Gone but certainly not forgotten. The best martinisssssss I've ever had *starting to tear up a bit sorry* The food was great and ambience was classic. There will never be another. A chic little place like one would find in Sex and the City. Baltimore has lost a great restaurant.
Does anyone out there in Yelpland know of a good martini bar with delish food and nice atmosphere?!!! #desperate -

Stop #2 on my Baltimore adventure and it was excellent.
Cosmo's is on a lively strip in Canton with lots of bars and eateries to choose from. Don't let images of Carrie Bradshaw influence whether or not you step in to the Cosmopolitan Bar and Grill. Also, don't let your head swim when you look at the drink menu. Your head will be sufficiently flooded after consuming a few of the well-made libations.
With a group of five, we snagged a high top by the bar and dove in to the menu. I had two martini's - the Raventini (grape concoction) and a Pomegranate Martini. Both were excellent. The Hothouse Orange is awesome, freshly squeezed tangerine juice with vodka is ultra refreshing. The only "miss" at the table was the Macintosh martini. A little too sweet for my liking.
As for food, everything was great. We ordered the warm antipasti which was the entree Cioppino minus the linguine. Muscles, clams, calamari and large shrimp are combined in a tasty red sauce and crusty bread that can easily serve as a full meal. Tuna Tartar rocked. Super fresh and well seasoned with chopped mint leaves. Interesting combination that really worked. The third appetizer we ordered was Lollipop Lamb Chops. Served appropriately in a martini glass filled with mint jelly, the chops were well seasoned. But pretty small in size. Good for one or as a lighter app for two.
We also ordered the Lobster Cardinale for the table. Large portion that could easily feed two. Great to share with five :-) Tender chunks of lobster with the tasty sauce tasted more like a light tomato and cheese sauce. I can still taste it today. In a happy flashback kind of way. -

Wow, I'm not sure how I can be the first person to Yelp about this place when I don't even live in Baltimore. Went here with a few friends who are local. Overall, I would give the drinks a 4 and the food a 3 - - that all adds up to a soft 3 stars. I had penne arrabiatta, which was okay but not particularly tasty. However, the two cocktails I had were both well made and quite tasty. Our waitress was kind enough to walk us through the menu and point out that they made a few traditional drinks (the sidecar in particular) using different ingredients than your standard bartender's guide would suggest.
Overall, I think most of the drinks are good. My friends deviated a bit off the beaten path a few times and were sorely disappointed. The chocolate martini got rave reviews, as did the manhattan. Play it safe and you won't be disappointed. -

We came here for a drink on a Saturday night. It maybe wasn't as crowded as you would expect (some of the other places around here were so packed you couldn't move). I assume that the drink to get here is a cosmopolitan. I've never heard of a Cosmo bar before. A martini bar, definitely, and maybe even a whiskey bar, but a Cosmopolitan bar? I don't even like Cosmopolitans, so I don't know why I would go to a Cosmopolitan bar.
I got a beer, a Blue Moon (which seemed like the only decent thing on their tap). I know, what am I doing drinking beer at a Cosmopolitan Bar? Overall, the ambiance was fine - more of a place to hang out with a few close friends than to meet people. -

Be forewarned: if you can score one, bring a designated driver! The martinis served at Cosmopolitan, a small yet charming martini bar, are not only delicious, scrumptuous creations but are also served strooong. Additionally, unlike some places that skimp on size, this place has good sized martini glasses.
Even if, like me, you don't particularly like key lime pie, do yourself a favor and sample their key lime martini. This impressive drink is well balanced, limey yet sweet, milky but not creamy (so you could put away a few and have room for apps); as a further bonus, the sides of the glass are coated with graham cracker...mmmmm! I would also highly recommend the chunky monkey with banana liquor. For non-creamy drinks, try the razzmopolitan.
The place is very small so arrive early in the evening or on a weekday as it gets packed fast. A weekend trip may well prove disappointing, not only for the stuffiness due to crowds but especially if you get seated in its unimpressive upstairs area. Prime seats are in their cozy front near the huge windows at the bar stool/table area.
(Though I have eaten here before and liked the food, the Liberatore's association and the Italian food theme may be new so this review was based on the drinks without commentary on the food that could have changed.) -

Cosmo's is in Canton Square. It's the only "swank" place in the square so it seems to attract the shi shi crowd. The martinis are good, but not excellent. Is a bit small and crowded. In the summer it gets hot inside. Should be a stop on a Canton Pub Crawl.

Perfect for the start of a bachelorette party. Yep. Girly shots and girly drinks. It was packed and I could not imagine having a meal here; way too loud for that. Stick with drinks and dash out to somewhere else for dancing and more mayhem.
