If you have a 1 bazillion cubic foot freezer, then this is the place for you.
Dont go at the weekend though or you'll end up fighting the hoards - especially in the food hall.  Have fun searching for size 34 mens underwear. Spend hours deciding which frozen burgers to purchase. Finally, for a laugh, watch all the skint people hover round the free food.

PS: Shop the website for electronics and other non-food related goods. Its alot less bover.

When I'm old and incontinent, I will buy all my depends here.
But now I just buy them here, because i have to wear them when i see all the stuff they have i just pee my pants from the excitement! Especially the electronics, jewelery, and booze!

The time I got the great deal on our trip to Vegas, pee'd me pants, the time i got the killer custom fit eco friendly wood slat blinds, pee'd ma pants, the time I got my pearls, well you know...

This is da best cosco ever because they have the forms to order all the custom items like travel, cupboards, floors and blinds. The other lame asses are like "what forms?" "there's no such thing as forms?' Were like how do you order them then? "I dunno, let me ask my manager", then disappears never to be seen again.

And when I'm hungry, well 3 words..FREE SAMPLE CITY!
Come on people aren't ALL the Costco's parking lots a nightmare??? Name one thats not!

the most simplest costco, if that makes sense.  i hate costco b/c you can spend $400 in one second and have so much junk.  I needed condoms and toilet paper.  I ended up getting pillows, toothpaste, and mouth rinse too.  I was in and out in less than 30 minutes.  In the past when I went to costco it would take forever!  Less stars because costco is not very sustainable.  You don't need that much stuff.

This isn't my regular Costco and I didn't get a chance to peruse the whole store but they looked to have a few things that my favorite Costco (Santa Cruz) doesn't have...   it's always fun for me to see what's different.   For example, when I was there they had a healthful Spanish tortilla (omelette/fritatta) with minimal, recognizeable ingredients (always a good thing).

I can make a damn fine frittata/tortilla myself but picked it up to try and it was great.   For $9.99 it's great to bring to a party, since it's good hot, cold or at room temperature... or to have as a light meal with a salad when you don't feel like cooking.   I can make my own hummos too but the new brand they're carrying (Hannah) is way better than Sabra, check it out.

Aside from that...it's Costco.  What else can you say?   It's crowded, the parking lot sucks, and don't try to get gas here at lunch or after work.  Lines for days.   I found the customer service to be friendlier than most tho... ymmv.

This Costco offers much better service than most of the other Bay Area Costco stores. Why? Because you usually get a professional response to any question, and the Warehouse Manager is a really wonderful person, who knows how to treat her members.  My guess is most of the employees at this location are pretty happy, and it's probably because the Managers care. I had an experience with an Assistant Manager named Remie, and he was really polite and professional, too. Easy Access from 880, 101 Near SJC Airport

I agree with Clyde L. - this is one of the better Costcos in the area. I find it easy to navigate when it comes to finding the items I'm shopping for. Additionally, it's relatively easy to get in and out of when I need to only make a quick stop. Weekend shopping at Costco can be crazy, but it doesn't seem like this one gets too bad.

The gas station is easily accessible, but sometimes it can get crowded. If you don't mind waiting on occasions, the price of Costco gas is very competitive.

This Costco also has an optical department, but I prefer to see the optician at the Sunnyvale location (Jason Wong - who absolutely rocks! See my previous review on this optical services).

The parking lot is a cluster fu.ck.  Seriously, it is as if all common sense and driver courtesies do not exist once you drive onto the property.  Once inside everything is well organized, the staff is very friendly, and the cashiers are speedy.

Parking lot...horror. So many people come here during Sundays. Best to come during the weekday. Majority of the customers like to buy the gas here....you'll understand why there's "traffic" in a parking lot. Lines aren't that long. Far more cleaner than the one in Blossom Hill. Less packed than the one off of Hostetter. Plus, it's the closest to my place. I enjoy the endeavor to eat as much food as I can....free samples of food! I can't pass that up. Another plus, $1.50 hot dog and soda. Gas is much cheaper than going to Shell and Chevron. Enough said.

I dig this costco because its right near where I grew up, so I have spent many hours here, and know the layout like the back of my hand.

plus: the employee turnover is very low, they are pretty quick at their jobs, and are generally friendly.

negative: Grocery items tend to ring up differently than listed. Its obviously not worth it to me to drag an employee back to the produce section to show them the tag, so I just suck it up.

