5 reviews for Contra Costa Civic Theatre
I spent waaaaayyyy too much time in this theater as a teenager. I volunteered everywhere. I was in the front, backstage, in the light booth, on the spot platforms. I painted, taped, served food, and I loved every minute of it.
I love that the Flynn/Ray family continues this tradition. I plan to bring my nieces to a musical matinee soon. (They're still just a tad young.)

This theatre is great. In the past we've been season ticket holders, and this year we've bought season tickets again. Every show I've seen has been wonderful and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Everyone there seems to love theatre and performing, it's very friendly. An all-around great experience.
What a treat to see something besides a musical at a Community Theater. St. Joan, written by George Bernard Shaw, is the type of production that is normally performed at major houses. This 3 hours production was well done; a really unexpected treat.

Very sorry if I offended anyone. The actors are not all amateurs. There are Shellie Award-winning actresses, and actors who have studied voice for many years. Very sorry for making that mistake.

Where else can you see a fantastic play or wonderful music for affordable prices and actually SEE the performers?
Every seat is a good seat. The theatre holds around 100 (?)
We have enjoyed many productions over the years.
Most noteworthy. We saw "Fiddler on the Roof" at the ACT Theatre
and paid a bundle for seats where the stage was barely visible with
binoculars. The cast seemed bored.
Then we saw a CCCT production with so called "amateurs" for 1/4th
the price. Not only could we see the actors but we could feel their
enthusiasm and energy.
Matinees on some Sundays.
Summer camps for kids.
