Took my dad there in 1997 or so and he still talks about it.  The staff, food and atmosphere are all great.  If you are visiting NYC get in a cab or subway and make the (short) trip.  You will like it.

Copper Kettle or The Kettle? It's Copper Kettle on the receipt, but all business cards, menus, restaurant sign, etc. says The Kettle.

Hefty portions for decent prices.

Came here for dinner and got the Kettle burger with cheddar-- great burger!  Quite possibly one of the best burgers I've had.  And I never noticed this until yesterday, but the bar special is a junior burger and a glass of beer for $6. A fantastic deal for anybody in the area!

A notch above a standard pub.  The layout could be better.  There seems to be some wasted space in the bar area -- I might add some little tables on the floor to improve the feng shui (or whatever it's called).  Food's good, drinks are strong, service is usually okay.  I prefer sitting in a booth in the bar over eating in the dining room.  You can also sit at the little bar by the window and watch the world go by.

The BF and I came across this bar restaurant a few months ago, and for a change of pace, we headed to the north side of Queens Blvd to try it out.  This Irish bar definitely has been around for a while and has a devoted following of patrons, something which was evident when we stepped in on a sleepy Sunday evening. While most places weren't busy, The Kettle was hopping with a lively bar scene, friendly staff and even more friendly customers.  Perhaps it was the Guinness that made everyone so good natured,

Not sure if we planned to stay, we started with a couple of pints.  I had barely gotten to drinking my beer, when I spilled most of it on the floor!  Hey, the glass was slippery with condensation!  Much to my surprise, the bartender came around with another full pint, which was awesome.  That completely convinced me that we should stay for dinner.

Of course, like just like many other Irish bars in the area, there was plenty of sports TV being shown.  I'm usually not crazy about sports bars, but it wasn't so intrusive and the patrons were so good natured and fun, it really added rather than detracted from the experience.

Anyway, the dining area wasn't busy, so we sat down and took a look at the menu.  There was the standard pub menu, but it also had some interesting entrees.  Kevin chose the French onion soup and a cobb salad.  Once again, we was very happy with both choices.  I chose cream of mushroom soup - one of my favorites - which was very tasty and not too heavy on the cream.  I also decided upon their boiled scrod dish, which came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables.  It was edible, but not fantastic.  It's actually been some time since I've eaten scrod, and forgotten about its being flavorless with a rubbery texture.

Our waitress as well as the other staff were all fantastic, readily willing to chat and become your friends.  We love that aspect of it so much that we'll definitely be back for a few pints and dinner soon.  Enjoy!

I have to admit, I've been kinda prejudiced against the Kettle. It's just not my kind of look or scene. While I do like Irish pubs, the Copper Kettle is a slightly upscale-looking version of that kind of bar. When it's dark, the tables are lit by candles. There is lots of open space, and the place is always spotless. I guess I've always felt the space just feels kind of soulless.

That said, every time I go, the place seems to give me another reason not to slag it off too hard. First off are the bartenders and wait staff, who are always friendly and helpful. The prices for most of the dishes seem rather inflated for pub food. Still, portions are healthy and my fish and chips actually had some tenderness to it (plus a bottle of vineagar at my table). The bar and beer selection is decent. The burgers are a good deal.

I guess I'm never going to feel like I fit in here. It's mostly a scene of mid 40s and upwards locals. But, they are all friendly folks, and despite my feelings on the space, there is no lacking in good spirits there.

I live a block away from The Kettle and my boyfriend and I find ourselves here quite often for dinner/drinks. The food is a little pricier than some other Irish pubs, but it's well-worth it. The waitstaff is always friendly. The Kettle is a great local hangout that gets crowded on the weekends - and especially during the annual St. Patrick's Day For All parade! Highly recommended. Good for dates.

Finding this corner restaurant was like finding a new friend that you want to spend more time with.  Each time I go, the food & service seem to get better (such sweet & attentive waitresses).  Brunch is filling - I love the plate of brown bread they bring out.  The cob salad is a monster - I was in heaven.  I've enjoyed watching the Mets game with their mouth-watering hot wings.  I wish I lived closer so I could become a serious regular.  Great.  Now I'm craving wings!

this is my new favorite neighborhood spot. they have a great jr. burger bar special where you get a burger, fries, and a beer for $6 if u sit at the bar; and a tasty burger it is. i Love their goat cheese & walnut salad which is big enough for 2 to share. they also have daily specials which can be anything from stuffed pork loin to lamb chops, etc. - basically everything is good here, i havent had a bad meal yet. its not cheap but not too pricey either.
