BEST.BREAKFAST.MOKENA.
Love this place. Can't say enough. What I like most about it, and don't take this the wrong way, is that it isn't a "greek" breakfast place. Their menu is more akin to rural, southern-American, than the typical fare you get at Lumes, xxxxx-berry's, etc.
The breakfast sausages are huge. The country fried steak and accompanying white gravy is excellent. Very peppery gravy, which I like.
And don't forget to look at the board for their specials. Some very interesting breakfast plates are offered! -

I visited Country Cookin' with a group of clients and coworkers for lunch on a pretty cruddy rainy fall day. The place is very casual, with a good looking breakfast menu, regular specials, and a full menu of diner food. I ordered the beef stew, since that sounded delicious on a cold day, and it came along with soup (cream of mushroom), a veggie (corn) and a potato (hash browns). Others ordered a variety of items. The food was good - nothing out of this world, but good. The beef stew had plenty of nice tender beef and veggies, but lots and lots of onion, which isn't too up my alley. Corn especially was decent, a surprise from the "cow corn" I usually expect.
Unfortunately service was very spotty and kind of slow. The regulars at the table remarked this was about the longest they had ever waited, so perhaps it was an anomaly. But the waitress also forgot something for nearly everyone at the table. One gentleman didn't get his cup of soup, one was missing his iced tea, and I never got those hash browns. A little starch would have been great to soak up the broth from the beef stew, frankly.
It's a ways from home, but I can see how it might be on the regular list when you want to avoid fast food. I probably won't end up back simply because of location. -

I have been here dozens of times and this is the first time that I have had a bad meal. I got the pork chop and three egg special with hash browns and Texas toast. The chop came out breaded and fried. Can't go wrong with that. But, yes you can. They must have had a fish fry the night before, because it tasted like a fresh catch. Yik! Everything else was fine though. No more chops for me.

This is yet another great breakfast find in Mokena. They are only opened from 6 -3 and it is crowded. Nothing fancy just a bunch of tables pushed close together. I ordered up the country fried steak and biscuits and gravy. It was great and the steak was huge. They offer many options skillets, omelets, burgers. The service and the food are great.

Haven't been here in awhile, couple years maybe, remember it as being better. Still tasty, more adequate actually. Ok if your nearby, but better places close by i.e. Blackberry's, Lumes or The Skillet House.

Great breakfast. Quick service. Huge portions. We had stayed overnight in the area, and found this place on yelp. We have now made the 2 hour trip back up there just for the breakfast.
