This is still the best bargain in all of California if not the US.
They recently raised the walk on rate from $25 to $30 and got rid of the yearly pass which was something like 950 or so.
I believe the best deal you can get now is 100 rounds for 15 dollars.
This course is beloved by all levels of golfers as it is easy enough for new golfers and challenging enough for seasoned veterans.
It is a very straight forward course with views of the bridge, the bay, the Hotel Del, and a very flat course that is very easy to walk.
There are some areas off the fairway that you can get into some rough that can be tough to play out of.
The greens and the entire course is always in excellent shape.
The only downside to this place is that it is very crowded.
You can get a tee time by arriving early at the course 2 days before or calling, I would call and find out what the modus operandi is.
The clubhouse is really nice, the food is decent but not great.
If you are a single, go the starter and get there early and ask to play the back nine first and then get on the list to start the front nine.
You can then play 27 and pay for only 18!
With the increased rates maybe there will be fewer crowds but I wouldn't hold my breath!
Enjoy!! It is a treasure we have in San Diego.

This is a great course for amateur golfers.
Pros:
The course is beautiful.
It is well kept.
The weather is cool and nice right on the ocean.
It was affordable to play.
If you have never golfed here, you have to try it, even if you are as bad as we are.

Eh. It's obviously a nice location. Beautiful course. One problem. I hate playing slow golf. At some point, you gotta get into a groove and this place makes it impossible. My last round there was over six hours. Come on. I love the view, but I was there to play golf too.
It's kind of an old boys club which is too bad. The guys in the pro shop rarely even start off by greeting you. For my money as a SD resident, I play Torrey Pines. There seem to be enough good golfers out there that you don't end up standing around all day.
The price makes it a 3-star. I can go hang out at the beach for a nice view of the water. When a course takes six hours to play, it's just a pain in the ass.
Nice greens and good service. What do you except from a golf range in Coronado. The course is nice for beginners for the fairways are nice and wide. The tees are easy to find from hole to hole. Nice views of downtown San Diego.

There is something great about golfing on an island.
This course is really fun. It's one of the most well kept courses I have ever played, it's challenging, and it's inexpensive.
The green fees are
18 Holes $25.00
18 Holes twilight $13.00 (Varies 2:00 PM Winter to 4:00 PM Summer)
Don't expect to get in anymore than 9 holes if you start at twilight - The pace of play on this course is really slow. Besides not being able to get in 18 at twilight this course is awesome. Play it!

One of my favorite tracks to play in San Diego. Great value, great views and great golfing! Awesome view of the San Diego skyline, boats, and the Bay. Unlike some courses that offer peace and quiet, Coronado offers the buzz of boats, jetskis, planes and cars! Though it's hard to grab tee times, but here's a tip:
If you get there early enough before the dawn patrol hits the back 9, ask to play the back 9 and put your name on the waiting list to start to front 9. You'll need to pay for the whole round, but 9 holes for $25 isn't bad either.
The course is flat but always offers challenge. The fairways are always in decent shape, but the greens can be bumpy at times. Not too many hazards but Water (Ocean!!) can be in play on several holes.
The club house is also popular for brunch as well.
This is a course that has to be on your to-do list!
Its a waterside course on a small peninsula in San Diego. For $25 a round to walk I cant say you can find the same deal anywhere else within 500 miles.
Range is nice, and prices are right. They offer lessons, club rentals and a small pro Shop. I do like the bar area, and the bartender Smokey is the man. Bought me a shot of some tequila as long as I took it strait, with no salt! Ahh how tasty!
Only downside is you better be ready to get up at the asscrack of dawn to make a tee time. It has to be one of the most played and hardest courses to get onto. But with that being said, its in damn good condition!
The City of Coronado does a great job with this course. I rarely have a problem getting on, and it always seems to be in good condition. I really love playing here in the afternoons when you get that perfect breeze off of the bay at your back and the sky is clear.
I will admit that I have shanked a few balls over the fence that is protecting the bicyclists, if the gentleman or his family are reading this, sorry about that one, hope your kid is okay...can I have my Pro-V1 back please?

This is by far the best bargain golf course around. The down side is the course is always packed and it can typically take 5-6 hours to play a round. However, with the cheap, cheap rates (you don't even need to be a Coronado resident to get the municipal rate!) and the spectacular location near the bridge, you really can't complain.
This place was GREAT and reasonable at $25 green fees. A bit hard to schedule a tee time. U have to call 2 days prior at 7am. Even then we were able to get on at 1:30pm. Will come back!!!
I haven't golfed here but as a beginner, hitting the driving range here was pretty affordable & low key. for $5, you get a 50 ball bucket. and they have clubs for you to just borrow for no charge. locale is great too.
Great golf for the money. Well-kept course. Some great bay views (although some of them are rather industrial...lots of shipyards). The food in the clubhouse is pretty good. Busy course. Sometimes tough to get a tee time.

Very good and reasonably priced golf course on the beautiful peninsula known as a Coronado Island. Usually not crowded. Great views of San Diego Bay.

This golf course is great for the beginner or intermediate player. The fairways are wide and not too long. It's rarely bunched up so play pace is very comfortable for you to enjoy the scenery of being on bay, surrounding estates and great view of Coronado bridge. Best part however is the fees to play which are very affordable. Standard rates are about $25-$35 to play during the day at twilight it's only $13 for all you can get in! They also provide a driving range if your just looking to practice. Have fun!
