Amazing care and quality is put into everything they do here. Great coffe and great food. I don't live anywhere near here, but I try to stop by here when ever I'm in the area. Very friendly and comfortable environment as well.

I LOVE Corona's!! Its very mom and pop-y, and I absolutely love that in a coffee shop nowadays. I usually order a smoothie, which, if you're in a hurry, I wouldn't advise, because it will take them at least 4 minutes to even start to make it. But its so worth the wait, believe me. I have tried 2 sandwiches, the turkey sandwich somethin... it was okay. As well as the artichoke/zucchini(I think)/avocado focaccia--absolutely delicious!! The focaccia bread alone was to die for (and I don't use "to die for" often) and just everything prepared within the sandwich was so apatite filling. A friend of mine was with me and got a latte there, she was not happy with it, but espresso can be a funny thing at times. Could've just been her particular drink, I'm stickin with my smoothies.
It's nice to take a break from starbucks every once in awhile. Very quaint, homey little joint.
I didn't care too much for their chai tea latte, which I thought would be 2 dollars considering the sign outside that said Any Latte Any Size for 2 dollars.....but I was hosed. =( I got charged the regular price. Maybe if I showered I would have been given a discount.
Walking by this place is always entertaining because there is a hair salon next door with huge photo displays of nasty cheesy hair cuts and bad dye jobs.
They seem pretty popular for brunch and lunchtime. Though I have yet to dine in, they have little pastries by the counter and pre-made salads and such in a little deli window.
The food takes time because it's not made in an assembly line, and they are prepared when you order them. I ordered a 12" panini to share with my wife, and they've prepared it sliced into six pieces and gave us two finger plates and forks -- definitely a thoughtful touch you won't get at a Quizno's type place.
I actually wandered here because Alhambra (two doors down to the east -- an EXCELLENT place) was not yet open for lunch today and I was starving. Thank goodness!
Although they're very different atmosphere, the way that the owner/cashier/cook/server handled the customers reminded me of Cafe Ballou -- a good thing in my book. There are only five tables and a small sofa, so it's probably a bit intimidating to linger a whole afternoon, but it's definitely a cozy place with warm, comfortable ambiance and great service.

I LOVE Corona's and miss having it as my neighborhood hang out. I'm not usually one to just "hang" somewhere for hours, but Corona's was the site of many a term paper being written. There are just so many good reasons to go there.
The food and coffee are excellent. Especially for lunch, the sandwich platters were always very tasty and generously portioned. Their breakfast choices (egg-related) were also surprisingly good given the size and kind of "hole-in-the-wall" feel. I never had a bad cup of coffee there. However, if you're stopping in for lunch and you need a soda beware: no fountain and canned soft-drinks there are pricey. Just get something else, okay? Their pastries and sweets are also worth it.
My favorite part of this place were the owners and people working there. After awhile they personally got to know me and I always felt like I was walking into a remote version of my living room. Especially in that neighborhood that is yuppie central, this was a welcome change of pace. It is small but I never felt cramped or uncomfortably close in there. It was like sitting in my mom's kitchen.
I need to stop in and say "hola" soon.

Cute little shop. The owner was SO nice and attentive. I had the veggie foccacia( I have to stop eating these, I really do not think I Iike them in general, but I keep trying them) and it was just ok. I guess it gets 3 stars from me for the friendly service and the atmosphere. Their selection of coffees is extensive...I will go back to try their caffe au lait. I became addicted to it in Vietnam and if it's any good I may have to revise my rating.
I am sort of in-love with this place. It's unpretentious, a little bit of a hole in the wall, but clean and comfy. I'm addicted to their smoothies, and I almost always have to get an egg/cheese wrap with potatoes on the side.
Their service is super-polite and once I was like 20 cents short, and they said not to worry about it. See, nice. It's too bad I usually only go here when I'm going to the doctor--I do not want to associate them with pain. Many an Onion article was read and/or snarked here by me in the past 3 years or so.
I call dibs on one of the stuffed chairs in the corner.
Coffee is good, but there's not much room to plant oneself here -- a few two-tops and that's about it. This is probably a great place to grab a coffee to go, but I wouldn't recommend it for a protracted study session. Free wifi, no outlets that I can see.

Not a bad sandwich option and in the neighborhood you are fairly limited, so that is a bonus. My review is actually for 3.5 stars. The portions are perfect and the sandwiches and pasta salad are pretty outstanding. The Italian panini is quite good as well as the wrap version.
It is very small but it does feature a tiny outdoor cafe in the summer (although busy Irving Park Rd is hardly the spot you want to sit outdoors, directly across from a hospital) the service is slow and they get your order wrong occasionally. It's not too expensive but not cheap either (about $8 per person) not a bad addition to the neighborhood though

So far this is my favorite coffee shop in this neighborhood.
It's great because I don't get the feeling the owners went into a Starbucks and said "here is my buisness model" and decided to open a coffee shop.
Great sandwhiches, good coffee, and whats this? A decent bagel on the northside of Chicago?

