Totally agree with the other reviewer. . . .this is the best place for min golf. I grew up in the area, still have a home here, and my parents came for dates here long before I was ever thought of! Finally, I take my hubby here and he is smitten with the place! He loves, as I do, the wonderful plants, the cool breeze, the music. . . . . this is a walk back to 1955, I guess, I wasn't around yet! But from what I've heard, nothing has changed much. Go to Cool Crest and you will be impressed.
An absolute total gem of a place that takes you back to the post-World War 2/pre-Vietnam Happy Days era. Many of the customers today are descendants of those who came there as kids and young adults. The place was built in 1937 and the wife of the man who built it still runs the place today and works at the check in counter with her dog accompanying her. The course is probably the most difficult one in town you will find, filled with lush tropical and semi-tropical greenery. The music playing over the loudspeaker is strictly 40's and 50's era, consisting of Bing Crosby, Jim Reeves, Frank Sinatra, etc. Cost per person is only $4 per game. If you want a piece of nostalgia in San Antonio and love miniature golf, this is the place to come to, perhaps followed by a dinner at the Tip Top Cafe.
