I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to nabbing a FTR for this joint! But leave it to the wonderful Deno and Meredith to beat me to it! ;) I am going to give this place five stars just for the name.
My homegirl Amy took me to this spot for a friend's bday party. She told me where the place was and I called her a liar for saying that there was such a place hidden behind the KFC across the street from Keller's Drive-In. I was wrong... yet again.
This bar is Ship's Lounge cool. Walk in to find a large bar with the two of the friendliest older (but not old) festive and super awesometown bartenders serving up cocktails and cold brew. I scored the personal business card of one of them who told me "be sure not to call me all the time for dates and stuff" with a chuckle. My response: "Consider yourself stalked." They are both sweethearts.
The clientele is completely random too. You have a handful of college kids mixed with old timers who have frequented this place for years. A jukebox kicks the tunes while a dance floor tempts you on one side, and tables, pool tables, a poker table, and shuffleboard tempt you from the other.
The bathrooms are clean, the atmosphere is cozy, the peeps are laid back... I gotta say I lurve this place. Favorite new find. Here's the deal though.. parking blows. There is a Tejano place next door that gets PACKED on weekends, especially Saturdays. Amy S and I parked super far away, and were even offered a J on the walk to the bar. No thanks, but thanks! Just make sure you take a big manly friend when you get back to your car. Actually you should just cab it because you will probably have too much fun and end up getting trashed.
I created the BEST secret handshake in the world upon entering with Amy's friend, Zane. Oh and Julie is the best waitress in the world. I just had to add that. ;)

I'm kinda neutral about this place. I have friends who have fun there. It's not one of those trendy dive bars...it's an actual dive bar. Not like Winedale which is borderline. You might actually be shivved in the parking lot of the Spur. There's potential here. Nice sized space. Friendly bar keeps. They will tolerate a lot of shenanigans. Neutral...drunk AND neutral.

Copper Spur is perfect for those nights when you've already had quite a few beers and you're in the mood for a hole-in-the-wall bar where you can play shuffleboard, drink a few more, and not worry about making a total ass of yourself. It's a dark, dingy dive bar with shuffleboard, darts and a dancefloor for some line dancing. At least, that is what I'm told. I can't actually remember what the inside of the bar looks like. But I can remember that it's always a good time at Copper Spur.
I should mention that the only reason it isn't 4 or 5 stars is that there's enough second hand smoke to destroy Rhode Island.