I wish Costco had an express line. wouldnt that be wonderful?

pet peeve: people who wait for MULTIPLE minutes for a parking space right next to the front of the store, even tho if they went one or two lanes down, there are TONS of spaces. now I understand if you are disabled, but the vast majority of the lazy-ass people who do this are not. Costco shoppers are the worst of the worst for this bad habit. After idling impatiently behind people loading up huge amounts of groceries, they then go inside the multi-acre store and walk all over the damn place! so how do they justify wasting gas idling and blocking up traffic behind them?  seriously, the parking situation at this store and at other costcos breeds aggravation in me.

also, I can't help but wonder how much gas is wasted idling in the 10-15 minute line to get to the gas pumps here? yeah, you may save 50 cents, but was it worth it? I have a 10 gallon tank, but only at this particular station have I been able to get 11.5-12 gallons in it.

Ok, this has to be the best Costco in the Bay Area.  For once, I can get in and out without too much hassle.  I mean, it's Costco, right?!  You'll never get out completely smoothly unless it's a weekday during the day and who does that?  This location has to be BY FAR the easiest departure of all.  It's well-organized and the people do not come in here like herds, like the rest of Costco's in the area (the WORST is the one on Lawrence)---most of the people at this location pretty much get in and get out....at the Lawrence location the people like to bring tons of people with them and they hang out like it is their family activity on a weekend.  To make it clear...it's an errand, and getting groceries can be fun, but it's mostly a chore!  Ha!  That's why the Coleman location is awesome.

We had one slight disturbance when we were in line to pick up our pizza....a little lady just happened to cut right in front of us and was oblivious to what she did....there are some strange people out there.

Also...to note....purchase your food at the main registers with your regular items and it will be much more efficient in the food line!  :)

The only thing that sucks about Costco is they don't take credit cards!

The only good time to go to this place is literally 30 minutes before they close on a weeknight. The workers don't want to be there any longer than they have to and they know that your cart stands in their way. Seriously - go. You'll have awesome customer service then. Otherwise, you're just another ugly face they don't want to see.

I've only managed to browse thru the TV's. However I plan on returning in the less busier hours of the day to do some shopping. I have shopped in the Eye wear section. They have great prices on boxes of contacts. The Hot Dogs are great and inexpensive a handful of us will go by on our lunch breaks.  I look forward to returning and spending more money there.

This is one of the better Costcos in the area... I've not had any lackluster experiences here, as we usually frequent this location prior to rush hour on weekdays. Don't bother going on weekends and Fridays before holidays--you'll only end up battling it out with minivan/suv-driving people. Such people tend to park horribly on the weekends, as if they're in some sort of crazy rush, exemplified through their cart maneuvering. Anyhow, this location, I feel, is cleaner than the others. What makes it attractive is that they have a self serve gas station. Costco gas has always been cheaper than any others I have seen, including Rotten Robbie's. We'll even go out of our way to pump gas here, but it's in a fairly convenient location, only a few miles away from The Marketplace.

Anyhow, where else can you get 4lbs. of ripe strawberries for only $5.49? Or grapes to last you through the week for only $7.50?? Oh, oh, and bbq'ed ribs and rotisserie chicken for your lazy Sunday dinners?

I have a hate/tolerate relationship with Costco.
I went to buy a case of wine and they had the box cut half open.

Long queues with many unopened registers = contempt for customers

I then requested a non cut open wine box and they could not helpt me out.

Typical Costco.  It's not as crowded as the one on Senter, nor are your fellow customers as dangerous with their carts as with the customers at the Senter location.

Coming here on weeknights is pretty decent as the lines don't get too ridiculous.

For future reference, ordering pizzas on Super Bowl Sunday will take up to 45 minutes to get to you.  I thought they'd stockpile a bunch of take-n-bakes, but all they had left were the Mozzarella, tomato, and basil ones left.  I wanted to consume massive amount of meat on Super Bowl Sunday and I'd be damned if I were caught with anything less.

This one has a gas station.

Items are stocked pretty well.

I love overstocking on anything...LOL...

I have a membership here with my mom, and I seemed to have misplaced my card, and they renewed it on the spot!  Very friendly staff.

When I came here, it was still new, so there weren't any lines and parking was easy to find.

I have eaten the food here, if you want to shop and eat here, make sure to pay for your food when you are in line for your products, so you won't have to fall back in line again.

I would come back here for my baby's diapers, baby wipes, toilet paper, papertowel, q-tips...etc...

I have issue with all of the Costco parking lots, but this one seems be better than the other local ones. It seems so much roomier, cleaner and brighter, too. Even though I had some fish tacos an hour or so before coming to this Costco, I had to get a polish sausage. It was nice because the guy prepared the bun and dog after we ordered, instead of the usual pre-prepared roll. Too bad this place isn't conveniently located, or else I'd come here more often.

