For anyone who says "waffles are waffles" they don't deserve a Country Waffle Waffle.

They are delightful! Light and fresh and crunchy and tasty and yummmmy!

I enjoyed their food, the service was good (except for the double digit IQ hostess who brought us one glass of water at a time...), but the atmosphere is high school cafeteria meets country store meets truck stop.

I decided not to ding them for the decor - and applaud their waffles.

I was asked to come to work early so this was one of the rare occasions that i'm awake for breakfast. Walked inside and the decor reminded me of the older home town buffets. I take a look at the menu and think of dennys and ihop.

I order up the crepe and waffle combo and a side of country potatoes. The crepes which looked more like rolled up pancakes were fluffy and sweet. The waffle was pretty crispy and light, even with the syrup sitting on it, the waffle never turned soggy. The sausages were ok, much better than the spongy things they serve at dennys. I was hoping for more meat, but I remembered where I was... To complete my carbo loading adventure, I gots me some potatoes. These were more skillet prepared, with the skin left one vs the fried cubed ones at dennys. I like fried stuff better, so I'll probably get hash browns next time.

Service was fast and efficient. I always got my soda refills. No hassle on my food. Good place to eat and go before work. If i have time for breakfast during breakfast time(not 3am after the club) i'll come back here.

This location is way busier than the one that we have in Vacaville.  The food is still great nonetheless and the service is still the same.  The wait can be a bit long if you get here during peak breakfast hours but I think it's cool that they serve coffee to waiting customers.  Although....the containers ARE empty by the time I'm there, it's still a nice touch.

I went here on Mothers day at 0820 hrs. It was busy and you had to wait if there 5 or more in your party, but if was 2 you were seated right away. Prices more than  Denny less than Carrows & IHOP. Very good waffles and breakfast. Brought to you hot and quickly. Waiters seemed rushed but attentive to your needs. Very clean near Walmart Target and others big stores a good place to eat before shopping if your wifey drags you there. I liked it. Most meals under 10.00 but steak and such was more. We got out with a 20.00 bill including milk & OJ.

i have yet to taste their waffles, but waffles are waffles...

I have eaten here quite a few times for breakfast

I like coming here because they serve you tons of food for cheap, most of their entrees have a choice of bread, if you choose the biscuits, they give you two freshly baked biscuits with tons of butter, however they could probably bake the biscuits for a few more minutes to brown them more

I always order the linguica scramble

I want to try their chicken and waffles though

They have seats outside and coffee in percalators for free while you wait to get seated

They need to refill their baskets of jam and non-dairy creamer/half and half baskets more often, I have often found empty containers in them or none of my favorite jams or creamers

The thing I love about this place is how fresh all the ingredients are.   The linguica scramble, crepe fruit rollups, and pretty much everything else I've eaten there off the breakfast menu is delicious.  The decor is nothing fancy, but goes along with the whole "Country" theme.  There's usually always a wait, especially on the weekends, but the good news is there's a breakfast bar at the back, and if you're not too picky about having a booth or table, there's usually seats available back there with no wait.  The coffee and chairs outside are also nice as you don't seem to mind or notice the wait so much when your comfortably caffeinated and sitting down.

Overview:
Got there a little after 10:30 this Sunday morning. We had about a 10 minute wait. Pretty good considering the crowd waiting outside

Service:
Had a nice and efficient waiter (Juan). The rest of staff didn't seem as friendly, but then it's a Sunday so they were prob a bit stressed out.

Food:
I ordered the Linguica Scramble (sans onions) and it was yummy! It hit the spot for me. Coffee was mediocre - not too bad, but nothing spectacular. Hubby had the steak and eggs. He shouldn't have ordered the steak medium-rare. Hope his DT (digestive tract) doesn't complain.

Returning?:
Sure, but only if I'm craving them. Otherwise, the fam and I will prob try the other breakfast joints in the area.

Why the rating?
My tummy was satiated, so I was happy. Hence the 3 stars. Wish they had more choices. I kept turning to the back of the menu expecting to find more items.

This is our 3rd time going here.  Love their waffles.  The food are great and serve it all day.  The service is great which include the wait time to seat you down, drinks you want to order and within a couple of minutes the server will ask you right away what you like to eat.  I like that, quick and not painful unlike some breakfast place they will neglect you until everyone around get their food already.  It's like a hungry predator drooling for their prey.  We ordered a simple omelet, kids waffle w/ strawberry and whipped cream, caramel n banana waffle w/ whipped cream and 2 eggs and sausage (my order) and their burger w/ fries.  I know my son is hungry for meat.  About 10 min later our food were serve and very large portion.  The waffles are great with bananas, pecan and caramel.  Hella yummilious.  Our server are great asking us if we need anything else.    Great selection of food and I made a great choice picking the Caramel banana waffles.

