4 reviews for Corky's Bar-B-Q
Despite having living in nashville 15 years, I've never been to Corky's. This is entirely due to the fact that I really am not a big pulled BBQ fan and I assumed this is all they did. Alas, I had family in, they wanted to try BBQ and they had read about Corky's.
To my surprise, they are pretty darn good. I opted for the dry rub ribs and found those to be lovely. Moist, full of flavor, not to fatty and plentiful. The sides were all well prepared as well.
The service was very friendly and the inside was exactly what you would expect a BBQ place in Brentwood to look like. All in all a worthy dining experience for not my favorite food and I will definitely go back the next time I have a hankerin for ribs.
Should have suspected something was amiss when the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night.
Waitress practically threw our plates on the table and rushed us to order.
Bread rolls and corn muffins were similarly tossed on the table in passing.
We split a rack of ribs which was soft, but tasteless. (The sauce was actually not bad, but the ribs themselves had no taste.)
Waitstaff chatted among themselves and swept the area around our table while we were eating.
Best parts of the meal? The corn muffin and my IBC root beer.
Food might have merited a 2-star review, but the poor service drops this a notch.
Took the family to Corky's for dinner. The sweet tea and rolls were awesome. Atmosphere was good. Service was good. Since it was our first time and we had a coupon for a free entrée, we tried a little of everything. Dry rubbed ribs, brisket, catfish, turkey, smoked sausage with fried okra, French fries, baked beans and Cole slaw. None of it was good, very plain, no good smoke flavor almost cafeteria style BBQ. We will not be going back.
I love Corkys. It is my favorite BBQ EVER, I don't know why, I just love it. I always have the pulled pork sandwich and I drown it in sauce and eat the big huge sloppy mess. I also had the rolls and the cornbread which were excellent. The fried okra was ok, not very flavorful though so next time I will skip the side and just get the jumbo BBQ sandwich. Be careful though, they will top it with cole slaw unless you tell them not to because it is Memphis style.