This is one of the BEST Costco's I've ever been to. Great customer service and really understanding staff. Sure, the lines can be long (as is any other Costco on this planet), but it doesn't help that customers go back and forth to go and get stuff they forgot to grab before-hand. Also, when will people figure out to clip their darn Costco coupons before they get to the register while they're waiting in line?? I agree with the other review about returns, no hassle whatsoever. I had great customer service in tires last weekend and they even helped me out with the coupon that came out 2 days after I purchased the tires! KUDOS guys, keep up the great work! :)

Costco is great - if all I had in the world was Ebay and Costco I would be great. LMAO - ok okok okok, only in regards to shopping for things I need. I couldn't replace a real bakery or a real bookstore or a real restaurant with this place, but for almost all my other needs it has no comparison.

Did I mention the hot dogs. Yeah BABY!

Yes, parking and line at register sucks, totally.

But I've renewed my membership for the 4th year for various reasons...
- Hotdog and a soft drink deal for $1.62 include tax
- Gas is usually 10-20 cents cheaper than the usual gas station
- Pretty good cheese selections
- limited selection but new released books (paperbacks) are like $6
- NUTS!! Walnuts, almonds and what have you... a huge bag, good deal
- meats, especially tri tips.

Probably I don't shop here enough to make the most of the cost of the annual membership but I come here and look around for interesting things to buy. I get holiday cards, ribbons, some candies for Christmas, ornate grape vine lights, oh I got my queen size matress and box set, TV etc when I moved. But you just need to arrange your own means to move those crap. I could not put the mattress and box sets on the top of my sedan, so I needed arrange a shopping day with my friend's husband who has a huge truck.

Just go there during the lunch time or Friday night before closing (8:40ish)... line is a little better.

That was my question for 30 minutes.... reminds me of the OSH ads lost in the isles.

Dinner for two was a chicken bake with a hot dog and soda for $4.95. You can't beat that!
The pizza isn't bad either and I love their nonfat swirl yogurt.

We buy pretty much everything here. Toilet paper, tissue, paper towels, detergent, salad, fruit, seafood, meat, rotisserie chicken, and their frozen food. The cakes and pastries are good too. Everytime there's an office function, it's Costco cake. Breakfast- Costco muffins. You can always please the masses.

I got my glasses there too. Less than $200 with reduction, scratch coating and everything. Free adjustments too.
The reduction however is not that much and I have had thinner lenses from other optometry places. Contacts available as well. They take some insurance, call to find out which.

Like everyone else mentioned, parking can be crappy and the lines can be a mess.

I love this store! They have everything you could possibly need, in quantities you'll never use up, but there are some things that I can only get at Costco and for that, I will find the space to put this stuff.

First, if you aren't buying your gasoline at Costco, what are you waiting for? The prices are about $0.20 less than the cheapest Rotten Robbie I can find. They only sell Regular and Premium (no mid-grade) and it's all no-frills service, but that's what keeps the lines moving. Even if the lines are huge, they move quickly, so don't be discouraged.

As for products in the store that I love: uncooked tortillas (in the fridge section), Carnitas (in the fridge section), brownie bites (not in the bakery section but w/ other packaged baked goods), fresh fruits, Morton's tri-tip (fridge section). OK, the list can go on and on.

For some things, like medicines and pantry food items, check to see if it's *really* a better deal vs the grocery store. Sometimes it's not.

Okay, let me start out by saying people should not go to this Costco, ever....
Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I can say that this Costco is less crowded than the one in nearby Sunnyvale. The basic rules for all Costcos apply. Go Monday-Thursday to avoid crowds, but weekends have the free food samples if you want to dine there.
I had a lot of trouble finding anyone to tell me where anything was. If you are looking for something specific, I find it less troublesome to just go aisle-by-aisle. I always find something there I did not know Costco carries. If you see something you like, get it. There stock comes in and goes out quickly. They have only a few items year-round.
Costco is not cheap. You have to buy in bulk, so the price per unit cost is more than surpassed by the fact that you have to buy a billion of anything at one time. It is great to go with a pal and split things like bathroom tissue and paper towels. Their flowers, however, are a steal! If you do not need a vase, get your flowers at Costco.
There is always a long ling for gasoline, but their members-only price is better than the market rate.
It is membership-only shop. In terms of plastic, they only take American Express credit cards or ATM cards.
sibani's sexy tip of the day: It makes things go faster if you have your bar codes facing the checker.

