Great place to buy ethnic foods and snacks as well as unique beverages that you probably wouldn't find elsewhere. I visit at least once a week and I always buy a ton of snacks and drinks. There's nothing like coming home to a cool sparkling juice or apple cider. I love it!
The staff is helpful and nice and sometimes there are great deals and sales at Cost Plus, making it the place to be. I've only been here for food items and I would say they are fairly priced. It's definitely a place to see some unique items.

This is the only place to shop in Davis and consequently, many a gift is bought from here. They've got a great selection of everything and often have sales which can get to be a problem if you don't watch it.

I rarely come out of here without purchasing something. I love all the snacky foods and ethnic spices. This is also where I purchase wines.

Besides the food, everything else is fun to play with and sometimes the sales are good!

How could you not love this place.   I always see middle aged/old ladies come in and out of here.  I'll see the occasional student, but usually it's all adults.  It feels like a store for the mature people.  I mean, buying wine instead of beer.  Gourmet chocolate instead of Twix bars, ok wait, they have those there too.  Well, they have a bunch stuff that would be great for presents.  Wine, candles, spa sets, they got it all.  And it's always fun just walking around the place.  You'll find a lot of interesting things, and a great international section too.  If you're bored, go check it out.  You'll be surprised at what you fine.

I was happy to see Cost Plus come to Davis.  I once was challenged to cook a kick-ass fish dish for a brand new love interest and Cost Plus saved me!  I spotted a recipe for whitefish with red curry and coconut milk in that month's issue of Cook's Illustrated and set about picking up the requisite ingredients.  The hardest one to find was the red curry paste... I looked everywhere I could think of in Davis while the clock was ticking down to my command performance.  My honey-bunches-of-oats upped the stakes at the last minute, announcing she was bringing her girlfriend so that she could "show me off" and prove that I was a rare find indeed... a man who could really cook.

So after freaking out and leaving work a bit early, I made another vain attempt at finding Red Curry paste at Safeway while getting more fish.  Finally, on my way home I thought to check Cost Plus.  They had it!  I cooked the finest fish dinner I had ever tasted and got raves and compliments from my two female guests.

The next day, Shorty and I consummated our first nooner.  I spent the rest of the day at work exhausted and lovedrunk.

That rendezvous was hard fought and won, but I couldn't have done it without Cost Plus World Market!

What I like about this place is that there are some pretty good cheap finds.  I've bought excellent candles, snack foods, and pasta sauces here for really good prices. And I enjoy sitting in their leather display couches.

It's a great place to shop for drinks or snacks to bring to parties, gifts or gift ideas, or if you're just window shopping (since there's a lot to look at).  If you haven't been inside, you should - just to look at all the stuff they sell there.

And yay for an international selection of cheap and delicious wine, beer, and coffee (the three main food groups).  Another reason to go there - sometimes there are coffee samples available.

PS. The service is always great too and I like the open layout of the store.

Best place to buy wine in Davis. The prices are GREAT and they have a pretty large selection from all over the place. The sales are also great, making it easy to try new wines. The staff is great with recommendations and seem to know their wine.

The beer selection is smaller, but they also have some of the best prices and beer from different countries. I like it that they sell single bottles of beer. It allows me to buy many different kinds. I always have a hard time choosing on a six pack, so the single bottles are a wonderful answer for me.

Aside from the alcohol, this is also a nice place to find a gift in Davis. Great for weddings, Christmas, Birthdays, and the such. Pretty much the one stop shop.

I also never leave without a german candy.

Love their selection of stuff...

Bought body butter that smells heavenly and feels like it too.

Great selection of coffees, teas, and liquor...

While shopping for stocking stuffers for my boyfriend, I was completely lost in their beer section (major plus for having single bottles, btw), the staff was very knowledgeable, asking questions to narrow down the selections (uh...I think my boyfriend likes hops?) in steering me towards local beers I know he hasn't tried.

To recap: great selection, great staff, great prices. I'll be back.
