Review from Rene L.
2nd stop on our Amador wine trip.
the wine descriptions alone would make me step in and try everything, but they had me at Mister Bubbles: not too dry, not too sweet, and goes down very easily. their Sauvignon Blanc was another flavorful wine that kept on giving even after the last drop.
when you think it doesn't get any better, yes they have a port chocolate raspberry sauce perfect for anything you can cover with chocolate.
not only did Jamie share their amazing award winning wines with us but happily told us the history of their winery name, details about each wine, and held a relaxed and super funny conversation. definitely another addition to the so far perfect Amador wine tour. -

If you get a chance to check out this place, you'll be glad you did! For a new winery, they really make some great wines! They even have some other great stuff too, like wine & chocolate (which is great over ice cream)
I've been to many wineries over the years, but this is the only one that I've joined the "wine club" well worth it, by the way! The only down side, I wish they where closer, since I live in SF, I don't get over there as much as I would like too.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Emily J.
On a recent weekend trip with two of my best friends, we went wine tasting in Amador County. Convergence was definitely my favorite stop of the day. I was driving so I sampled a limited amount of what they have to offer but I did buy a bottle of their Sav Blanc and a bottle of their Barbara to enjoy at a later time, when I don't have to drive. Another highlight was their Mister Bubbles, a delightful, smooth bubbly that we sipped on back at the cabin.
Family run, this winery is pleasant and inviting. We were greeted outside and then directed inside. The day we visited, one of the owners, who is also a cookbook author, was sharing three different appetizers. The appetizers were all delicious and paired nicely with their wines.
There is a 10% discount coupon in a local guide but they were also offering a number of discounts on specific varietals and half and full cases. Most wines are between $15 - $30.
The winery sits on beautiful land so this is also a nice place to capture some images of your trip through the area.Listed in: Photo Fun

Wow. Wines speak for themselves But we loved talking to the winemakers. What a great experience. They won alot of awards. I bought the tempranillo and the zinrah.

The wine is amazing. I especially adore their "Italian Job wine." It is by far one of the best wineries not only in Amador, or the Sierra Foothills, but in California. The proprietors: one was an employee at St. Helena's V. Sattui. The other, a pretty darn good cook. Do not leave Plymouth/Amador without visiting convergence!

One of the winery gems in Amador Country. After wine tasting here, I have no need to go to Napa. They produce some wonderful reds; I purchased a $35 zinfandel port, and I'm usually a under $10 gal. Sure, Convergance was my fifth winery of the day, but it was delicious and I'm worth it! They also have a terrific raspberry zinfandel chocolate sauce. I think I'll pour myself a glass of that!

Convergence is, without a doubt, one of the top wineries in Amador. I have been going there for several years and am surprised that the place keeps getting better. Every year, it seems like they add one more wine to their menu.
They are traditionally known for their red Rhones, but have been adding a few whites into the mix. They also make a sparkling wine which is delicious, dry and very drinkable. For me, though, it is all about the reds. Their mourvedre is the star of the show, IMO, but there simply isn't a weak wine in their selection. No, wait. The BARBERA is the belle of the ball. No, the ZinRah. Damn, I can't decide.
I also have to mention that they, like most of the Amador County wines, are incredibly affordable. -

Thank you Convergence! Super friendly and my first Amador County stop of the weekend. Great wines, tasty oh-so-tasty port! Very friendly and willing to give some great suggestions of other local tasting rooms to go to.

I was first introduced to the this winery at a small tasting room in Amador City. On first trip back, I decided to visit the place directly. It is clear that the owners love what they do.
On the day I did go, HA, the owners were just finishing cleaning up a flat-skunk from the road in front of their place. Their wine still performed well and I left with a case of various vintages. I yet to drink them all yet so we will see. It has been a good start.
