Chris has been cutting my hair for about 9 years now. First at his previous salon, and when he moved over to this salon from Ken Paves, I moved with him. It took me a while to find someone who did a good job with my hair, but since I found Chris, I couldn't ask for a better stylist. Both me and my husband have our hair done here and will most definitely keep coming back!
Joey... Joooey Jooey Joey. I heart Joey. I purchased one of those spa package things from some guy who wandered into our office on a whim because I desperately needed a haircut and I figured the $65 would pay for the haircut, plus I would get some free deep conditioning treatments. Oh but what I got was so much more. More than money can buy, really. I got a wonderful, marvelous stylist in LA that doesn't charge an arm and a leg! Joey will listen to what you want and make it happen the best way possible for your hair. I go to him for both cuts and color. Just need a blowout? Go to Joey! Seriously, I LOVED the girl I used to go to in Lancaster (don't laugh, the girl is a genius. We can't help it we were born in a farm town!) but this is the best blowout ever. I feel like I belong on Robertson when I walk out of there. There are a million different reasons you should go to Joey, including is adorable yet snarky personality (love), but mainly go because the man will make sweet sweet love to your hair and you won't feel like you were taken advantage of when you walk out.
If you have hair...you need to go see Helena Gullstrom @ The Cottage ASAP!!! She is the only person in the whole entire world that I trust with my hair. Helena is a brilliant artist who just happens to do hair. She is so incredibly talented and creative both in the salon and in her studio at home. Also - Helena has a very fascinating life which is important if you have highlights and tint -- which I do. She can talk for hours on any subject and you will never leave her chair in a bad mood. I love Helena and so will you:)
The Cottage (located next to a Ferrari) dealership near Gregory Way and Robertson 1 or 2 blocks south of Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills is still great. As I may have mentioned that three stylists from Ken Paves salon, decided when Jordan of Jordan's Enchanted Cottage sold his business, three of the more established hairstylists started The Cottage in Beverly Hills and soon enough most of the other stylists moved to the location as Ken paves from my understanding wanted to charge US$200.00 for a man's haircut and while that may be fine for tourists whom want to visit, a salon that some actors and personalities go to, I think that in Los Angeles, my US$45.00 haircut plus gratuity, is fine for me. I still go to Elie, whom has raised the price US$5.00 in six years or so. I know what I want though and he will tell me if it is realistic, because too many times people want a hairstyle they see in a magazine (myself included, from Menswear) but it does not work with their hair. I personally like honesty, because not every hairstyle is going to work for you even though you may wish it would. The Cottage was upgraded from the former hair establishment that was in place. I believe they have a manicurist or two. It is a solid choice and they have the amenities of Beverly Hills, although I am there for the service not the amenities, that said I would not walk into a dump or someone's living room, personally. I do know that Elie has serviced clients in both the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Peninsula Beverly Hills.

Helena Gullstrom is a hair genius! I have been going to her for over 12 years now. She always knows how to cut my hair so that it is super stylish, but also low maintenance. Also, her cuts always grow out nicely- it must be her super secret Swedish training. Helena is also really friendly and down to earth. She really is like a little ball of sunshine. Even though it takes me 1-1.5 hours one way to see her, it is totally worth it every time. Definitely make an appointment with Helena at The Cottage next time you're in LA. You won't be disappointed!