I love my local Costco. I always end up buying something here every time I go! Whether it be Gatorade, late night snacks, frozen foods, fruit, pastries, anything...only in bulk though. It's good and it's bad that it's in bulk. 1. It's cheap...however it'll take me forever to finish the item so sometimes I end up tossing left over stuff or I'll get tired of it fast. I like to get my shopping done on less busier days during the week. You're just going to kill yourself if you go on the weekend because it's crazy busy. You can't also forget the super cheap gas and food. My friend who works at Costco told me they have people drive around gas stations looking for the cheapest gas price and then they set their price at the cheapest and knock off a couple cents. The food..wow, polish sausages are bomb. $1.50 for that and a drink. Berry smoothies for $1.35..churros for $1.00..pizza for $1.99? Yogurt swirl for $1.25, berry sundae for $1.55, and chicken bake for $2.69? No tax? This is a bargain hunter's dream (or a broken college student's)!

I don't hate that Costco makes you buy 5 times what you normally need in order to get a good deal.  Volume is how they get their prices down.

I don't hate that I have to maneuver around the long lines of people who get all four of their food groups in one outing by gorging at the free food stands.  Fuckers gotta eat, I guess.

I don't hate that they just changed their return policy so you can no longer return your 3 year old TV for full value so you can upgrade to the latest plasma display.  People were abusing the shit out of that return policy.

I don't even hate that the lines are longer than at the DMV and move at a glacial pace.  They can't help that they have so many customers.

What KILLS me about going to Costco is that after enduring all of the above, I have to once again wait in line to GET OUT of there because they have sentries posted at the exit to verify my receipt vs. the items I've purchased.

To top it off, they have this patronizing ass sign right there that explains they do it because they want to ensure that they've not made any mistakes in ringing up the customer.  Here's another way to prevent checkout errors - train your employees better!

Give me a break.  Don't try to spin it like something you are doing for MY BENEFIT.  Fuck you.  Want to do something for my benefit?  Quit making me wait in line!!

One of the better Costco's.  It's pretty convenient for Santa Clara and San Jose people since it's near the airport down Coleman, which tends to have zero traffic.

It has a big parking lot and feels bigger than most locations.  I think it's because I don't think I've ever been when it's super crowded.  you can go after a long day's work and there won't be more than 4-5 people in any line. (speaking of which, have you ever just wanted Costco to have an express lane?   Come on, how many times have you gone in only buying one to three items?  I can't believe they still haven't done something about that.)

For the most part this Costco is well laid out, however if the lines were to get long, it does get a bit cramped as the DVD/book section and supplement aisles are a bit close to the lines.

This location does have gas as well, however I feel it could be laid out a bit better.    The one lane exit can be annoying if lots of people are leaving at the same time, and  the backup can cause blockage for other entering the lot and just wanting to park.

No one better be talking any smack about MY COSTCO!! J/K
Everyone likes it and so do I. this is my favorite place to kill and hour or so. It's like opening the fridge every ten minutes at home hoping something new will be in it. Costco has for the most part the same stuff but it's high quality stuff. Their buyer chooses their products well I think. Even the Kirkland (Costco's name brand) is really good quality. The meat section has the best meats and at good prices. Of course if you drive to five different supermarkets with coupons in hand you might find some better deals but you can get a good price on everything at this one store!!! The only Costco I like more than this one is the one in Honolulu and that's because it has local Hawaiian food there.

Hint: Go during weekday afternoons from 2-4 or when they first open at 10am and you won't have to wait in a long line.

We were throwing a farewell party for a friend that was moving to New York to pursue a masters degree.  I was in charge of food.  I had purchased everything for the party but the day of noticed that I was missing a few things:  party favors and olive oil.  Where do I go?  Costco, of course!  Everyone knows that you can't walk out of Costco with less than two things, so I also picked up some bananas for the week.  I was giggling the whole way up to the checkout.

It was a Sunday morning, and I was carrying:

-  a gallon of olive oil
-  a $1.09 bunch of bananas
-  a 40 pack of Trojan-brand condoms

Good times.

PS  the condoms went into red envelopes and were given away as "good luck" favors for people attending the party.  ;-)

This is a pretty good Costco. It has a gas station that has the best gas prices in San Jose and is easy to get to from 101 and 880. It is always well stocked with great deals on household basics like TP, tissue, cleaning products, laundry products, trash bags, personal care products, common over the counter medicines. They also have good deals beer, wine and liquor and sometimes on foods that you'll consume a lot of or last a long time (since they're huge packages intended for resale).

