Cash only business. This is a bare bones, no frills place. But it is dirt, dirt cheap. My all meat burrito was $4.15. If you get it with beans and rice they drop it down to around $3.50.

Reminds me of one of my favorite "hole in the wall" places Robertitos.

Food was outstanding...hot, fresh and NOT GREASY. That is what amazed me the most...Mexican food is very easy to make greasy. This was not. Robertitos, while I like it a lot, can be greasy at times.

Very diverse menu...they offer breakfast till 11 AM. Parking is very limited, but when two people can eat a good quality lunch for around $11, it's pretty hard to beat.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants... in the WORLD! It holds a special place in my heart, as my deceased grandfather used to take me here in the 80's, when it was still a classic cafe. After leaving Fresno for 12 years, I was excited to see that "Country Fare" was still around, though a bit apprehensive when I heard it had been bought out by a family and turned into a Mexican restaurant. I then learned it was still my grandpa's favorite place to go.

The food is as close as you will get to home cooked Mexican food... and it is DELICIOUS! My wife and I (and everyone else) couldn't recommend the fresh guacamole more, it is so good!

BRING CASH!!! This place does not accept credit cards, which sort of adds to the experience. It's cheap as hell, though... $12 usually covers my wife and I (w/ out drinks).

This is the perfect spot for a bowl of hangover menudo!  Maybe it's just me but after a long night drinking this place definitely hit the spot for a bowl full of hominy and tripe with extra lemon please!

They must get that a lot though.  I remember, one morning my cousins and I came here after a *festive* night.  We still had our make-up on from the night before, but left the house in our pj's and nobody seemed to mind that we looked like a bunch of tired hookers with glitter on every inch of their body.  They must get that a lot...

My dad's co-workers introduced him to this restaurant and it was through my dad that I found this restaurant.
Great mexican food for cheap!!  For less than 5 bucks you can get a full meal that will fill you up and depending on your portion you might actually have to take some of it home.  If you'd like some beer with that, less than 10 bucks, because the import beers they sell are only 3 bucks each.
It's one of those hole-in-the-wall places that only the locals know about.

Just a few things to remember and know before you get there:

They close at 8PM and they accept CASH ONLY.
During the day, they have someone in their parking lot that will wash your car while you're dining.  (Just remember it's not a complementary service from the restaurant. ^.~)

I love this place. This has got to be one of the best hole in the wall places that I know of. Great food, great prices, and fast service. A friend of mine took a bunch of us over there in '97 and I've been introducing new people to it ever since.
The parking isn't the best, they only take cash, they close at 8 and they charge a dollar for chips and salsa, but its definitely worth it.