Good food, service and price.  Clean facility and restroom.  Plenty of parking.

I like this place better than iHop and Denny's combined.....that being said I don't come here too often anymore. They reworked the menu a few months back (it got smaller) and they got rid of ALL (literally) of my favorite dishes. It's just too disappointing to come these days, because what I want isn't on the menu anymore : (

All and all though they get bonus points for opening early. Even the local iHops don't open at 6am. Weekends always have a crowd in the late morning, so try to get there early or you're in for a wait. However, they set up chairs outside and offer free coffee on these days, so that's pretty nice.

Alright, well I actually listened to some of the people that yelped this place, thinking it was gonna be.........okay. My expectations were very low at this point, I wasn't gonna knock this place to be the best diner in the world. So when me and my gf arrived to the restaurant we thought it was actually pretty nice since it was clean with happy faces smiling at us. We were seated immediately and given menus. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't aware of the specials that were posted in the front of the restaurant since we were seated so quickly and I was facing a wall. The menu seemed very simple, yet "dinerish" if thats a word. I thought to myself, the variety isn't as available as most "diners" would be. The waitress was as great as most diner waitresses could be, meaning get drinks, order, get food, here's the bill, get out. Not that I expected more from a place like that, so I gave it my original 2 star service.

For the food.......I ordered the Jeb's omelet that had bacon, ham, sausage, and spinach with some cheese. It came with hash browns and I decided to go with the biscuits. My girlfriend on the other hand only ordered the French toast......why we didn't order the waffles......it just didn't seem like the restaurant was marketing that as their premier item......I guess that's why everyone that yelped this place didn't order waffles. Anyways, my gf liked her french toast......i thought it was okay, i mean it tasted like french toast......nothing special about it. My order was a disaster, I have a picture I took from my cell phone (I don't have internet access on my phone or the cable to hook it up to my computer yet, but i'll post it when i can). Anyways it was a complete greasy mess. It seemed the cook, cooked my bacon, sausage, and everything else separately in a whole lot of oil and the egg portion in another pan. It pretty much came to me as this greasy mess of omelet and hash browns. It was really disgusting because I had taken a bite and my entire mouth was coated with grease and oil, so i opened the omelet and i could see some burned grease on my bacon and sausage. What made it worse, i could count how many leaves of spinach was in my omelet (it was 5). I have not been disappointed with a restaurant in my life, until this came along. I wanted to ask the waitress if they could do something about this, but again, the service was not there for me. What was worse, I had to use the bathroom in between my meal and I could hear the waiters, bussers, cooks all laughing and having fun in the back. To all that come to this restaurant, beware.......service is lacking for a new restaurant, and the food is absolutely horrible. I think this place has no comparison with country way, cafe vasiliki's , and baldie's cafe. I will not return to this restaurant ever again and I would suggest you not attempt it, unless you like eating oil and grease. I will post the pic i have soon.

Fiance and I were up and about early and decided to give Country Waffles a try.  Country Waffles is a breakfast spot located in the same parking lot as the Hayward/Union City Target.

We got here around 9:30 on a Sunday and there were already people waiting outside.  Not thinking this was a good thing, we went to the front desk area and put our names in.  She told us about a 10 minute wait.  So we waited and almost 10 minutes on the nose they had a table ready for us.

Country Waffles is decorated like grandma's house in the country.  Lots of fake plants hanging from the ceiling combined with that small country house motif.  But atleast the place is clean and bright.

We were seated and the bust boy asked if we wanted anything to drink.  I put in for an order of Fresh OJ and the Fiance put in her order for coffee.  We got our menu and had a look over.  This is a breakfast spot, so a majority of the menu is traditional american breakfast.  You have all of your standard Waffles, Eggs, Pancakes, Omelets, and also a couple diner lunch items such as burgers, patty melts, club sandwiches, etc.  There is nothing that really stood out as "special" about the menu, it's mostly "good old hometown cooking" without the fancy stuff.  So if you're looking for something special in your pancakes, waffles, or omelets, you're going to be disappointed.  If you're looking for the basics, then this is the right place for you.

