To give my great look a finishing touch, the shoes have to look great. This is were I go to keep my "Shoemelda" status in check: to have very clean, shiny, and well maintained foot wear, since these puppies are not cheap.
Nelson here really knows his stuff and this place has been open for years. Give them a try to have shoes that gleam and remember, people do judge you by the appearance of your footwear! 4.0 stars:-)!!
First time I come to this place to fix my shoes heel, I wasn't really satisfied with the results, but the second time I bring my shoes, I was pretty happy!
So since then,I bring all my shoes that need to be repair to this place.
What also cool about this place is so close and convenient for me.
Last night, I pick up beautiful knee high my boots, and see that they were doing a good job to fix the heels! Cool!
And one other cool thing that I want to mention about this place, the owner always playing a good music whenever I went there!
Good taste with all that Jazz!
I brought a bunch of heels here. With one pair, the heel was totally off & they fixed it beautifully. The other pairs just needed new tips on the heels. I haven't brought boots there so not sure about that, but I was very happy with the pairs of heels they fixed. Not cheap but worth it if you love your shoes.
Corrective Shoes may not be the not the cheapest shoe repair outlet -except for a walk-in shine, which is a steal at $3.50 - but they are by far the best value I've found.
In my experience (at least 3 re-soles plus numerous shines) they do good work, and stand behind it, willing to re-do something at no extra charge. Turn-around time seems competitive.
Nelson, the manager, is knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to discuss options and pricing.
Try finding a local dry cleaner (which sends out its shoe-repair work to who-knows-where) that will do any of that!
One note: as of Spring 2008, they've cut back their hours. Monday is now the only day they're open until 7pm (Tues - Sat until 3pm).
I'm kind of a cheap person and tend not to have the most elegant stuff, but I do happen to have one incredible pair of boots, handcrafted of fine Italian leather. These boots are the most expensive item I own to clothe myself, so in getting them fixed, I would only trust them with the best. Nelson and company at Corrective Shoe Repair know their shit, and not only did they re-sole my boots well but they also conditioned and shined them without me asking - the boots look better now than they did when I first bought them! The only reason why I did not plug in five stars is because of the price (but really, you DO get what you pay for here!) and because it took over a week (but I can't totally fault them on that either - there was a line of people when I dropped off AND picked up the boots), and finally, the hours aren't the most convenient - they close at 3 every day except Monday. For simple heel tips, I might go elsewhere with a cheaper price and faster turn-around.
Forgot to say on my other review...the hours they're open are very strange...I can never remember them. So call before you go.

They do a very good job, but be prepared. If you want the entire shoe or bag refurbished, you have… Read more »
Very knowledgeable and efficient shoe repair service. They will fix almost anything made of leather.
Corrective Shoe repair fixes the president's shoes too. No bargain though. You do pay for the best.
Best shoe repair I've found in the city. Not the least expensive but I'm not afraid to entrust quality things to them. For heel tips I might go to the local places but for serious repairs this is the place to go!
