A decent little contemporary lounge with live music @ 730 most evenings. Part modern lounge, part artsy dive bar.
A decent selection and decent prices.
Owned by the same people that own Pete's Pub Style Pizza, so you can order-in anything on their menu.

Awesome!
I have to say, this space has come a long was since the Silver Dollar...and, as many special moments that old miner's bar had for me, Copper Top Lounge is leaps and bounds ahead.
Finally, a nice place to get a glass of wine, or a cocktail after dinner and just relax...they have great music, and live shows (although I've never been to one of those, I hear they're great).
I really hope they make it big here, and hang around for a while...the turnover rate in that space is depressing. Can't wait to come back!!! -

Apparently, this is the new joint in town. Newly renovated, it's pretty cute inside. Comfortable upholstered seating along wall. Small stage where live jazz bands perform. Drunken chatty locals.
Knowledgeable and friendly bartender with plenty of tasty and strong concoctions up his sleeve.
I'll definitely be back. -

Original post flagged...here it is again:
Probably not a good choice for tourists. 9:30PM 03/20/10, I visited this bar with two friends (they're locals/regulars). We sit - and are instantly confronted by a drunken panhandler who I'll call "Mate", because that's how he addresses anyone he does not know. "Mate" asks me for money, five dollars because there's a private party going on. "Mate's" pretty drunk, so he continues to panhandle aggressively. After several minutes, "Mate" decides that I must contribute one dollar, or he would as he phrased it, "break my face." You see, I had asked "Mate" to (& I Quote): "Go Away", which enraged him. So, wishing to avoid contact with "Mate" AND consequently; bloodshed, leading to undesired contact with local law enforcement, I tried to leave. After several "excuse mes", I moved a couple of bar stools and exited the establishment. I figured that if "Mate" desired further contact, he'd simply follow me up the stairs, out of the club. Certain facts relating to circumstances: As I said, "Mate" was liquored up, but so was the bartender. I don't drink, so ordering water may have pissed someone off. Anyway, my friends took me there. Ultimately, I'd advise visitors to stay away unless you wish to brawl with locals. I was in the club for ~ six minutes, so I'm not sorry about failing to tip - I will not return. -

ok, it isn't very big ... but we're a small town. Where else can you see world renown jazz musicians like Bill Douglass for $8? The music is outstanding... the service is top notch... they're now serving pizza, which is great because before I've gotten the munchies... we're a small town and yet we have such great talent available... I hope it doesn't go away due to the recession because I'd cry. When I lived in the Bay Area I would have had to fight traffic, hunt down a place to park which I had to pay for probably, and then pay through the nose for a ticket with a one drink minimum to see this kind of music... I might be out $70 or $80 before the night was over... here, $8 is your night unless you order a very reasonably priced and not watered down drink... I encourage all to enjoy this lovely venue while we have it! So... we also need a good dance venue in town, because there isn't dancing here...

Consistency is a wonderful thing and sadly, The Copper Top has been very inconsistent about when they are going to open their doors for business so after our 3rd attempt as a group to go there and to find their doors closed at 5 pm on a Friday, we gave up and will not return.