Breakfast items here will run you about $7 - $10.  If you get say a simple 2 egg combo, that will run about $6.  You're better off just paying the extra buck and getting one of their main items

We looked over the menu and I decided on the egg white and turkey wrap with country potatoes and the fiance got the veggie wrap with fresh fruit.  We chatted for a bit and our wraps came out.  The one good thing about Country Waffles is that they are generous with their portions.  Our wraps were bigger than most burritos and they gave a generous amount of fruit and potatoes.  We decided to dig in.  My wrap was ok.  Nice amount of egg, cheese, and sliced turkey inside, my major complaint is that a lot of "juices" soaked out of the wrap.  So on my plate I had this puddle of liquid that dripped out of the wrap.  We also got some salsa to go with it and to put it bluntly it was Pace Salsa.  Definitely not fresh or homemade.  The potatoes were also a disappointment.  It looked like they fried the top and the bottom, but didn't cook it all the way through, so I got this big flat lump of potatoes.  My fiance thought here wrap was good but also had the same "leakage" problem as I did.  Here fruit was fresh, so that was a bonus.  Also the OJ didn't taste fresh as stated (more like fresh from a can) and the coffee was weak.

We ended up spending about $24 including tip for breakfast.  Overall the food was hit and miss but they were generous with portion size.  Prices seems high to me compared to other places you can go to.  The service here was friendly and fast, so they get points for that.  But there just wasn't anything special about this place except being open for breakfast.  Rating wise, give them 2.5 stars but will round up to 3 for this.  My recommendation, if you get her early and looking just for something to eat, might be worth a stop.  But if you're looking for a dinning experience, there are better options and if you see a line out the door, it's not because the food is great.  I personally wouldn't wait longer than 10 minutes to get inside Country Waffles and if the line is longer than that, I would recommend going else where for breakfast.

We run out of places to eat for lunch in good ol' "UC". I always go to the same 5-6 different lunch eateries. So.. I thought I'd give this place a try. It's like eating breakfast for lunch, but that's ok with me sometimes. I got the combo of half waffle, two sausages, and two eggs. My lunch companion got a combo of two crepes, corn beef hash, and two eggs. Being that this place was called Country WAFFLES, I thought their waffles would be very good, but it was only medium good. I liked how the syrup was heated up. I tried some of the hash and it tasted a bit odd. All in all, I think this place is a little better than IHOP, but the ambiance and decor is blah. I think they should re-decorate (The decor reminds me of those diner places in the boonies in some movies).

I ordered an omelette here and it wasn't too bad.  It was sorta like an upscale Denny's.  I saw other tables with HUGE waffles, so next time I"m getting a waffle!!  I trust this place AND there was a wait so that helps.

4 stars easy just for their Eggs Benedict. I've only been to Country Waffles on weekends, so I'm not sure if it's available weekdays. But if you're an Eggs Benedict fan, definitely give Country Waffles a shot.

The English muffin is perfectly toasted and stays crisp under the ham, eggs, and hollandaise sauce. The ham is a thick cut and very tender. The eggs have always been perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce tops it all off perfectly. It comes with a side of country potatoes (or hash-browns if you prefer).

I haven't tried too many other items of theirs but I do recall the French Toast and Biscuits and Gravy to be particularly good as well. I like my French Toast slightly crispy and Country Waffles' fits the bill.

I came here by myself trying to fill in a gap between my break with school & work. It was my first time trying the Country Waffles franchise so I was kinda excited. I wasted no time in looking at the menu (bad mistake) so I immediately went for the Swedish Fruit Roll-ups with Olala berries (which are THICK, buttery crepes filled with olala jam?) & a strawberry waffle.

For the most part I was enjoying the "roll-ups." They were pillowy, but somehow I felt too overcome with the sweetness of the berries that it left a weird after taste. I felt the same way about the waffle. The strawberries were obviously freshly cut since I found pieces of green strawberry tops in my waffle, but the strawberries were of the commercially produced so they had less of the strawberry flavor.

The waffle itself even had a weird taste. Don't get me wrong, the waffle was fluffy & moist, but it had a weird after taste too; somewhat like almondy/marzipan? ..totally not something I was looking for in a waffle.. a "country waffle" at that! I'm assuming it was the waffle iron or something.

The services was pretty good, but I think if a server see's a lone diner, they should at least consider the portions & suggest smaller sizes to accomodate the diner. The waffle was pretty big for just myself (especially since I had the Swedish roll-ups with eggs & sausage) & I told the waiter that I just wanted to have a taste for it. He could've suggested a half order of the waffle or pointed out the special menu with the $3.99 deal (Rancher eggs with a choice of [insert choice here] $4.99 if you add sausage, bacon, or ham)

I paid $20 (including tip) just for myself. The entrees are on an average about $6-7 a plate.. So overall I wasted a couple bucks for a mediocre breakfast. I pretty much paid for the service and the "ambiance" (which is country-like -- looks more old than new).

My brother says they have a pretty good lunch so I'm gonna give this place another chance & see if it can redeem itself..

Important Notes:
(1) Don't make the same mistake I did, look out for the side menu on the table, (2) check out the specials for better deals or alternatives, and lastly (3) this place is only open from 6:00AM-3:00PM M-F.
