This fairly new french wine bar is great for parties and soon I think they will open their backyard. I tried the dessert of the day on Saturday, a chocolate cake, and it was phenomenal! You have to order 10 min in advance but the wait is quite worth it to taste that melted chocolate in the middle.. (Yes I like my desserts :) Other than that, the wine selection is good and reasonably priced, food is delicious. It's a cool spot.
This new wine bar and restaurant is the perfect neighborhood spot. Not only does Cornichon offer really nice but not too pricey wines, the French chef turns out tasty food for both brunch and dinner. But what makes this place special is its 3 French owners who are super-friendy and devoted to creating just the right warm atmosphere for a relaxed drink or dinner with friends. It also has a back garden that I can't wait to check out once the weather gets warm again.

Went there for Brunch on Sunday with my roommates and were quite surprised with the quality of the food. Our usual spot was packed and ended up at Cornichon by default. The place was almost empty, so we really didn't know what to expect. Apparently the place is fairly new and they just started to do brunch. We ordered different eggs (Benedict, Florentine and Norwegian) and a granola and yogurt with fresh berries. Everything came out excellent. Eggs were perfect and berries were fresh. We were all surprised with the food since the place looked more like a wine bar than a Williamsburg brunch standard. Since we were 4 and all ordered a mimosas (comes with the brunch) the owner who was our waiter gave us the bottle of bubbly and a carafe of OJ which was a nice touch (Let just say with didn't use much of the OJ... ) I hope the place doesn't get too crowded and they can keep up with the quality. We also noticed a nice size backyard which could be a great spot for a summer brunch. Enjoy before it gets too popular.
Nice little French wine bar with some tasty french food to boot.
All the wines are from France as is the owner I met. (I think there are a few owners) Super nice people & some tasty beverages & morsels. Nice atmosphere & there's apparently there is good wine (I'm allergic to wine, but my companions said it was good), & it is my understanding that good wine is less than abundant in Williamsburg bars. Something different than all the kitsch factor in so many other neighborhood spots.
