating on BBB (whatever that means), and left a message. They called back at 10pm. I told them it wasn't an emergency but would like someone to come out the next morning if possible. They said they would call back the next morning, and they did, around 8:30am. They had someone here by 9.
They quoted $325 for the leak detection and said it would be free if we went with them for the repair. I'm not sure what the industry standard is for this sort of thing, but I thought I saw some websites advertise the same service for $99 - $125.
They said they would be back between 2 and 3pm to do the actual leak detection BUT ended up flaking. They called and said their leak detection guy wouldn't be able to come out until the following day, but they did offer a $125 discount to make up for the delay.
The next day Jason arrived bright and early, gave an estimate, and got to work. He pulled up the carpet, drilled through concrete foundation, found the culprit (a hole the size of a pin prick), suctioned out the water, replaced and soldered on a section of new pipe, and refilled the hole, all in a matter of hours. The way he left the place, you wouldn't even know any work had been done. Jason even went the extra mile and replaced a broken outdoor faucet/valve thingy for us at no additional cost!
All in all, a well-run and honest business. Jason was very professional and courteous. I don't have a point of comparison for pricing and they didn't give us an itemized bill, but the total cost (which wasn't cheap) seemed fair and worth the quick, excellent, and reliable service provided. The only con was they couldn't do same day service.
Oh, and you get a $25 discount if you mention you found them on Yelp! -

Wow! They came on a Friday at 8pm. The rate to come out on that time and day was amazing. I even left them a tip. Other plumbers were charging a lot more to come at that time of day.
Thanks Cory! You da man! ... Ben "http://AlhambraCompute..." -

Had a hairline fracture at the soldier joint for my Shower. Went on Yelp, saw these guys with great rating, gave them a call. The guy who answer the call was very nice and even ask if I found them on yelp for 10% discount. Called them at 8:00AM, the guy showed up with his assistance by 10:00AM. Talk about quick, looked at the issue, give me an estimate, went off to get the parts, repaired it with minimal damage to the wall and done in 1 1/2 hour. As for price, can't really compare as I didn't shop around, but for the work I saw done compared to the other guys I had a year ago who came out for something much less, price ain't too bad. Would highly recommend these folks for people. No need for Mike Diamond, the smell good plumber. Just need a good one that does it fast.
