6 reviews for Country Club
What a great way to spend a sunny summer afternoon in NOLA.
Daiquiris, refreshing pool, getting naked and sunbathing.
A little pricey, but in a class all its own.
This place is really fantastic most of the time. I do think that paying $15 just to swim is absolutely horrid. BUT I do have a blast! My favorite memory of this place is staying out all night drinking at bars then showing up there instead of going home to sleep.
Just show up, get naked, swim a little and then take a nap under a big umbrella. It's way too easy to spend 8 hours of your day here.
The food is decent, not great, but very edible... especially when you are hung over and sucking down daiquiris.
Oh and the best part about the Country Club is all of the hot hot men, especially a few of the bartenders... mmmm
One last thing, careful using the bathrooms outside, you may get an eye-full.

This bar turned an otherwise fun and fascinating trip to NOLA into possibly the most life-altering and wonderful experience I could have asked for.
I've lived in New York for 6 years and was lucky to be down in The Big Easy for a couple of days. Some straight friends were supposed to come with me to the Country Club on Memorial Day but I ended up going by myself. I immediately felt at home when I strolled into this sun-filled mansion. Roll up to the bar, pay your dues, grab a drink and head out back to the pool.
For about 30 minutes I attempted to read the New Yorker as perhaps 200 beautiful bodies strolled, mingled and swam in the New Orleans heat, which meant of course that I was mostly managing to keep my jaw from falling to the floor. I would estimate the clientelle to be 80% gay men, 60% of whom were completely naked, 10% women and 10% straight men. This was gay heaven.
Of course the rest of the story involves the man of my dreams, several more cocktails, fried oysters, and a relatively-private romp on the deck, so maybe I'm a little biased. Regardless, don't miss this place if you are lucky enough to be in New Orleans, it might be the only pool of its kind.

Set in an old Acadian mansion, the country club is one of the most amusing gay bars I've ever had the privilege of visiting. Featuring a pool-side cocktail bar and acres of decking and deck chairs on which to sun au natural, it was all I could do not to take up permanent residence. Seriously the only place i've ever been where one can float about naked with a magarita in hand. Oh yes, and the boys are very handsome too.

It's been 3 long years since I've been to the Country Club. They just recently renovated the place with new showers, a new in-ground hottub that seats like... 15 people... and a brand new outdoor bar that was still dryinig from the lacquer.
My god.
If I still lived in NOLA, I'd be here at least once a week! This place was beauiful before the storm but the renovation now makes it even better. I love that they stay open late so you can come here for a late night naked swim after you've been eating, drinking and dancing elsewhere. Or... you can do all that here too.
Which reminds me of the fact that my boyfriend's father managed to get my 20 something roommate to go swimming naked with him at the Country Club. Must've been the booze. ;)

I love that the swimming pool is clothing optional. They even are known to throw in some fun pool toys too, and I don't mean the boys, but yeah them too... aned the frozen drinks are so yummy.. I love the parlor abd bar's adhering to the traditional style of such a homes prime (even though the wall paper was peeling... that just maske it so much more appropriate for New Orleans).
