Good place for lunch. Went here on my lunch break and was pleased with what I ordered. The chips and salsa that they give you when you first sit down were soooo good! I got the burrito mojado on the lunch menu and it was very tasty; I don't usually like rice and beans served with a burrito but I finished my whole plate. Will come here again.

Good local family restuarant with good seafood ceviches and cocktails. I also like the menudo on weekends. Best of all the dos equis dark on tap at happy hour.
I think this place used to be an "Islands" restaurant at one point because they have a lil tiki hut inside w/ surfboards and stuff. hahah
Anyway the first thing I ever tried from this place was the ceviche pescado...& it is sooooo good!!! It comes in a tostado bowl and the seafood is really fresh! I went here for lunch a few weeks ago w/ mi familia and we all ordered different lunch combinations..there was so much food on my plate that I couldn't even finish it! You get a choice of soup or salad & there's a heap of rice and beans that comes w/ your combo plate. I had the carne asada tacos..& it was really tasty!
With appetizers, drinks, and 5 full combination plates for a party of 5 it was only about $40...not bad for everything that you get!

I've driven by this place a hundred times. I work just down the street. But today was the first time I actually went inside. It looks a lot like an Islands Restaurant, but instead of burgers it's Mexican food.
I scanned the menu looking for something that's not too cheesy. I decided on the carnitas with no cheese on the refried beans. They deep fried it and served it with all the fixins. The meal was okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough to be considered good. Maybe if the carnitas wasn't deep fried I would've liked it better.
Because this place is so close to my work, I'm not ready to write this restaurant off just yet. I'll order something else next time and edit my review accordingly. Maybe I'll try the ceviche that Ria A. wrote about. =)

This review is based solely on their ceviche pescado because that's all I've ever tried here. My coworkers and I go here strictly for the ceviche at least once a week. It's super tasty and fresh. The best part is it's only $4.99 for a full plate of fish ceviche with 2 tostadas. The ceviche tastes even better topped with the salsa. They serve it up super quick too.