So, I like my coffee. Sue me!
Again, a great independent coffee house that serves yummy treats and has an outstanding coffee selection. Not to mention tasty!
Its cozy, cozy with a dash of cozy. In the market for a Latin influenced knick-knack? No worries, you can find one at Corona's.
They were open on Thanksgiving mornig last year! Triple word score for helping to cure my hangover.

I have walked past this place probably hundreds of times on my way to and from the red line, and I finally decided to stop in! I love this place! They have a really great "Big Italian" sub, which was to die for! The prices are reasonable, and I will definitely be back here in a neighborhood with only Subway and Quizno's to choose from in terms of "fast" food. The guy who took my order was also really friendly. Great atmosphere too.

This coffee shop is great evidence as to why independent shops should still be around. My lunch partner and I enjoyed a nice, relaxing, cozy lunch; she had the avocado sandwich and raved about the bread. I had the falafel wrap. We shared a strawberry-banana smoothie and a drink, each, for $18 (including tip).
Tip: try the smoothies. Really, they're great!

Cozy, relaxing, and laid back describes this little coffee/sandwich shop located just east of Sheridan on Irving Park. In fact, if I wasn't such a Yelp fanatic, I wouldn't write a review about this place in order to keep it the way it is.
I had the Italian sub b/c I wanted to compare it to Bari Foods. Bari is tough to beat, and while Coronas wasn't quite as good, it was good enough to warrant 4 stars from me. I like that the sandwiches come with a nice side of pasta salad with a balsamic based dressing and red and yellow peppers topped with parmesean cheese. This is a nice touch compared to most places that serve greasy chips or fries.
I will be back real soon to try the panini and foccacia sandwiches, as I live right down the street. As for the subs, go with the 6"...the 12" is overboard big time.

Where are all the people!?
I stopped in Sunday afternoon on my way home from the train and this quiet, cozy shop was empty! (granted it was a tad bit warm in there)...It was a bit overcast...
Free Wi-Fi...a great little shop a stone's throw from the Sheridan Red line. Great coffee bar, smoothies, iced tea...the service was friendly.
Chairs and tables were comfy, a great place to come study or read...quiet and non-commercial. (read: people aren't zipping in/out with garganutuan levels of caffiene with a crazed look in their eyes).
Go! Before it gets crowded ;)

Coronas is simply great. I Have been here so many times that i can't even remember how many. In the neighborhood there are limited options for something close and fairly quick. So I hadn't been here in awhile and chose to go in yesterday. I chose the avocado veggie wrap with the pasta(which is really yummy & it's with whole grain pasta!) It's like a summer pasta with pieces of peppers, onions, tomatos, vinegar & topped with shredded parmesan. I love this place because it's small and homely and the music matches the atmosphere. Their breakfast is on point as well. The employees are very friendly and I believe it is a family owned place. I love it. I have never been disappointed. The Products are Always fresh and for you coffee drinkers they have a wide selection of drinks. I usually just grab a tea` I Highly recommend for a weekend breakfast without the big crowds for you & your mate, or a nice quiet lunch. Check em' out`

I suspect they put addictive drugs in their wraps - I go through wrap withdraws. Their smoked turkey wrap might be best in the city and the chipotle wrap is just as delicious.
The shop itself is small and well lit with reasonably comfortable chair and table sets. The WiFi is free but was a little unstable. A great place to grab some grub with a newspaper or book. (You might want to bring some headphones too, one of the baristas talks incredibly loud)
Did I tell you the wraps are really tasty?

I found this coffee shop via yelp and it's exactly as described by the other reviews! I got the egg wrap with cheese ($3.99) and it was really really good and so filling that I took half of it home! I also got an iced coffee, and I'm really picky about coffee, and it was great! The middle aged hispanic women speak really loud spanish behind the counter, but other then that they were very friendly and helpful! I'll be back!

Tomato foccacia bread sandwiches! Wow. And subs and wraps. Super nice staff, soymilk for coffee. And their coffee is delicious! They're closer than you think, right around the corner from the CTA's Sheridan Red line stop and even street parking is easy.

My favorite sandwich place next to Hero's. That's saying a lot. Pasta or chips with your choice of many delish sandwiches are complimentary. The staff is so nice and they bring the food out to you. I really like the fresh-squeezed orange juice as well.

Cool Uptown / Wrigleyville coffee joint, Irving Park just south of the Sheridan El stop. FREE WiFi! Great coffee good prices, about 25% cheaper than starbucks, wifi is free, and free wifi is good.
They also have a great menu of Wraps, Panini, Stuffed Tomato Foccaci, and Sub Sandwiches, all reasonably priced $5-$7.

First time eating here and I was impressed. I may be partial because I am broke at the moment and they are right near my new apartment. But for under $6 I got a LARGE grilled portabella sandwich that was awesome and it came with cubed and pan fried potatoes on the side. They have outdoor seating and free internet. I will be back to try the smoothies soon. Also an array of coffee drinks, sweets, and a diverse sandwich menu with an emphasis on mediterranean ingredients.
If you are looking for a quick bite for a modest price that tastes like homemade head to Coronas. Also PLENTY of parking.