On the downside, the parking lot isn't big enough for such an oasis of savings in San Jose and it can get horribly crowded inside with long, long lines. I think the lines wouldn't bother me as much if there was some kind of order established by the staff to make it clear where people should go to establish a line, where the ends of the lines are and prevent cutting - intentional and unintentional.

How much do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
1.50 for a hot dog and soda.
1.50 for a pizza and soda
5.47 cents for two sodas, two hot dogs and a slice of pizza

I had my Valentines Day dinner here. It was the best that 1.50 could buy. I feel bad for those chumps who spent $150 on some fancy stuff and still went to Costco after wards for more food.

This Costco is close to Santa Clara U. 880 and 101 freeways. What is there not to love about this place? They have Gas, a case of jumbo diapers and this is the premier pace to get a 5 gallon bucket of Kikoman Soy sauce.

I went today to pick up my contacts (cheap, got here in a week, yay!) and they also adjusted my glasses that I did not buy at Costco (thank you!).  Per husband's request I picked up two sodas and two hotdogs on the way out (3.25 total, he's a cheap date).  In and out in 15 minutes.  My secret?  I have an executive card!  I get in early!  It's worth the money and I get a rebate at the end of the year that usually covers the cost of the card.  When I'm working and not on vacation having the executive card doesn't help because I can't go in the mornings weekdays, but on vacation days like today it's a blessing.

On non-early days parking sucks.  It's best to come in the evening about an hour before they close and skip the food court, or at least prepay at the register.

I totally agree that people lose all semblance of sanity as soon as they walk in the door.  Tiny samples of chicken nuggets...they'll run over their own children to grab one.  People stop in the middle of the aisles, don't look where they are going, but then again, how different is this from how these people drive?  Not much, I'm guessing.

I'm pissed they don't sell the pita bread anymore, I really liked that.  Usually I find the other stuff I'm looking for.  The flowers are first-rate; they last a long time and are easy to arrange, and the price can't be beat.  Sometimes there are really good deals on makeup, I've bought Smashbox and Opi products at good prices.

Edited to add:  extra "yay" for Costco; I left my card at the optical counter and they will mail it instead of making me drive back there to get it.  Hurrah!

Nice Costco set up off Coleman.  Seems like parking is not a big issue.  Clean store with the bulk buys, samples, crazy things you never knew you needed until you saw them here.

It's commercial consumerism at its best. Nice place!

I love Costco! This is my fav place to shop and grab a good bite to eat.  The polish dogs are delish, the pizza slices are ginormous, and you can buy what you need in bulk, whats not to like?!  The lines are long but its well worth it to get the things you need that will last a while. The only bad thing in my opinion is that they only accept cash/debit or American Express, which sucks if you want to put it on a Visa, because here you can't. Going here saves you money and keeps you out of your local market a couple times a week. I always look forward to Costco but I always leave spending too much, but then I'm set for a long time!

I love Costco. I'll even go on the weekends and walk around so I can find things to buy that I don't really need. I love finding items that are seasonal or that aren't usually carried. Because of their liberal return policy, I often buy something I don't need and end up keeping it because I love it so much. This particular warehouse is large, so they have a nice selection of items.

This location has picture development and gas. Gas lines can get pretty long, so I recommend going off-hours. Gas is typically 15 - 20 cents cheaper here than any other place you go to - often more if you go to a high priced station. The Photo Center here is great - you can order online, and pick up and pay right at the Photo Center without waiting in the long lines.

Their prepared food is great too. You can't go wrong with any of their selections, and they are all huge in portion size and cheap.

Costco and I have a love/hate relationship.  I love Costco because they have really really good prices on alot of things.  There contacts and booze is soooo much cheaper than anywhere else! They also have good deals on frozen foods but everything comes in large sizes and theres only 2 of us.

So what I hate about Costco is that it is always soo sooo sooo crowded.  I can never find parking. I also hate the lines - everytime I go there are so many loooong lines and when I only have 1 thing in my hand I normally wont wait.

The return policy is the best by far!

$1.50 hotdog and soda? Dayum! A soda alone at some places are already a dollar, and you're getting a choice if you want a polish dog or a hotdog? Deals galore? I also get me a slice of combo pizza  when I get the hotdog and soda combo. It totals to $5.47. One word...wow!

And lets say if you don't have money that day...but you're pretty hungry...you just simply get in with your costco card, and fill up on the samples! The secret is to say that you're witha a gang of family members, and you're getting samples for them. When they start cutting up the items for you, you tell them "its ok just leave it whole, we'll just bite it" scandalousness at its best!

You can find me here atleast once a week getting a hotdog and pizza combo meal for my lunch break.
